Democrats Define Truth As Whatever Attacks America

Not long ago the Democrats worked feverishly to destroy 254 American heroes from across the political spectrum who offered their factually supported, firsthand eyewitness testimony about John Kerry's very odd (to say the least) four month aborted tour of duty in Vietnam. Compare and contrast this with the unquestioning hero status being given to the rather nuts Cindy Sheehan whose statements are utterly contradicted by her own testimony after her first meeting with the President (a meeting the leftist liars in the Old Media try to keep hidden from the public), whose every word has been repudiated by the people who know her best (including her own parents and her husband) and whose rhetoric borders on (and its from the other side of the border) insanity.

Why the different treatment? Simple. To the Democrat truth is defined not by fact, evidence and logic but only by the degree to which someone hates America. If someone is spewing anti-American hate that makes them, de facto, truth tellers.

So it is that, while everyone knows Michael Moore's movie was a dishonest attempt to spin reality in order to portray outright lies as the truth the Democrat leadership gave it a standing ovation and Moore himself a seat of honor at their convention because, Moore's movie being viciously anti-American made it worthy of applause and honors.

This is why when Newsweek found the chance to spread a lie about American troops -- that they'd flushed Korans down the toilet at Gitmo -- they ran with it despite the fact that not only was it not supported by the facts and evidence but the story is quite literally impossible. How, exactly, does one get an entire book to go down a tiny drainpipe? But it doesn't matter to the far-leftists in the Old Media that the story is impossible, the fact that it was anti-American made it true.

This, too, is why the Managing Editor of CBS News supposedly couldn't recognize forged documents or just wasn't experienced enough to know that a mentally disturbed Democratic party partisan with multiple direct ties to the highest levels of the Kerry campaign wasn't an "unimpeachable source." Of course he know. But the fact that the forged documents and the mentally ill partisan hated America's Commander-in-Chief and might help elect a leftist appeaser of terror made the story true.

Meanwhile, as Dan Rather is caught using forged documents and CNN is nailed for engaging in a decade-long fraud in covering for Saddam Hussein's atrocities and Newsweek runs bogus stories about Korans and Howell Raines and Jayson Blair and Maureen Dowd are nailed in lie after lie after lie the Democrat swears that it is Fox News that is made up of "lying liars" because they refuse to lie and attack America like the "truth-tellers" at the Old Media.

And it is why the Democrats' second most powerful Senator, Dick Durbin, took to the floor of the United States Senate and read into the Congressional record (and for the benefit of Al Jazeera) the most vicious of slanders against American troops -- comparing them to the most heinous regimes in human history -- based on a single e-mail he received from someone claiming to be with the FBI, an e-mail that, to this day, Durbin refuses to show to anyone. The story, of course, turned out to be yet another Democratic Party lie but that doesn't matter to the left. By attacking America it was, de facto, true.

And this is why the Democrats care not one bit that Air America is only on the air because they stole millions of dollars from needy children. That kind of theft is a-okay so long as it is to help promote people whose mission is to attack America at all turns.

Cindy Sheehan is a nut and a liar. He rhetoric is something only the biggest haters of freedom and democracy could buy into. Yet there is John Edwards' wife, and the leftist radio talk show hosts and Wolf Blitzer and Maureen Dowd, et al, offering her the highest praise and support because, to the Democrat, truth and honor are defined by a single trait: the degree to which one hates America.

Evan,
You have…once again….fallen off your rocker. I have to say the “I pulled this out of my ass” award most definitely goes to you hands down.

Democrats worked “feverishly” to “destroy” 254 American “heroes”? I suppose “working feverishly” is IGNORING lies told about you in the media? And what classifies someone as an American “hero” now Evan? Working directly for the Bush/Cheney campaign? I find it so amazing that these “military heroes” would suddenly have a very strong position on attacking the AARP the moment they said NO to Bush’s plan to screw those very seniors out of the SS checks.

But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. People who kick grieving mothers wouldn’t have any trouble with stealing every last penny from elderly widows. Next you’ll demand a tax break for when you buy the baseball bat you’ll need to beat the shit out of a cripple.

Perhaps you haven’t noticed Evan, as you keep your head buried deep in the sand, but Cindy OPENLY said she met with Bush prior to the major media paying attention to her. In fact, she talked about it IN DEPTH on Thom Hartmann’s program. Just ask him about it, I’m sure he’ll play the clip for you. It’s this exact same TROLL LOGIC that dictates that if you have family members who disagree with you politically, that it must mean you’re insane. I’m sure there’s a few lefties in your family Evan, better start looking for a shrink.

You know Evan, when you LIE and say that Democrats don’t care about that truth (using examples that you are LYING about), it kinda doesn’t bode well for your CREDIBILITY, does it?

Again, Evan…prove there was a single lie in Moore’s movie. Fahrenheit 9/11 was a wonderful movie that was horrifying yet funny, fascinating yet extremely emotional. And most of all, it wasn’t the LEAST bit “anti-American”, but was actually EXTREMELY PATRIOTIC. The movie not only got standing ovations from the Democratic leadership, but from ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY in red states and next to military bases. Why? Because it MOVED THEM TO TEARS to see what our brave men and women are doing and are forced to go through in Iraq. But I guess the only way to support the troops is to not allow the media to film their coffins, right?

Newsweek spread a lie? Really? IS THIS WHY THE STORY WAS BACKED BY THOUSANDS OF OTHER ARTICLES? Is that why the US Army ADMITTED TO FLUSHING KORANS DOWN THE TOILET? No, the TRUTH doesn’t matter a bit to you Evan, the only thing that matters to you is smearing anybody or anything that tells TRUTH to power.

