One of the most telling moments of Obama's "um-er-fest" of a performance at the debate on Friday was when he yelled "me, too. I have a bracelet, too" and then couldn't remember the name of the soldier he supposedly cared so much about.
Well, as it turns out, the family of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek had asked Obama to stop using their son's name for his personal gain.
It's not surprising that Obama wouldn't know the name of the soldier nor that he would ignore the wishes of his grieving parents because Obama has ALWAYS been a user, someone who takes advantage of others at any moment for any reason that advances his personal ambitions.
Remember when he was defending his hate-mongering mentor so to justify HIS viciousness, he attacked his own grandmother? Remember when the polls showed that his oration hadn't worked so the same "uncle" he could never disown was quickly disowned and thrown under the bus with his grandmother?
Obama should apologize to the family of Sergeant Jopek and the people should hold him in the contempt that he has repeatedly earned.

Just one more innocent bystander lying under Barack Obama's bus...
Exactly. This isn't the Oxford Union debate. Although commentators like to keep a running point score and pollsters ask "who won?", that isn't where the action is. The importance of the Presidential debates is what, if anything, they reveal about character.
I prefer the rough and tumble, and hence more revealing, style of Parliamentary debate we have in the Commonwealth countries. Many times the American Presidential debates are stilted and booring.
However, telling little slips - like this one of The Unknown Soldier - can occur and reveal character, especially when they match the general behaviour of the candidate.

Soldier's mother 'ecstatic' about Obama's bracelet
By DINESH RAMDE – 36 minutes ago
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The mother of a Wisconsin soldier who died in Iraq says she was "ecstatic" when Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama mentioned during Friday's debate the bracelet she gave him in honor of her son.
Tracy Jopek of Merrill told The Associated Press on Sunday she was honored that Obama remembered Sgt. Ryan David Jopek, who was killed in 2006 by a roadside bomb.
She criticized Internet reports suggesting Obama, D-Ill., exploited her son for political purposes.
Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet.
"I've got a bracelet, too, from Sergeant — from the mother of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek, given to me in Green Bay," Obama said during the debate. "She asked me, 'Can you please make sure another mother is not going through what I'm going through?' No U.S. soldier ever dies in vain because they're carrying out the missions of their commander in chief. And we honor all the service that they've provided."
Jopek says Obama's comment rightfully suggested there's more than one viewpoint on the war.
furthermore, it is obvious that obama wanted to make certain that he adhered to the wishes and intent of the sargent's mother by saying only that the sargent's mother had given him the bracelet and by quoting her.
you are such a liar, evan.
that was another one of those bridges to nowhere, evan.
thanks, but no thanks........
Obama Moves Up, McCain Down in Poll--HA!
By Gallup.com

PrintShareText SizeAAA(Sept. 28) - Barack Obama leads John McCain, 50% to 42% among registered voters in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday -- just one point shy of his strongest showing of the year.
These results, from Sept. 25-27, span the time period since John McCain made the announcement that he was temporarily suspending his campaign and returning to Washington to work for a bipartisan solution to the financial crisis, and since Congressional leaders first announced progress towards the resolution of a financial bailout bill. Results since March are shown here:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/107674/Interactive-Graph-Follow-General-Election.aspx
The results also include one complete day (Saturday) after the first presidential debate on Friday night. McCain had reached a point where he was tied with Obama earlier in the week, but Obama has gained steadily in each of the last three days' reports. Overall, Obama has gained four percentage points over the last three days, while McCain has lost four points, for an eight-point swing in the "gap" or margin.
The full impact of the debate and its aftermath will not be reflected in the tracking data until Tuesday's report, which will be based on interviewing conducted Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Still, Gallup's one-day read on the standing of the two candidates on Saturday suggests that Obama held the lead over McCain among registered voters that night, just as he had for the two previous nights.
Obama reached an eight-point lead or higher twice before, once after his highly publicized foreign tour to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Europe in July, and once after the Democratic National Convention. In both of these instances, Obama's relatively large lead was short-lived; McCain came charging back to tie the race in both cases. Thus history would suggest the potential for future shifts in voter preferences and for McCain to bounce back once again.
Additionally, major news events relating to the campaign will be forthcoming over the next several weeks -- including the final resolution of Congress' efforts to pass a financial bailout bill and three more debates (two presidential, and one vice presidential), all of which could have the potential for future shifts in voter preferences. Obama has held at least a moderate edge over McCain for the vast majority of the days of Gallup Poll Daily tracking since June, and overall has led by an average of about three points in the over 100,000 interviews conducted by Gallup during this time period.
lol...sayet caught AGAIN.
I think they just make this stuff up because they've got nothing else.
It's taking them a long time to learn that lying thing is not working for them anymore.
And, by the look of the polls, nothing else is either.
However, telling little slips - like this one of The Unknown Soldier - can occur and reveal character...
lol...really?
Well, someone's character is being revealed.
"McCain, once the candidate of tested experience, must now battle the perception that he has become the riskier choice, a man too given to rash moves under pressure. Obama, whose very newness promised change but also raised doubts, has emerged as the cool and unruffled candidate who moves calmly but steadily forward."
Obama was 75% catchphrases, talking points, and buzz words (drilled into him by his team of his advisors), 15%
"I agree with Senator McCain," and 10% "Uh-oh-ah-uh-uh."
He has a good resonant voice, though. And youth. And he's not a bad looking guy who knows how to frown in seriousness and/or diasapproval. And he's black.
And th-th-th-th-that's all, folks.
Apart from the fact that he forgot the name of the soldier he was supposedly honouring with the bracelet, what was also telling was the lack of any sign of discomfort at that lapse - an ability displayed only by the practised liar. Others would have shown some sign, even if not a full on blush.
hahaha...fun to stop in and see them in their little dream world.
Huge populist backlash against their financial backers and manipulators brewing.
And, these fools don't even have the survival instincts of a rat which, at least, knows when to abandon ship.
I love this: "Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet."
Add "mind reader" to the other amazing abilities of The One. He knew she would see it that way on the night, despite having written instructions not to use the name.
Hello Evan it’s David or... (HEYOK) whichever you prefer. Remember me? We had several emails and multiple comment exchanges last spring. AND then when the FACTS were stated you disappeared back here to this blog to write stuff like your blog above?
Like the latest SNL skit... satirist like you aren’t even needed anymore... all the writers have to do to get laughs is quote the candidates...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeMypXCUWMw
Is your book forthcoming? I’m actually anxious to read it.
As usual in the “discussions” we’ve had I question your words and with that your point. You say Obama yelled. DID HE YELL???? Like he YELLED? Really??
You’re a liar and a scamp... so glad to see so many people have caught on to you. Remember when you tried to argue that every person who saw you on youtube agreed with you or else they wouldn’t have watched? Just a laugh back on my part. So sad for you now. The facts are adding up.
AGAIN: Like the latest SNL skit... satirist like you aren’t even needed anymore... all the writers have to do to get laughs is quote the candidates...

