It's Hard Always Being Right II

I know I owe you guys a lot more than this but I got notes back from the publisher and, well, that takes precedence.

I do have two big pieces in the hopper, I just don't feel comfortable enough yet with either of them to post them now. Maybe soon.

In the meantime, it was way back when, perhaps at the time of the Iowa caucuses or maybe just after New Hampshire. Who knows, maybe it was even post South Carolina. In my piece I was equivocating over my predictions about the long and the short term outlook for the leftist candidates. I concluded with a line that, in its essence said "no one can know for sure where this race is going to end up. But I do know one thing for certain, if Hillary wins, the Democrats will scream that America is "racist," if Obama wins, the Democrats will scream that America is sexist. Either way, America can't win, but those who hate America -- the leftists -- can't lose..."

Well, here's a quote from America's "newspaper of record," the hate-America-always leftists at the New York Times, written by one of their top eight or nine top hate-America-always leftist columnists, the perpetually aggrieved Maureen Dowd:

"People will have to choose which of America's sins are greater, and which stain will have to be removed first. Is misogyny worse than racism, or is racism worse than misogyny?" Really, that's what this election is about, how to "make it up to" women or blacks? I thought it was about keeping America safe, I thought it was about keeping America free. I thought it was about continuing to grow an economy that perhaps -- just perhaps -- now, after sixty-plus straight months of uninterrupted economic growth, might be starting to slow down.

But, alas, Democrats don't think in those terms. Everything is about race and gender and other such meaningless things.

Meanwhile, take note, that the only one not mentioned in this quote is John McCain. To the Democrat the ONLY person America owes nothing to is the war hero, the former POW and the statesman who didn't begin running for the presidency before he/she had even served a day in the Senate.

Frankly, I think the reason Ms. Dowd did not mention John McCain in this quote is that she's a POW-a-phobe.

LOL, enjoyable post, but you've left the fans that love to hate you with a lot of room to call YOU a racist, or misogynist, or a racist-misogynist for merely mentioning that the DNC candidates are black, or female.

The fallacy of the Leftist argument lies in that even if Hillary were elected, the women's lobby would NEVER let American forget the so-called sexism of it's past... and the same goes for racism.

Leftists are perpetually aggrieved. They think it gives them a moral advantage. But just how amoral is a policy of "never forget, never forgive?"

This entry proves it - this site isn't a reactionary, far-right smear site, it's a parody of a reactionary, far-right smear site. No reasonable person could possibly believe that Maureen Dowd, or the home-of-Bill-Kristol New York Times represents anything close to "liberal America". Do you understand this, two or three followers of Evan who think he's serious? He's putting you on.

Hey Evan!

Yep, race and gender. The candidates insist that this election is NOT about identity politics while pontificating about...identity politics! And their spouses are unbelievable. I think it was Tammy Bruce who said something like, "If Michelle Obama woke up tomorrow morning and wasn't black, I really don't think she'd have anything to talk about."

Speaking of Maureen Dowd, her crazy-eyed, evil twin sister, Gloria Steinem, had almost exactly the same things to say about the election in the NY Observer:

"By contrast, Steinem told me the Illinois senator was “an intelligent, well-intentioned person.” She added: “I would like very much to see him be president for eight years after Hillary has been president for eight years.” But she also opined that “a majority of Americans want redemption for racism, for our terrible destructive racist past and so see a vote for Obama as redemptive.” Then, using a term for the mass killing of women, she added, “I don’t think as many want redemption for the gynocide.”

The GYNOCIDE? Someone needs to tell both of these women that the 60s are over and their glory days are long behind them. For them to conclude that this election is about America's desperate attempt to decide which protected class it most wants forgiveness and redemption from only denigrates their own candidates. I thought feminism was about equality, but apparently Hillary's most significant qualification to become the President (according to her own supporters) is that she is owed some giant, symbolic apology. And Obama apparently should get the job because white Americans feel guilty about racism in the past that they didn't even participate in. That sure says a lot about his qualifications, doesn't it?

Evan has hit the nail on the head!

It's Identity Politics, rather than actually trying to serve the American people, regardless of the group that the balkanizing Demo-crats want to pidgeonhole us all.

In Montag's World, I call it
"Looking Through Race Colored Glasses". It is a very shortsighted and monomaniacal way of viewing the world. It is also doomed to self-destruction since the supposed "needs" of one group often conflict with another's. Hence the divide between the gender hustlers and the race hustlers.

And saying that Maureen Dowd doesn't represent Liberals doesn't make Ms. Down any less Liberal. It just makes "Evan is a boil..." even more beyond the pale and into extremism.

George Orwell is alive and well, and is writing talking points for the Left so they can try to deny that the Legacy Media is really a tool of the Democrats and the Liberal elites.

Honestly the last war hero democrats stood behind denounced America and accused all the soldiers he served with of being rapists and murderers.

Democrats pick up Hastert's seat as sweaty wrestler goes down!!