A leftist appeaser of terror? Riiight..Kerry was a “leftist appeaser of terror (by saying he was going to kill them all no less…) while Bush is going after the terrorists? Is this why Bush’s family has financial dealings with terrorists? Is this why he invites terrorist financiers into the White House? Is that why he harbors international terrorists in NYC? How has Bush gone after the terrorists Evan? By failing to capture bin Laden and saying “I really don’t spend much time on him”? Is Bush going after the terrorists by SILENCING the Patterns on Global Terrorism report that shows that terrorist attacks are on a dramatic rise since he foolishly invaded Iraq? Is he going after the terrorists by overthrowing a democracy in Haiti and putting wanted terrorists in charge? Is he going after the terrorists by overthrowing one of the few secular states in the Middle East and replacing it with an Islamic state in Iraq? Just as Christ said “you cannot serve both God and money” you CANNOT both support Bush and fight terrorism.

Strangely, when Rather was caught using documents that he couldn’t prove WERE NOT FORGED, he resigned his post. When Brit Hume was caught LYING ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY he just kept right on lying.

It’s quite simple Evan. Don’t confuse the war with the warrior, and don’t confuse the commander in chief with the troops. Sure, no one died in Gitmo…except a few hundred detainees, with the media not being permitted to see the bodies…but shit…that’s no big deal…after all…they’re all terrorists right? Strangely, NONE of them have been found guilty of any terrorist crimes. What a coincidence huh? But we can’t forget that they are fed wonderfully. In fact, for the Tipton Three, they had all the DEAD BODIES they could eat when they were stuffed inside metal canisters for three days in the dessert heat. Plenty of liquid to drink too, if you can tolerate the taste of urine, blood, and feces. Bon appetit!

Air America stole millions of dollars from needy children? Or did one FORMER manager at Air America, who worked for Air America’s FORMER parent company mismanage a few bucks? Meanwhile there’s absolute silence from EVAN when NYC uses foster children as guinea pigs by giving them experimental drugs they did not wish to take that made them deathly ill. There’s plenty of crocodile tears from Evan for children supposedly hurt by AAR, complete silence on the 1 in 5 American children growing up in poverty because of the GOP, whose former leader Newt Gingrich even attempt to put his OWN CHILDREN into an orphanage. Newt later attempted to take children away from single mothers (for being single) and put them into orphanages too…but that’s a-okay, right Evan?

Cindy is now a nut! Thanks for the diagnosis Dr. Sayet. By what DSM-IV classification is she “a nut”? Psst. I’ll tell you a secret Evan. Psychologists have yet to classify having a SPINE as a mental disorder. Yup Cindy is one of the biggest haters of freedom and democracy by practicing her 1st amendment right to peacefully petition the government for a redress of grievances. But, I guess everyone hates freedom and democracy, unless you happen to blindly support the ONLY world leader today that has OVERTHROWN a democracy.

Truth means nothing to you. These people didn't "work directly for the bush administratino." You simply slander anyone who disagrees with you with any lie you can muster.

What makes them heroes is that they were highly decorated for their war efforts.

And, of course, Ms. Sheehan is SOOOOOO grieving that she holds press conferences and basks in her fifteen minutes of fame by hurting all the other mothers who have lost children but do not go around slandering their country.

as for her being insane how about just listening to her words. Oh, right, you don't have to because so long as her insanity is to spew baseless venom against America it makes it true.

Sorry, A -- you guys can keep up your relentless hatred and attacks on America. The more you do, the more you lose.

Geez, where do you start with alva's little rant. I can just picture him rendering his garments while reading your article. It's hillareous how these libs worry about the conditions in Club Gitmo; yet call our troops Nazis and war criminals.

It's also funny how they so matter of factly state how all of the Swift Boat Vets were liars when not one of their claims were ever proved wrong by the Kerry team.

As far as Cindy Sheehan is concerned, she was a nut before her son died and she remains a nut. Now she is the left wing's darling nut; because she tells the story the media wants to hear. Anything to make Bush look bad gets first page treatment. Too bad it has again back fired on them and they even look more looney than before.

DNC, RIP!

Evan,
You have…once again….fallen off your rocker. I have to say the “I pulled this out of my ass” award most definitely goes to you hands down.

=====>Yes but Alva you take the "I will only show you helf the facts and only I after I distort them" award in a landslide.

Democrats worked “feverishly” to “destroy” 254 American “heroes”? I suppose “working feverishly” is IGNORING lies told about you in the media? And what classifies someone as an American “hero” now Evan? Working directly for the Bush/Cheney campaign?
======>The Swift boat guys weren't even around until Kerry was running around spreading his lies about his service in the Navy. Don't you understand if it weren't for Kerry and his lies, yes lies, the swift boat guys wouldn't have mattered a single bit.

I find it so amazing that these “military heroes” would suddenly have a very strong position on attacking the AARP the moment they said NO to Bush’s plan to screw those very seniors out of the SS checks.
=======>I love the way you question these guy's heroism with such disdain and disrespect. It really shows you cntempt for what the brave people did to protect your right to speak. Bush hasn't and isn't crewing anyone's SS check. By the way if you were truly honest you would at least acknowledge that the Social Security plan introduced by the Bush admiistration is nothing more than Clinton's plan that was sunk during the Monica-gate investigation where Clinton was impeached for ........LYING (actually perjury which is worse). But it's bad because Bush introduced it.