IMO neither candidate should have singled out “A” soldier they support. The president of the USA simply can’t focus on one person, one persons views, one group, one groups views............. The USA is huge. Both candidates were wrong to jangle their bracelets. Who was less or more wrong? I say - “who started it?”
Blessings as always,
David

Giuliani's law firm seeking bailout business
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
4:39 PM EDT, September 26, 2008
In the midst of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has begun drumming up business, positioning his law firm to advise corporate clients on how to profit from the government's $700 billion bailout.
Bracewell & Giuliani LLP announced it has formed a corporate task force to advise "financial institutions, private investment funds, institutional investors and other market participants" on the costly package.
"Our team of former government officials and experienced attorneys in the fields of legislation, enforcement and finance are equipped to guide institutions in this quickly evolving and complex environment," Giuliani said.
A firm spokeswoman declined to provide any further details and referred to the announcement.
Bracewell isn't the only group poised to profit if a deal is reached for the federal government to bail out the struggling financial system by buying up billions in bad mortgages and other toxic assets.
Among those who could make money are hedge funds, private equity firms and bankers, not to mention legions of accountants, financial consultants and law firms such as Bracewell & Giuliani.
"Invest in lawyers, they're going to have a field day in the coming years," said Axel Merk, portfolio manager at Merk Funds.
Bracewell says it has the legal and government experience to help clients understand whatever legislation Congress eventually passes. One of the task force members is Marc Mukasey, a former federal prosecutor and son of U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey.
"Mr. Giuliani and his partners will not be the only persons to profit from this," said Anthony Sabino, professor of law and business at St. John's University. "He's entitled to seize the opportunity. Certainly this will be a bonanza for those that advise the business community."

