Obama Attacks War Hero for his Wounds

So Obama has "taken the gloves off..." How many times does THAT make. How many pairs of gloves does this guy wear (and how many of them are those sexy, frilly kind that society women ware up to their elbows?)

By "taking off the gloves," what leftists mean is that they go the hysterical and mean to the really really hysterical and mean. So don't vote for John McCain goes the latest ad, because, since he was beaten to a pulp defending America he can't use the internet without help! Amazing...but not the least bit surprising from the self-proclaimed protege of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the right-hand man to domestic terrorist William Ayers and a guy who had no problem trading favors with mobsters like Syrian-born T. Rezko.

So the "post-partisan" leftist who reached all the way over one seat to pick the THIRD most radical leftist in the United States Senate to be his running mate and attack dog, is suddenly now not just "partisan" (and remember when the guy who constantly plays the race card was going to be "post-racial"?) but he attacks a war hero for his wounds.

Sad...but not surprising. I smell landslide.

Could you elaborate on this? Because when Ayers was a terrorist, obama was 8 years old.

Your first link didn't work.

the second link is not really so great -- it's mostly speculation. The guys says things like:

My best guess, though, is that it was in that 86-88 time frame that Obama likely met up with the Ayers family.

I can only speculate, but it is possible that Tom Ayers introduced Obama to Sidley. That might have happened if Obama had met up with Bill and Tom and John Ayers prior to attending law school when Obama's DCP group was supporting the reform act passed in 1988.

This is just speculation. Where are the FACTS, y'all, that say Obama was Bill Ayers' "right hand man"??? Some guy speculating on his blog is, i have to admit, not very convincing.

Facts? Like this?

However, the Ayers/Hallett proposal was successful in the end with the decision made in late 1994. In January of 1995 the formal announcement of a grant of $49.2 million was made. That money would have to be matched by contributions from the private and public sector 2:1 for a total amount over the life of the project of approximately $150 million dollars to be disbursed in Chicago.

In fact, by the end of 1999 the CAC had raised slightly more than $50 million from public sources and nearly $60 million from private sources, for a total of $160 million to be disbursed in Chicago area schools.

The CAC set up an office in rent-free space at the University of Illinois at Chicago, in the same Department of Education building where Bill Ayers taught.

The CAC Structure: The Board and the Collaborative work hand in glove

The Ayers/Hallett proposal described a three-piece structure established to carry out the CAC. The three “over-lapping entities each of which has clear tasks and responsibilities” included:

“The Chicago Annenberg Challenge Board (the Board); the Chicago School Reform Collaborative (the Collaborative); and the Consortium of Chicago Schools Research (CCSR).”

The Board would handle “all fiscal matters” including raising the required 2:1 matching funds (nearly $100 million required in a five year period) and “creating a grant-making system to disperse monies to schools and networks.” The Board would hire the Project Director, a full time professional staff position.

The first chairman of the CAC Board was Barack Obama, at that point, 33 years old and a third year associate at Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, a small Chicago law firm.

Obama took over the reins of the Board in early 1995 and stepped down from the chairmanship in late 1999, though he remained on the Board until the CAC phased itself out of existence and handed off its remaining assets to a permanent new institution, the Chicago Public Education Fund, in 2001.
The Board began to meet in March of 1995 and formally incorporated the CAC as a non-profit entity in April 1995.

Other board members included numerous already prominent Chicagoans: Susan Crown, Vice President of the Henry Crown Company; Patricia A. Graham, President of The Spencer Foundation; Stanley Ikenberry, President-emeritus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Handy Lindsey, Executive Director of the Field Foundation; Arnold Weber, former President of Northwestern University and then President of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of Chicago; and Wanda White, Executive Director of the Community Workshop on Economic Development. Some of these individuals would resign and be replaced by other equally prominent Chicagoans.