But I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. People who kick grieving mothers wouldn’t have any trouble with stealing every last penny from elderly widows. Next you’ll demand a tax break for when you buy the baseball bat you’ll need to beat the shit out of a cripple.
======>So let me get this right. You want Cindy Sheehan to have her right to voice her baseless claims but no one can question her? So her right to free speech trumps everone else's? Why is that Alva because she represents your kind's misinterpretation of the facts. I think it is sick that this woman has managed to squeeze 15 minutes of fame out of her son's heroic sacrifice. I think it is even sicker that the likes of people in the Moveon.org camp have managed to exploit her loss for their gain. Shameful indeed.

======>So why hasn't the media expressed the fact that she had met with him earlier? They only show the wacko statements that she is making. This is a case of how the media is overwhelmingly liberally biased. The good news is that Cindy Sheehan is right now at 14:59 of her news coverage. Most people are done with this circus.

You know Evan, when you LIE and say that Democrats don’t care about that truth (using examples that you are LYING about), it kinda doesn’t bode well for your CREDIBILITY, does it?

======>Democrats....credible....hahahahaha! Must be why the keep winning elections. Oh they haven't won many elections? Yikes, sorry dude. My bad.

========>Did you watch the same movie we all did? That movie has been debunked so many times it is embarassing that anyone even saw it for more than what it was. To even call it a documentary is laughable. What's patriotic about making our soldiers look like villians? What's patriotic about giving the enemy a propaganda film to help support the morale of our enemy's troops? Alva you are nothing more than apologist but funny how you seem to prefer saying it over here in the comfort of the US where you are allowed to have an opinion and not in these countries that you claim we are oppressing. Interesting indeed....

The movie not only got standing ovations from the Democratic leadership, but from ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY in red states and next to military bases.
======>Huh? Try showing this movie in those actual bases. That would be the test. Second of it was so poorly done that Disney refused to market it and even faced the risk of lawsuit because it was so raught with obvious lies and anti-Americanism that they didn't even want to touch it.

Why? Because it MOVED THEM TO TEARS to see what our brave men and women are doing and are forced to go through in Iraq.
=====>Alva, our military is 100% volunteer. No one is forced.

But I guess the only way to support the troops is to not allow the media to film their coffins, right?

====>It's called respect for the dead. The media is using their flag-draped coffins, you know that flag you like to burn and the one people like me helped protect at one point, for propaganda. It's out of reverence and respect that they should not be photographed.

======>That article was not only false but physcically impossible. Have you seen the size of a Koran and the "flushing" ability of the standard military toilet? Those toilets are lucky to flush your own excriment. Secondly even NEWSWEEK admitted that their source was wrong. Yet you want so much to believe anything that besmirches our troops.

A leftist appeaser of terror? Riiight..Kerry was a “leftist appeaser of terror (by saying he was going to kill them all no less…) while Bush is going after the terrorists? Evan,
Riiight….sure, the Swifties didn’t have any connection to the Bush campaign…none at all right? Except of course, Ben Ginsberg (a chief counsel of the Bush campaign, who also gave legal advice for the Swifties), Margaret Wilson, (who was deputy counsel for Bush’s Commerce Department while being a partner of John O’Neill’s law firm), Kenneth Cordier (who appeared in a Swifties ad and was a member of the Bush/Cheney 04 National Veterans Steering Committee), Merrie Spaeth (who did PR for the Swifties, who was married to Tex Lezar, Bush’s former gubernatorial running mate), Harlan Crow (who gave 25 grand to the Swifties and is a trustee of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation), Susan Arceneaux (who helped set up the Swifties, and did communications work for them, while being the treasurer for Dick Armey), Bob Perry (the long time friend of Rove who gave the swifties 200 grand and Bush 46 grand)…no….no connection at all.

Highly decorated for their war efforts? I’m sure those Swifties got those metals by shooting themselves with their own rifle, right?

Sure, Cindy ISN’T a grieving mother because there’s people in the press paying attention to you. I guess Celeste Zappala isn’t a grieving mother either? For some reason dozens of grieving parents have come to meet with Cindy. I guess they hate America too, right?

And again you call her “insane” based on what? You don’t like what she says? Or perhaps…again…you just pulled it out of your ass. You know, using your method of diagnosis Evan, I can conclude that you are a paranoid schizophrenic, and the best way to keep you safe is to lock you up in a nut house…of course though…I don’t randomly pull things out of my ass in order to smear grieving mothers.

Since you’re not well educated, you might want to go read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights…you know…the international law the US got the world to pass and acknowledge in order to prevent our troops from being tortured and beheaded? You know, that international law that was established in order to outlaw a repeat of Nazi concentration camps? Oh…that’s right…the US is running a concentration camp down in Cuba now.

LOL. Riiiiight, Cindy’s protest has BACKFIRED on us? Is that why Bush was forced to end his vacation early in order to beg the American people not to abandon his disaster of a war? Even conservative pundits are shaking their heads. Our war against terrorism has been so successful that Bush has managed to make one of the few secular nations in the middle east an officially Islamic nation. Keep up the good work! Next Bush can go after bin Laden by inviting him over to Crawford for cigars!

Miami,
Actually, if it wasn’t for Rove, and the Bush/Cheney campaign there wouldn’t have the Swifties…after all, that’s who created them and funded them.

lololololol…sure, Clinton would have introduced social security privatization right? The fact of the matter is that Bush has had this on his mind since at least 1978 when he first ran for Congress…he wasn’t elected then as he didn’t have anyone rigging the voting machines yet. Second, the inane Bush plan would ad a few TRILLION dollars in US debt, that would completely defund Social Security. NO ONE in the Bush camp has yet figured out how Bush’s privatization scheme would add a single dollar to SS solvency. In fact, Bush’s budget is so piss poor that he keeps stealing billions out of it in order to hide some of his red ink. The reality is that it’s the ONLY thing in Bush’s federal budget that isn’t bleeding red all over the place…and THAT is what he calls a “crisis”. And of course…you IGNORED the fact that an organization supposedly based entirely on veterans affairs suddenly attacked the AARP the moment they didn’t go along with Bush’s privatization scheme. THEY ARE A PR FLACK GROUP FOR THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

No, as usual you got it wrong. Cindy Sheehan is not voicing “baseless claims” but is publicly asking a QUESTION. Feel free to answer that question all you like. Instead you are attacking HER PERSONALLY, showing that people like you, would have no problem with attacking ANYONE if it threatens your fuehrer. You people are COCKROACHES and that is an insult to cockroaches.