Golleeee, Evan, I didn't know Obama had killed his grandmother and his uncle.
He is so vicious and hateful.
How can such a terrible man be president?
I think when Sarah's pregant daughter marries that drug using vandal who likes to blow animals away for fun like Sarah does that well Mr. Mac's campaign will take off again from the toilet it's in now.
Don't you?
McClown claims credit for bailout...just before it collapsed due to the GOP votes he DID NOT deliver!!!
This fool is a senile version of GW...who thought anyone could be worse?
Evan, that video you featured a few posts back was yanked.
the repubs want to put the u.s. down the toilet because someone made a speech that the didn't like? really. they were looking for an excuse.
that's "they didn't like"--the republicans don't care about the economy. They just care about some silly speech. how dumb!
Evan,
Thanks for your insight. It is right on.
Would it be possible for you to start moderating the comments? It really does get wearisome wading through the dreck.
Thanks,
Anon Y. Moose
Well guess what folks... the soldier's family DOESN'T want Obama exploiting their son's death anymore. They've asked him to stop... but Barack keeps throwing him under the bus, anyway...
Seems the soldier's mom originally was 'ecstatic' when she gave Obama the bracelet, but soured after seeing Obama's countless exploitations of her son's memory...
I guess not every dead veteran's mom is a Cindy She-Ham.
lol...these morons are so desperate and stupid they post stuff proving they're lying:
from her own article...
She did, however, claim that she was "satisfied" with how Obama discussed the bracelet in the presidential debates last week.
This pathetic trivia is why the poor boobs are so far down in the polls in the first place...but they just can't help themselves.
They have a severe, congenital mental disease.
CBS has announced that it will be airing more of the Couric interview with Palin on Wednesday and Thursday.
GOP David Brooks said he found the first part too painful to watch. It's just not fair of the press to be exposing a bimbo like this.
If she doesn't work out as President, we can get rid of her after four years if there's anything left of the country.
Like you've never blanked out in front of an audience.
Let's take a second to think through the attack on me from "Suze." First, it is impossible to the leftist that anyone might simply be "wrong." Everyone who dares to disagree with them is a LIAR.
But, alas, I wasn't wrong. In fact, if Suze had bothered to read past the AP's leftist inspired headline she'd have seen this:
"Jopek acknowledged e-mailing the Obama campaign in February asking that the presidential candidate not mention her son in speeches or debates. But she said Obama's mention on Friday was appropriate because he was responding after Sen. John McCain, the Republican nominee, said a soldier's mother gave him a bracelet."
So, in fact, Evan DIDN'T lie -- in fact he got it exactly right yet again. Even if the mother was supposedly "ecstatic" Obama was asked NOT to use the soldier's name for personal gain and he did. Period.
Like anybody gives a shit.
Have you heard of the GOP Great Depression II, birdbrain?
They're flailing ridiculously since they don't have Clinton's cock to scream about anymore.
And their silly, little lies about trivialities are no longer working.
Evan, suze is in high school.
m-nite's a textbook leftist: a projecting, lying sack of stinking shit.
The causes of the "Great Depression II" have been discovered.
no, evan, you are lying. he mentioned the sargent's mother's wishes.
as for lying, evan, you have a long, consistent history of "being wrong."
you're either a liar or you're stupid.
btw, midnite is right. who gives a shit about the bracelet. the answer: no one but idiots like evan who don't want to discuss such things as the ineptitude of sarah palin or the senility of mccain.
With their record and ideology, what else can they do but lie.
And, now that the msm is finally cracking down on Palin/McCain for it, they're in deep shit.
The more they repeat something, now, the more people disbelieve it...even if they do say something true by accident.
What's really funny is how, overnight, they were the big time socialist regulators all along...and Phil Gramm is a longtime member of the politburo.
Keep telling us how it's the left who gave us all that dereg stuff, buddy...that's the kind of laugh the country needs right now.
at any rate, lying dumbasses gorable and evan, get your facts straight. the husband made a false claim:

EDITORIAL: Jopek takes center stage in war debate
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama unleashed a bit of a blogosphere firestorm when he referred during Friday night's debate to Merrill soldier Ryan Jopek.
Obama mentioned Jopek, who died Aug. 2, 2006, in a roadside bomb explosion, in response to a point made by opponent John McCain.
During the debate, McCain said he wears a bracelet given to him by a New Hampshire woman in honor of her fallen son. She requested that the Republican senator see the war in Iraq through to victory so her son's death would not be in vain, McCain said.
Obama responded that he, too, wears a bracelet, given him by Jopek's mother, Tracy, during a campaign stop in Green Bay. He went on to say that he wears it to remind him of a president's responsibility to ensure that the country uses its military wisely.
That touched off two storms, one predictable -- "How dare (insert candidate's name here) exploit a soldier's death for political gain" -- and one less expected.
Tracy Jopek, you see, had asked Obama in an e-mail to his staff not to use her son's bracelet to score political points. That fact scorched the Internet over the weekend, particularly when some bloggers noted that Ryan Jopek's father also had weighed in on the bracelet issue back in March.
In an interview with Wausau's Glen Moberg on Wisconsin Public Radio, Brian Jopek claimed -- inaccurately -- that his former wife had asked Obama not to wear the bracelet at all.
So central Wisconsin, via the Jopek family and Moberg, now has played a prominent role in this chapter of the 2008 presidential race.
But let's not focus on petty blogosphere squabbles. Instead, listen to what Tracy Jopek told an Associated Press reporter when asked about the controversy:
"I am a mother, a mother who lost her son. It's hard to know what's right, what's wrong about this war. Very hard," she said. "And I know there are a lot of families who lost loved ones."
Tracy Jopek, in that one brief paragraph, captured the angst so many of us feel about this war.
It's very hard to know what's right and what's wrong. Were we right to go into Iraq in the first place? Was ridding the world of Saddam Hussein worth the terrible price so many families have paid? Would leaving at this point do more harm than good?
No one knows the answers to those questions. But they should be discussed, and discussed at length, during the remainder of this presidential campaign.
Today, the troubled American economy seems to be garnering the bulk of candidates' attention, which is natural. But a year or two ago, the election was expected to pivot on the war.
Americans, including Tracy Jopek, still want to hear candidates debate their views.