Hahaha...this is funny stuff. It's about id politics as GOPig's appeal to ugly, fat, dumb people goes in the toilet:

In a race that will likely send tremors throughout the House GOP leadership, Republicans lost former House Speaker Dennis Hastert’s seat Saturday in a hotly contested special election in exurban Chicago.

Physicist Bill Foster, a Democrat running in his first political campaign, is heading to Congress after defeating Republican dairy owner Jim Oberweis in a result that was unthinkable just weeks ago.

With all precincts reporting, Foster defeated Oberweis 53 to 47 percent.

The special election was to fill the remainder of Hastert’s unexpired term. A rematch between the two candidates for the full term will be held in November.

Oberweis is widely known in the area because of his dairy business. But he was not able to win even in Hastert’s home base of Kendall County, a reliably Republican fast-growing county in exurban Chicago. Voters there favored Foster by a narrow margin.

The loss is a huge psychological blow to the Republican Party, already reeling from a slew of congressional retirements and fundraising woes. Democrats hadn’t contested Hastert’s seat since 1986 and, in Foster, had a political novice running in a traditionally Republican district.

The National Republican Congressional Committee spent $1.2 million on the race -- nearly one-fifth of its entire cash on hand — in a failed attempt to hold on to what many political observers felt would be a fairly easy seat to retain.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spent just over $1 million in ads attacking Oberweis.

“Congratulations to Bill Foster on his victory tonight. Bill Foster’s victory in the seat that was held by Speaker Hastert sends a political shock wave across America this election year. It is a stunning rejection of the Bush administration, its Republican allies and presidential nominee John McCain," the DCCC chairman, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), said in a statement.

“Despite spending 20 percent of the their cash on hand, the NRCC was unable to hold a seat easily won by President Bush and held by Speaker Hastert for 20 years."

Both parties’ leading presidential candidates spent time in the district to campaign for Foster and Oberweis. The Foster campaign aired an advertisement in the campaign’s final week featuring Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) touting Foster’s ability to bring change to Washington.

Obama congratulated Foster on his upset victory late Saturday night, arguing that his win "shows that change is sweeping this country."

By electing him to a traditionally Republican seat -- a seat that former Speaker Dennis Hastert held for 20 years -- the people of Illinois have sent an unmistakable message that they’re tired of business-as-usual in Washington," Obama said in a statement.

And Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) appeared alongside Oberweis last month before hosting a fundraiser that netted the Oberweis campaign nearly $257,000.

If Maureen Dowd doesn't represent "Liberal America" who does, DU or Moveon or CodePink? Good for you. I thought so.

Anonymous said...

There is nothing "conservative" about the opinions here. This place is a litany of ad hominems and straw-man arguments. Liberals are no more "represented" by any group than conservatives are. Grown ups realize this - that the idea of homogeneity among a political group is foolish in the extreme. That American political parties have tailored their messages to appeal to broad swaths of the populace and, as such, encompass a diverse body of opinions about just about every issue. That self-identified "Democrats", just like self-identified "Republicans", are sometimes happy and sometimes disenchanted by the party that represents them. That party popularity ebbs and flows and allows the party to alter its message when things go off the track. And that things have very clearly gone off the track for the Republicans and need, essentially, a complete purge of the elements that have led them into their self-destructive mess. These are the things that thinking adults (and, really, many children) can clearly understand, and the things that Sayet and his mindless followers clearly can't.

Now that he is the presumptive Republican nominee for president, McCain appears eager to shore up his anti-torture credentials. In an appearance on CBS's 60 Minutes, McCain replied, "Sure, yes, without a doubt" when asked if waterboarding is torture.

"We prosecuted Japanese war criminals after World War II," McCain went on, "and one of the charges brought against them, for which they were convicted, was that they waterboarded Americans."

Asked "how did we lose our way," McCain answered, "I don't know the answer to that. I think one of the failures maybe was not to listen more to our military leadership, including people like general Colin Powell on this issue."

Wow! Talk about your constitutional scholars! You claim that even though the Democrats control both Houses of Congress, they've no responsibility for establishing spending priorities for the nation's economy. Perhaps you also believe that Bush has carte blanche to spend the nearly $3 trillion the government budgeted this year on whatever he wants.... And while he's at it, Bush might as well stop selling T-bills to finance the debt, de-monetarize the financial system and let real laissez-faire economics rule!

Of course, who needs Congress to set spending caps. Bush can just take the lid off and let the GPO print us up a couple of trill in $10 and $20's. Woo-Hoo! Party time! And since Congress isn't needed to set taxes Bush doesn't need Congress to roll those suckers back... let the good times roll!

Congrats to all you free-wheeling free-love progressives... you've achieveded a new record of infecting the US population with your diseased lifestyle...

One in four teenage girls in the United States has a sexually-transmitted disease, a study has indicated.

The study, by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), found an even higher prevalence of STDs among black girls.

Researchers analysed data from a nationally representative sample of 838 US girls aged 14 to 19.