How the hell has Moveon exploited Casey Sheehan? By organizing candle light vigils in his memory? I guess the best way to avoid exploiting our fallen troops is to refuse to attend their funerals right?

Miami, obviously the media HAS expressed the fact that she met with Bush prior. THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW ABOUT IT. Again, Cindy has OPENLY said that OVER AND OVER again, BEFORE and AFTER the media paid any attention to her. Ah…so the media is liberally biased because the media YOU watch only shows a few sound bites of what she’s saying?

You know, winning 4 out of the last 4 presidential elections ain’t bad. By the way, Miami, better get to work on rigging those voting machines. Looking at the 30% approval ratings of the cons in congress, and the 38% approval ratings of Bush, YOU’LL NEED THEM.

Well I don’t know if you saw it Miami. I have it on DVD. Yes, it was debunked…by a group of liars. I particularly liked Fahrenhype, which mostly involved Dick Morris ranting his opinions. I guess ole Dicky had to take time out to do it between sucking on hookers’ toes. My favorite part was when Dweedle Dumb and Dweedle Dumber said at the end of the movie “Moore’s not an American, he must be French…snicker…snicker” then cut to a scene of Dick Morris ranting again over the NYC skyline “that’s where the towers used to be…that’s what we lost…there’s the Statue of Liberty…that’s what we didn’t loose.” Does anyone see the idiotic irony here? Moore, was born in Michigan, which last I checked was a part of the United States. In other words, he’s an American. The Statue of Liberty on the other hand….IS FRENCH.

But on to Fahrenheit…um WHERE did it make our soldier look like villains? I know! I know! …it was when that soldier looked right in the camera and said “if Donald Rumsfeld was here right now, I’d ask him for his resignation.”

Like I said before Miami, I’ve read Kopel’s trash. Read THIS link:
FahrenCRAP 9/11

Miami, yes that movie sold theaters out near military bases. Forget the bases, Moore allowed bootleg copies to be sent to our troops in Iraq. Many of them over there have watched it. The reality is that Disney forced Miramax from releasing it. Why? Because the movie attacked members of the Saudi government. Guess what? Euro Disney has been running red ink for a long time, and those very same Saudis has been bailing them out.

Ah, no one is forced to be in Iraq? I guess our troops who are stationed there just LOVE getting shot at, right?

It’s called censorship. I guess Bush has a tremendous “respect for the dead” by not attending a single one of their funerals.

Wrong, Newsweek admitted that they got a SOURCE wrong. That story has been backed up by THOUSANDS of other articles, DATING BACK YEARS. That is why the US Army ADMITTED TO IT.

Bandar bin Sultan’s wife, Princess Haifa, has, and probably still writes personal checks to terrorist organizations. Bandar is a close personal friend to the Bush family, and is a former Saudi ambassador to the US. Bush also harbors Emmanuel Constant, who is wanted in various nations in Central America for multiple terrorist acts. He lives in NYC at taxpayer’s expense. In fact, the Marines were used to help a group of Haitian terrorists overthrow their democracy. But I’m sure you knew that. I’m sure Bill O’Reilly told you that in between ranting about Michael Jackson’s genitals and a dead white girl in Aruba.

Wrong…he couldn’t prove they were NOT forged.

I’m sure Bill O’Reilly has told all about the detainees who have died while in US custody. Shit, he didn’t did he? Instead he’s doing pieces about high school cheerleaders dressing too sexy.

Feel free to google “the Tipton Three”.

Miami, take a remedial course in psychology and maybe my words won’t fly right over your head.

see you guys later...i'm going to the beach!

Social Security plan is big, bold and controversial

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BY ROBERT A. RANKIN
Knight Ridder News Service
WASHINGTON — President Clinton's plan to save Social Security and Medicare is the biggest, boldest proposal he has made since his abortive 1993-94 health-care reform crusade, and may prove equally controversial.

Mr. Clinton proposes to spend nearly $3.4 trillion over the next 15 years to solve the two biggest financial challenges facing the government for the next generation, to rescue both popular programs without the pain of raising taxes or reducing benefits.

Without reforms, Social Security will be able to pay only 72 cents of every dollar it promises retirees in pension benefits starting in 2032, according to the system's trustees. But Mr. Clinton's plan to channel $2.7 trillion into Social Security would cover all current benefit costs until 2055.

In addition, Medicare — which covers most medical expenses for the elderly — is projected to go bankrupt in 2008. But Mr. Clinton's proposal to give Medicare up to $650 billion extra over 15 years would pay for all current benefits through 2020.

Many Republicans objected to the mechanics of Mr. Clinton's plan. Some accept parts of it but prefer to devote more of the surplus to tax cuts.

“We didn't balance the budget so the government could grow,” complained Senate Budget Committee Chairman Pete Domenici, R-N.M., who sharply criticized Mr. Clinton's seizure of nearly the entire surplus, saying his plan would preclude any income-tax cuts “for the next 15 years. ... We think taxpayers should get that money.”

But analysts of every stripe acknowledged that Mr. Clinton's bold proposals were a political master stroke, certain to ignite a great national debate over how to spend the looming surplus funds — if the Senate finishes his impeachment trial reasonably soon.