The second operating entity of the CAC would be the Collaborative that would represent various constituencies in the Chicago schools and wider community. It would be:

“A clearing-house for ideas, for resources, for information – the place where strategies are created, successes and failures analyzed, and plans made and shared. The Collaborative under the leadership of the [Project] Director will publicize the Challenge, develop the RFP [Requests for Proposals] and application criteria, host seminars to inform and assist schools through the process, select participating schools, establish working groups, oversee program evaluation, develop the metropolitan strategy, broker waivers and resources, and provide services for networks. In other words, the Collaborative is the place where the Challenge digs its deepest roots into the community and the schools – and it is the heart of the operational work.”

The co-chair of the CAC’s Collaborative from 1995 until 2000 was Bill Ayers. In 1997 Ayers was named Chicago's "Citizen of the Year" for his work on the CAC.

Thus, the leaders of the two operative arms of the CAC from its inception until 2000 were Bill Ayers and Barack Obama.

No wonder these sickos want to talk about bogus inanities like O's tair connections...don't take the bait, Dora...

John McCain's top economic advisor, former Sen. Phil Gramm, is the guy who authored the deregulation law that most agree is the ultimate cause of today's financial meltdown. Tomorrow's and probably next week's too. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. John Thain, CEO of Merrill Lynch, which swirled into brokerage oblivion today, is one of McCain's top economic advisors too. And now McCain says he's going to clean up the mess by putting in tighter regulations and oversight even though he's always supported lax oversight and his top economics guy is the one who loosened the rules in the first place.

HOT-Virginia GOP ex-Governor to Campaign for Obama

Mon Sep 15, 2008
Former GOP governor Linwood Holton today endorsed a Democrat for president for the first time and is going to stump critical areas of the state for him.

Linwood Holton is the hero of moderate Republicans in Virginia. Holton is widely regarded as the father of the Republican party in Virginia. When Richmond public schools were ordered integrated Holton enrolled his children in the AA school close to the governor's mansion and walked them to school.

He supported his son-in-law Tim Kaine for governor but has never supported a Democratic presidential candidate.

Holton and his daughter, Anne, will campaign Monday and Tuesday in Southwest Virginia. The tour will be a homecoming for Holton, who was born in Big Stone Gap.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/...

The Holtons will hold community forums in Wise, Abingdon and Galax tomorrow, and in Wytheville, Christiansburg and Roanoke on Tuesday, the Obama campaign said yesterday.

http://www.inrich.com/...

Don't underestimate Holton's influence with independents and moderate Republicans in Virginia. Public buildings and schools all over the state, and especially in southwest Virginia, are named for him. Not only endorsing but actually stumping the state for Obama is a very big plus

Following his loss to George W. Bush in the 2000 South Carolina primary, John McCain did something extraordinary: He confessed to lying about how he felt about the Confederate battle flag, which he actually abhorred. "I broke my promise to always tell the truth," McCain said. Now he has broken that promise so completely that the John McCain of old is unrecognizable. He has become the sort of politician he once despised.

The precise moment of McCain's abasement came, would you believe, not at some news conference or on one of the Sunday shows but on "The View," the daytime TV show created by Barbara Walters. Last week, one of the co-hosts, Joy Behar, took McCain to task for some of the ads his campaign has been running. One deliberately mischaracterized what Barack Obama had said about putting lipstick on a pig -- an Americanism that McCain himself has used. The other asserted that Obama supported teaching sex education to kindergarteners.

"We know that those two ads are untrue," Behar said. "They are lies."

Freeze. Close in on McCain. This was the moment. He has largely been avoiding the press. The Straight Talk Express is now just a brand, an ad slogan like "Home Cooking" or "We Will Not Be Undersold." Until then, it was possible for McCain to say that he had not really known about the ads, that the formulation "I approve this message" was just boilerplate. But he didn't.

"Actually, they are not lies," he said.

Actually, they are.