A virus that causes cervical cancer - HPV - was the most common, followed by chlamydia, trichomoniasis and herpes.

The CDC says the study is the first in its kind to examine the prevalence of common sexually transmitted diseases among adolescent girls.

It found that nearly half of the African-American girls surveyed had at least one STD, while the rate was 20% among white and Mexican-American teenagers.

Human papillomavirus, or HPV, affected 18% of the girls surveyed, chlamydia 4%, trichomoniasis 2.5%, and herpes simplex virus 2%.

Wow, liberal values are on a roll! I suppose we can thank the Darma & Greg crew for this!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. syphilis rate rose for the seventh straight year in 2007, driven by a continued surge in cases among homosexual and bisexual men, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Wednesday.

Since 2000, when the national syphilis rate sank to a low of 2.1 per 100,000 people after a decade of progress in the 1990s, the rate has soared by 76 percent, the CDC reported.

Homosexual and bisexual men accounted for 64 percent of syphilis cases in 2007, up from about 5 percent in 1999.

CDC officials expressed concern not only because the recent increases in this bacterial sexually transmitted disease follows years of declines, but also because syphilis can elevate a person's risk of being infected with the AIDS virus and the odds of giving it to someone else.

They also called rises among women and blacks troubling.

The overall national rate of syphilis rose by 16 percent in 2007 from 2006, reaching 3.7 cases per 100,000 people, based on preliminary CDC data released at a meeting in Chicago.

The rate for men was 6.4 per 100,000, a 14 percent rise from 2006.

Oh Lord...even Evan Sayet's blog is not safe from those greedy, space-hogging, irrational prose-perverts of the Left (witness the hijacking of this blogspace by Anonymous). Why is it that these close-minded types are incabable of sane, intellectual discourse? Why must they post these boring, run-on tantrums; these pathetic irrational tirades? Is it no wonder that more and more thoughtful folk are tuning out their bizarre ravings? Truly, no one takes them seriously anymore...and for this reason, they become more and more unhinged! Consequently, more and more democratic (and I don't mean the political party) thinking people are seeking sources of discourse--like Evan Sayet--who have experienced both sides of the political fence, and have a coherent message to impart! As is expected (sadly), when "one of their own defects to the other side", a political "fatwah" is issued against the defector!
Now the Democratic Party has vomited up two candidates short on substance, and long on style. In their zeal to present niche candidates (ostensibly to appeal to a fragmented constituency), the Democratic Party has created an abomination! It's a two-headed hydra (Obama/Clinton) presently bent on decapitation of one of the heads. It's excruciating to watch the suicidal/cannibalistic manner in which the Democratic Party is comporting itself. Obama and Clinton are like involuntarily conjoined twins, forced to duke it out at some Orwellian "ultimate fighting" forum (the Democratic National Convention), where the last one standing wins the nomination! Unfortunately, the "loser" is left hemorrhaging and flatlining on the sidelines, still attached to its victorious twin; only to be resuscitated long enough to endorse the winner! Because the very foundation on which their philosophy is constructed is fatally flawed, the Democratic Party is disintegrating before our eyes! When your basic political and philosophical premise is to be indescriminate about everything, then no rules apply, and you have anarchy within the political process! The self-flagellating Left can't even pass its own "litmus test". How pathetic...

Interesting tact. Rather than defend and uplift your party, you chose to bring the other down to your level. Both had scandals, therefore both are the same, us, them, there's no difference. Sounds a lot like the video that sparked my interest in coming here.

Not to mention how absolutely childish it is to rant on and on, like some child screaming, "Me, me, me, look at me, look at what I can do!"

After reading the paranoid mewlings of "Anonymous" (now Vincent Freeman is also Evan Sayet!), I gleefully rest my case. Resorting to vulgarities, rather than civil discourse, "Anonymous" and his/her ilk are incapable of presenting a cogent arguement for why they think the way they do! (Please note that I am not presumptuous to divine the gender of the posters). Their insistance on the use of profanity rather than insiteful prose, declares the inanity of their debate! Once again, Evan's arguement is reinforced!

Hillary apologizes for marrying a bigot...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton did something Wednesday night that she almost never does. She apologized. And once she started, she didn't seem able to stop.

The New York senator, who is in a tight race with Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, struck several sorry notes at an evening forum sponsored by the National Newspaper Publishers Association, a group of more than 200 black community newspapers across the country.

Her biggest apology came in response to a question about comments by her husband, Bill Clinton, after the South Carolina primary, which Obama won handily. Bill Clinton said Jesse Jackson also won South Carolina when he ran for president in 1984 and 1988, a comment many viewed as belittling Obama's success.

"I want to put that in context. You know I am sorry if anyone was offended. It was certainly not meant in any way to be offensive," Hillary Clinton said. "We can be proud of both Jesse Jackson and Senator Obama."

"Anyone who has followed my husband's public life or my public life know very well where we have stood and what we have stood for and who we have stood with," she said.