Mr. Clinton thus posed an implicit choice to Congress and the country, between bogging down in impeachment or governing imaginatively for the future.

“My instinct is, if the Senate starts calling witnesses and the impeachment trial drags on into April, you can probably kiss any significant legislation goodbye,” said Henry Aaron, an economist at the Brookings Institution, a centrist think tank, who liked the thrust of Mr. Clinton's plan.

One big question mark, however, is whether the expected $4.4 trillion surplus turns up.

=======The most controversial element of Mr. Clinton's plan calls for creating a new government mechanism to oversee investment of hundreds of billions of dollars in the stock market.======

The federal budget is projected to run the $4.4 trillion surplus over the next 15 years; Mr. Clinton proposes putting 62 percent of it into the Social Security trust funds. ============A new board would oversee investment of about 25 percent of that in stocks; the rest would be invested in Treasury bonds, as all trust fund assets are today. ==========

Conservatives fear that permitting government to invest so much directly in stocks could lead to federal pressure, through ownership power, on private corporations to follow politically directed policies rather than ones set purely on business interests

Ummmmmmmm...what do you think now?
Wait there's more.
Here is ANOTHER article detailing his plan.....

========President Bill Clinton is considering a plan to use the budget surplus to fund new retirement savings accounts to supplement Social Security.====== Although the President's plan has some good points, Congress would need to correct several weaknesses for it to become the basis for serious long-term reform.

Details are vague, but the plan appears to use the federal budget surplus--estimated at $76 billion this year--to create the new retirement savings accounts. It is not clear whether every American would qualify for these accounts, or only those who fall below a certain income level. The surplus probably would be used to start the accounts, but future payments to them might be made as either an annual lump sum or a federal match of what the owner had saved. How to administer the accounts and invest their funds is still being discussed. One version would make the accounts voluntary.

Positive Features

The President's proposal clearly shows that the White House recognizes several truths about how to save the Social Security system and several core principles for reform:

Using the surplus to save Social Security would mean creating personal retirement accounts. President Clinton understands basic math. He realizes that most working Americans would receive far higher benefits if they could invest their Social Security retirement taxes in personal retirement accounts. Even a conservative portfolio divided evenly between stocks and super-safe government bonds would yield returns of 5 percent, far more than Social Security's current average annual return of 1.2 percent. The alternatives--raising taxes or reducing benefits--would force Americans to pay more and get less, making Social Security's weak returns even worse.

Social Security cannot pay all the benefits it has promised. President Clinton knows that Social Security simply will not have the resources to pay all the benefits it has promised. He recognizes that Americans need the security of private investments to supplement basic Social Security benefits.

Americans should be able to use Social Security to create wealth. President Clinton recognizes that Social Security should allow workers from all income levels to create a nest egg to use for their retirement or their family's future. Americans should have more to show for a lifetime of work than memories and a small monthly check.

Government investment is a bad idea. The President agrees with the Congressional Research Service, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, and others that having the government invest the Social Security trust fund simply would not work and could threaten the economy by politicizing investment decisions.

Personal retirement accounts are feasible, cost-effective, and safe. President Clinton knows it would be fairly simple to solve the logistical problems associated with creating personal retirement accounts, and that these accounts could be structured to be both inexpensive and low-risk. Workers in three Texas counties already manage their own Social Security investments with high returns, and other Americans can, too.

Gaps in the Proposal

But the President's plan contains glaring gaps that must be addressed:

Supplemental accounts would do nothing to improve Social Security. Using the budget surplus to create supplemental accounts would not solve any of the problems facing Social Security. The program still would not have the necessary resources to pay all the benefits it has promised. Supplemental accounts also would do nothing to raise Social Security's underlying rate of return or make it a better deal for workers.

Supplemental accounts would not answer the question, "What happens when the budget surpluses end?" Experience suggests that the era of budget surpluses will be fairly short--about five years. When the inevitable economic slowdown hits, deficits will return, and contributions to the supplemental accounts will stop. Americans need to know they can count on these personal accounts in the future; their retirement security cannot be dependent on the ability of the federal government to balance the budget. Congress needs to make personal accounts permanent without raising taxes on workers.

Supplemental accounts would be too small to help most Americans. If the budget surpluses for the next five years were used to create supplemental accounts, the average 21-year-old would receive an extra $54 per month on top of Social Security at the time of retirement, which represents an increase of only 4.5 percent; a 35-year-old would receive an extra $35 per month; and today's 60-year-old retiree would receive an extra $16 per month. It would be far better to apply the surplus toward real reform of Social Security that would improve the living standard of future retirees.

Voluntary accounts would help primarily the well-to-do. Low- to moderate-income workers--who need additional retirement income the most--would be least able to put money into a voluntary account when surpluses end. Even with tax incentives and federal matches, their income already goes to house payments, living expenses, and doctor bills for their children.

Necessary Additions to the Plan

Congress could improve the President's proposal by making a few simple changes:

Make the accounts part of Social Security. Instead of creating a whole new program, it would make much more sense to make these accounts part of Social Security. The new "Social Security Part B" would encourage Congress to consider these accounts as part of a comprehensive solution to deal with Social Security's existing problems and enhance the retirement security of all Americans.

Earmark a part of the existing tax to continue the plan. The government should fund the accounts with the surplus and then shift to funding them with a portion of the taxes that workers already pay to Social Security. That way, once the surpluses end, the accounts could continue to grow, and the higher returns they earned would allow workers to increase their retirement incomes significantly.