McCain has turned ugly. His dishonesty would be unacceptable in any politician, but McCain has always set his own bar higher than most. He has contempt for most of his colleagues for that very reason: They lie. He tells the truth. He internalizes the code of the McCains -- his grandfather, his father: both admirals of the shining sea. He serves his country differently, that's all -- but just as honorably. No more, though.

I am one of the journalists accused over the years of being in the tank for McCain. Guilty. Those doing the accusing usually attributed my feelings to McCain being accessible. This is the journalist-as-puppy school of thought: Give us a treat, and we will leap into a politician's lap.

Not so. What impressed me most about McCain was the effect he had on his audiences, particularly young people. When he talked about service to a cause greater than oneself, he struck a chord. He expressed his message in words, but he packaged it in the McCain story -- that man, beaten to a pulp, who chose honor over freedom. This had nothing to do with access. It had to do with integrity.

McCain has soiled all that. His opportunistic and irresponsible choice of Sarah Palin as his political heir -- the person in whose hands he would leave the country -- is a form of personal treason, a betrayal of all he once stood for. Palin, no matter what her other attributes, is shockingly unprepared to become president. McCain knows that. He means to win, which is all right; he means to win at all costs, which is not.

At a forum last week at Columbia University, McCain said, "But right now we have to restore trust and confidence in government." This was always the promise of John McCain, the single best reason to vote for him. America has been cheated on too many times -- the lies of Vietnam and Watergate and Iraq. So many lies. Who believes that in Afghanistan last month, only five civilians were killed by the American military in an airstrike, instead of the approximately 90 claimed by the Afghan government? Not me. I first gave up on the military during Vietnam and then again when it covered up the death of Pat Tillman, the Army Ranger and former NFL player who was killed in 2004 by friendly fire.

McCain was going to fix all that. He was going to look the American people in the eyes and say, not me. I will not lie to you. I am John McCain, son and grandson of admirals. I tell the truth.

But Joy Behar knew better. And so McCain lied about his lying and maybe thinks that if he wins the election, he can -- as he did in South Carolina -- renounce who he was and what he did and resume his old persona. It won't work. Karl Marx got one thing right -- what he said about history repeating itself. Once is tragedy, a second time is farce. John McCain is both.

Since Ayers hired him for the board of CAC. Obama was Ayers lackey then, and he's still his lackey now. Obama would still be a nobody today had the hard left not sent him to Harvard Law and then given him a seat on their Board of Directors. Ayers owns Obama, lock, stock and barrel.

A Petri Dish of Conservatism
Tue Sep 16, 2008 at 10:24:59 AM PDT
The financial tidal waves keep coming. Next up may be one of the largest companies in the world:

As the markets closed, its stock slid to $4.76 a share, down from a 52-week high of $70 a share, representing the evaporation of $176 billion in market value in less than one year. While regulators were racing to find some kind of capital infusion that could keep the company standing, ratings agencies slashed AIG's credit rating, making it much more expensive for the insurer to do business. AIG—a company with $110 billion in revenues last year and $1 trillion in assets—has suddenly gone from being the gold standard in its industry to fighting for survival. The sheer speed of its descent has stunned employees, customers, and many in the industry.

This isn't a case of simply blaming the people in charge when something bad happens. It's a manifestation of the contempt for knowledge, celebration of ignorance, and deification of greed that has come to define the modern conservative movement. It is reflected in failed policies stretching from Baghdad to Bourbon Street and now Wall Street.

The financial crises is in part a result of appointing unqualified political cronies who don't enforce oversight regulations that exist, and allowing industry lobbyists to write new laws overturning procedures specifically enacted to prevent economic catastrophe in the wake of the Great Depression. This crisis was brought to you by conservative ideology. Give 'em another four years and they might just do more damage than the rest of us can repair in a generation.

Ayers is a radical leftist terrorist and Obama was his right hand man, advancing his terrorist goals only now under the guise of "education."