The President seems sincere in his desire to find a real solution for Social Security's problems. Unfortunately, supplemental accounts, at least as he has proposed them, will not do the job. Avoiding the hard choices necessary to save the system will make the situation only worse and place future Social Security retirement benefits in greater jeopardy.

But yeah you're right....why bother with pesky facts...

The fact of the matter is that Bush has had this on his mind since at least 1978 when he first ran for Congress…he wasn’t elected then as he didn’t have anyone rigging the voting machines yet.
======>My fault that I didn't include that stupidity before I posted those two articles. Again i believe that I have successfully proven, again, that Clinton had actually provided that plan and it was good then but now that Bush proposed it it's bad. Duplicious, duplicious, duplicious!

======>How exactly is he stealing these billions and where exactly is he putting it? Facts please, no rumor or conjecture will do. Again the plan that he is putting forth is nothing different than the plan Clinton proposed. So is Clinton as bad as Bush now?

The reality is that it’s the ONLY thing in Bush’s federal budget that isn’t bleeding red all over the place…and THAT is what he calls a “crisis”. And of course…you IGNORED the fact that an organization supposedly based entirely on veterans affairs suddenly attacked the AARP the moment they didn’t go along with Bush’s privatization scheme. THEY ARE A PR FLACK GROUP FOR THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.
======>No I think that I have already established more than amply that this "scheme" was a Clinton idea, ironically giving Clinton some much due credit for a good idea. But then again blaming Kerry's loss on the Swifties is like blaming Bush's poor public speaking skills on the rotation of the Earth.

No, as usual you got it wrong.
====>No as usual I have corrected you mistaken statements in an effort to keep you "fair and ablanced" and so far not one word of thanks.

Cindy Sheehan is not voicing “baseless claims” but is publicly asking a QUESTION.
====>Questions that have been answered over and over again.

Feel free to answer that question all you like. Instead you are attacking HER PERSONALLY, showing that people like you, would have no problem with attacking ANYONE if it threatens your fuehrer.
====>No sir you are mistaken. You claim that she is voicing her opinion as am I. I am of the opinion that she is a victim as well but of the political left who have managed to turn her into nothing more than a circus act to bring more attention to their warped mental masturbations.

You people are COCKROACHES and that is an insult to cockroaches.

====>Actually cockroaches are very important to the food chain and the environment. They are also a source of food in some countries.

How the hell has Moveon exploited Casey Sheehan? By organizing candle light vigils in his memory?
=====>No by using her grief in such a way as to only forward their ideology. Moveon has the ability to bring their liberal media buddies, the same ones who were trying to win Kerry an election and failed miserably, to elevate Cindy Sheehan to celebrity status and let her look incredibly stupid in the process. They are using her like a puppet to forward their anti-military agenda.

I guess the best way to avoid exploiting our fallen troops is to refuse to attend their funerals right?

======>The best way to exploit our troops is to provide their enemies with the necessary propaganda to keep their soldiers motivated to kill us. Much like you, Fonda, Durban, etc are trying to do. What you are is nothing more than a seditious ingrate. You can't even see the fact that what you and your ilk do is disgrace the memories of truly brave and acourageous people who gave up their own personal ambitions for greater ones.

Miami, obviously the media HAS expressed the fact that she met with Bush prior. THAT’S HOW YOU KNOW ABOUT IT.
====>But somehow it hasn't been shown with the same light and intensity as the rest of the story has it? No. The media has barely touched on it. And you have failed to express it unless someone. like myself, brings it to your attention. But again thank me later. I am keeping a running tab...

Again, Cindy has OPENLY said that OVER AND OVER again, BEFORE and AFTER the media paid any attention to her. Ah…so the media is liberally biased because the media YOU watch only shows a few sound bites of what she’s saying?

=====>The media I watch is ALL of the media. Not just CNN, or MSNBC. I watch it all. And yes, you know very well and enjoy that, the media has a very big liberal slant.

You know, winning 4 out of the last 4 presidential elections ain’t bad. By the way, Miami, better get to work on rigging those voting machines.
=====>Yeah. That's good. Keep up that happy thought so when the Dem's lose the next election you can use it for comfort. It's like this big pillow that you all have that you cry into when you realize that no one is buying your product and again it fails miserably to take hold the way it wish it would. Never mind that two major independant recounts by the Miami Herald (hardly a conservative publication) and USA Today had independantly verified that Bush had the majority of votes. But hey you got your pillow...keep crying...

Looking at the 30% approval ratings of the cons in congress, and the 38% approval ratings of Bush, YOU’LL NEED THEM.

=====>Grab that pillow......start your good cry. That's it let it all out. I promise you'll feel better in the morning.

Well I don’t know if you saw it Miami. I have it on DVD. Yes, it was debunked…by a group of liars.
=====>Oh and Michael Moore is the epitomy of truth. HAHAHAHA.

I particularly liked Fahrenhype, which mostly involved Dick Morris ranting his opinions. I guess ole Dicky had to take time out to do it between sucking on hookers’ toes.
===Yeah Clinton was free from sin. Nice try. Really.

=====>Moore's irony is that he was born to rich parents in a rich neighborhood.

But on to Fahrenheit…um WHERE did it make our soldier look like villains? I know! I know! …it was when that soldier looked right in the camera and said “if Donald Rumsfeld was here right now, I’d ask him for his resignation.”

=====>I would explain it to you but....it might give you a migraine. I don't have the heart...I am at the very least a compassionate man.

Like I said before Miami, I’ve read Kopel’s trash. Read THIS link:
FahrenCRAP 9/11

Miami, yes that movie sold theaters out near military bases. Forget the bases, Moore allowed bootleg copies to be sent to our troops in Iraq.
=====>He also made sure that Castro was able to show it for free all over Cuba as part of his anti-American program.

Many of them over there have watched it. The reality is that Disney forced Miramax from releasing it. Why? Because the movie attacked members of the Saudi government. Guess what? Euro Disney has been running red ink for a long time, and those very same Saudis has been bailing them out.

=====>Nice try. Really I think that Moore would have proud of you for that flimsy attempt to associate Disney and the Saudis. Disney knew all of the bad press it would have given them. They aren't about to give up their bottom line to protect Moore's lies.

Ah, no one is forced to be in Iraq? I guess our troops who are stationed there just LOVE getting shot at, right?

=====>Again, you missed the point. No one is forced into the military. No one was snatched from the playground and given a rifle. No one is forced to "be all that they can be." No. Our troops don't like getting shot at. That's a stupid and insulting statement. But the re-enlistment rate is at an all-time high. Must mean that they feel strongly about their service or more people would have bailed after their tours.

It’s called censorship. I guess Bush has a tremendous “respect for the dead” by not attending a single one of their funerals.

====>Are you insane? Really. Honetsly. Do you even read half of this dribble? Or are you secretly taping me while a type this to show later. He is the President of the United States. He can't physically be at EVERY funeral. Was every war-time president at every funeral of a dead soldier.

Wrong, Newsweek admitted that they got a SOURCE wrong. That story has been backed up by THOUSANDS of other articles, DATING BACK YEARS. That is why the US Army ADMITTED TO IT.
======>So then it's ok to print whatever you want even if it's from a bad source so long as it meets your criteria for being politically congruent to your ideas? Newsweek wrote a story based on false information and in turn incited people to riot and innocent civilians died because of it. That's the truth.

=====>Very nicely done. How many times did you have to back up the DVD to copy that down verbatim from Farenheit 9/11? I am gonna guess between 5-10 times.

Wrong…he couldn’t prove they were NOT forged.

=====>Forged. Conclusively forged. Here is the article from MSNBC...

NEW YORK - CBS News apologized Monday for a “mistake in judgment” in its story questioning President Bush’s National Guard service, claiming it was misled by the source of documents that several experts have dismissed as fakes.

The network said it would appoint an independent panel to look at its reporting about the memos. The story has mushroomed into a major media scandal, threatening the reputations of CBS News and chief anchor Dan Rather.

It also has become an issue in the presidential campaign. The White House said the affair raises questions about the connections between CBS’s source, retired Texas National Guard officer Bill Burkett, and Democrat John Kerry’s campaign.

Rather joined CBS News President Andrew Heyward in issuing an apology Monday.

“We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry,” Rather said. “It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism.”

Almost immediately after the story aired Sept. 8, document experts questioned memos purportedly written by Bush’s late squadron leader, Lt. Col. Jerry B. Killian, saying they appeared to have been created on a computer and not on the kind of typewriter in use during the 1970s.

Source admits fabrication
CBS strongly defended its story. It wasn’t until a week later — after Killian’s former secretary said she believed the memos were fake — that the news division admitted they were questionable.

Burkett admitted this weekend to CBS that he lied about obtaining the documents from another former National Guard member, the network said. CBS hasn’t been able to conclusively tell how he got them, or even definitely tell whether they’re fakes or not. But the network has given up trying to defend them.

“Based on what we now know, CBS News cannot prove that the documents are authentic, which is the only acceptable journalistic standard to justify using them in the report,” Heyward said. “We should not have used them.”

CBS said it approached Burkett initially about the documents. Rather said Burkett was well known in National Guard circles for several years for trying to discredit Bush’s military record.

Burkett, in an interview with Rather aired on the “CBS Evening News,” said he was pressured by CBS to reveal his source for the documents, and “I simply threw out a name that was basically, I guess, to get a little pressure off for the moment.”

‘I did mislead you ...’
He said he didn’t fake or forge any documents. “I didn’t totally mislead you,” he said. “I did mislead you about one individual.”

Burkett said he also insisted that CBS authenticate the documents on its own. Two document experts consulted by CBS later said they raised red flags that network officials apparently disregarded. Rather acknowledged CBS failed to properly determine whether the documents were genuine.

The Associated Press could not immediately reach Burkett for comment.

Heyward told The Associated Press it was not clear what, if any, disciplinary action would be taken against CBS News employees. Besides tainting the network’s flagship broadcast, “60 Minutes,” the report was a damaging blow to Rather, 72. Some have suggested the scandal, along with the low ratings of the “CBS Evening News,” could hasten Rather’s retirement.

Network called too slow to respond
“Please know that nothing is more important to us than people’s trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully,” Rather said.

Alex Jones, director of Harvard University’s Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, said it appeared to be an honest mistake by CBS, not a willful attempt to deceive. But he said the network was too slow to respond.

“I think that their delaying and obvious resistance to acknowledge the evident realities has kept the story alive a lot longer than it needed to be and was a lot more damaging to CBS than it needed to be,” he said.

For “60 Minutes,” it’s the biggest ethical mess since the 1995 incident captured in the movie “The Insider,” which depicted the newsmagazine caving to pressure from CBS lawyers and not airing a whistleblowing report from an ex-tobacco executive.

Jones said questions will probably center on the story’s producer, Mary Mapes. She’s one of the network’s top investigators and broke the story of the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal photos. Her immediate boss is Josh Howard, recently named executive producer of the “60 Minutes” Wednesday edition.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan said the White House appreciated CBS’s expression of regret but that there were still serious questions about Burkett.

“Bill Burkett, who CBS now says is their source, in fact is not an unimpeachable source as was previously claimed,” McLellan said. “Bill Burkett is a source who has been discredited and so this raises a lot of questions. There were media reports about Mr. Burkett having senior-level contacts with the Kerry campaign.”

Kerry campaign denies involvement
The Kerry campaign has said it had nothing to do with the story.

Burkett, a Democrat, sent an e-mail last month to several Texas Democrats, saying he had passed along information to former Georgia senator and Kerry supporter Max Cleland about information that would counter criticism of Kerry’s Vietnam War service.

Cleland said Monday that he does “not have any knowledge” about documents used to support the “60 Minutes” story.

Heyward told The AP he has “no reason to believe either the Kerry campaign or the Bush campaign was involved in this.”

“A lot of reporting went into this story,” Heyward said. “It’s not as if one person’s account was taken at face value.”

The call for an independent review was reminiscent of CNN’s “Tailwind” scandal in 1998. The cable network retracted a story that the U.S. military had used nerve gas in Laos during the Vietnam War.

CNN appointed independent panels to look into the “Tailwind” story and the missed election calls of 2000. Both panels helped to restore trust in the network and resulted in real changes to the networks’ operation, said Tom Johnson, CNN’s chief executive at the time.

“As with all professions, we screw up at time,” Johnson said. “We need to admit it when we do.”

The so-called Killian documents indicated he was being pressured to “sugarcoat” the performance ratings of a young Bush, then the son of a former Texas congressman, and that Bush failed to follow orders to take a physical. Killian died in 1984.

Heyward said he did not think CBS’ story was the result of any bias against Bush. The National Guard service story was “a legitimate area of inquiry” that several news organizations were pursuing, he said.

“The story of how this happened is going to be a much more interesting story than the veracity of these documents,” Jones said, “and I hope CBS will tell it.”

Alva,
try explaining to a survivor of the Gulag, Treblinka, or any other concentration camp that Gitmo is a concentration camp. Let me know what they say to you if you are brave enough to even compare the two to someone who survived that.

I don't know how many of them actually gained weight like the Gitmo visitors have during their stay.

Sad.....

Alva,
One word, with a simple definition.
"Idiot: indicated the greatest degree of mental deficiency, where the mental age is 2 years or less, and the person cannot guard himself against common physical dangers. The term is gradually being replaced by the term profound mental retardation. The word is derived from the Greek ιδιωτης, idiôtês, "a private citizen", from ιδιος, idios, "private". In ancient Athens, an "idiot" was a person who declined to take part in public life, such as democratic city government. This was considered irresponsible and so the term became one of derision."

Although, I believe that 'declined' could be replaced with 'incapable of'. Oh yeah. You want proof? Just read any of your posts in this blog. Good luck in life. You'll need it. Not even Democrat leadership (oxy-moron?) could provide the help you really need.

Evan Sayet said...

Democrats are quite literally idiots. They are incapable of rational thought having rejected the notion as being "bigoted."

In the words of the brilliant professor Allan Bloom in his essential "The Closing of the American Mind" (available through my website www.evansayet.com) "indiscriminateness becomes a moral imperative to these people as its opposite is the (evil of) discrimination.

The object of Modern Liberal education and discourse, then, isn't to collect the facts and study the evidence to come to a thoughtful and logical conclusion -- that would be bigotry -- but rather to provide whatever lies, misinformation, disinformation and propaganda that is required to convince themselves (and, they hope, others) that whatever is good, right and successful must have cheated and whatever is evil, wrong and failed must have been victimized.

The Democrat doesn't need fact, evidence or logic since their conclusion is preordained and never changes. This is why they so despise America and do everything in their power to tear it down.

Did the folks at the NY Times really think on the 44th straight day of putting the misdeeds of a couple of pranksters at Abu Gharaib on their front page that in order to honestly, fairly and accurately tell the story of Iraq they needed to rerun that silly story one more time? Of course not. They just thought they had a little something with which they could attack America and since
America is so great that panties on terrorists' heads was the worst they could come up with they ran it and ran it and ran it on the front page every day for a full month and a half!

Missed along the way, of course, were truly important stories like the fact that 96 percent of all Iraqi children are now immunized against disease because that story makes America look good and their agenda is to always attack America.

MiamiMiami said...

I think it is even more telling how the major media, like the NY Times, ignores stories like the Army Specialist who was shot by a sniper, chased down the guy who shot him and after having to shoot him to stop him saved his life (the soldier was a medic). Or the story of how re-enlistment among combat soldiers is the highest it's ever been without instituting a draft including WWII!!
But you won't see those stories. You just won't.

Evan Sayet said...

The Old Media has long since past being just biased and gone all the way to being active participants in the far-leftist agenda. Their goal, then, is to advance the "truth" that America isn't great and that fascist terrorists aren't bad. To do this they will ignore all stories that prove yet again America's goodness and greatness (like the story of the solider who was shot and then, after wounding the terrorist who shot him, administered first aid to him) and run, instead, the story of four night guards who put panties on terrorists heads on their front page every single day for literally a month and a half.

The entire goal of the leftist "education" system, the reason the Old Media forges documents, the purpose behind Newsweeks bogus Koran story, etc. is to "prove" to the people who love America that America isn't that good and that our enemies aren't that bad. Period.

MiamiMiami said...

But you can't discount the ever growing conservative radio shows. People are starting to see that their news can be found elsewhere and THIS is the reason why the "Old Media" is losing it's grip on the propaganda market and is shakingin their boots. This is why Rather thought he could get away with using forgeries in a news story from a crazed Democrat only to be upstaged by conservative blogs and radio shows. This is why when Durbhan the turban was spitting out his stupidity no one in the Old Media picked up on it but lo and behold it was brought to light by shows like Laura Ingraham and Todd Schnitt in Tampa Florida and Rush. Then and only then was the Old Media forced to recognize the inevitable.
