The Left Rallies for Terror in LA

In my someday-to-be-finished book, "Hating What's Right: Why Liberals Wind Up On The Wrong Side of EVERY Issue," I write about the need of the Neo-Liberal to intentionally make himself stupid. That is, the Neo-Liberal isn't congenitally retarded, his brain is not misshapen and incapable of calculating moral and intellectual truths, but, instead, in order to hold onto his ideology the Neo-Liberal needs to intentionally ignore -- pretend he doesn't know -- things that he really does know.

I was reminded of this truth when I attended a rally in support of the Israeli people and watched the pro-terrorist side across the street sceaming their angry -- and brain-dead -- anti-semitic and anti-American jargon.

One of the repeated slanders against the good people of Israel is that the Jews are commiting the "genocide" of the Palestinian Arabs. Obviously many were screaming this lie not because they believed it but because they are so steeped in their pro-evil ideology that ANY lie is deemed "right" by them because it advances their politiccal agenda.

Yet I do not deny that at least some of them threw around this hateful -- and easily disproved -- slander because, with thinking having been outlawed during their upbringing, the obvious and undeniable facts -- facts that they fully-well know -- are of not interest or import to them.

This slander of the Joooooos committing the genocide of the lovely, lovely Islamists has been a staple of leftist propaganda since the day the democracy of Israel was born. That's about sixty years ago. Clearly, if there were ANY truth to this slander, after six decades, this "genocide" would have been completed. Several of the pro-Islamic terror signs equated Israel with the Nazis with one huge -- professionally designed and created -- banner reading "A Holocaust in Gaza." But Hitler was able to wipe out almost all of the Jews of Europe -- using technology ages less advanced than those avvailable today -- in just five years. The evil Joooooos, for some reason, can't finish the job six decades later? It doesn't make sense. Ah, but sense is meaningless to the Neo-Liberal to whom the support of evil is the only intellectual end they are allowed to seek.

In fact, during this "genocide" the Palestinian population has skyrocketed -- making this the first genocide in human history where the population of the "victims" has actually grown.

The media, of course, we there...doing their job of slanting the truth in favor of the evil-doers as well. So confident are the leftists in the fact that the media is working on their behalf, they don't even try to hide the fact that this pro-Palestinian rally was, in reality, a communist organized, funded, coordinated and run, anti-freedom event. Huge banners screaming the name of the oragnizers -- International Answer dominated the scene, with the sloganeering leftists using the bull horn to alternately lie against the democracy of Israel and seek contributions for the communists. There was, of course, you usual posters of the communist mass murderer Che Guevera.

Why do Neo-Liberals side invariably with evil, failure and wrong? The answer is simple: raised to believe that rational and moral thought are acts of bigotry and that as "multiculturalists" all cultures are equally right and equally valid, then, in the words of Dinesh D'Souza, the multiculturalist must DE FACTO beccome an apologist for tyranny. It only follows, then, that those to whom discriminating moral and intellectual thought is a hate crime, that they must explain ALL evil, failure and wrong and attack all that is good, right and successful. It's no surprise, then, that those who see the greatest enmity from the Neo-Liberal are the good, right and successful be they the Jews or Christian America.

An Apology (of sorts)

I feel so bad about not blogging but, well, I have nothing to say. Things are quiet, there's this lull between the election of The Anointed One and the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it.

I've already commented on his major selections for his cabinet and addressed my concerns (especially about Susan Rice and the elevation of the evil United Nations by a man who sees himself as a "citizen of the world" to cabinet status.

What's to say about Blogo? except that I feel myself exceedingly lucky that somehow we ended up with the ONE leftist politician from Chicago who ISN'T corrupt. I mean, what are the odds of THAT?

Although filled with trepidation and sadness, I am glad to see Israel taking care of business and eliminating more bad people from the planet. Sad that there need to be civilian casualties but that is the price paid for the civilians supporting their terrorist leaders. Those who hide amongst civilians and target civilians cannot expect to have their citizens left unscathed. Sad that Palestinians hate the infidel more than they love their own people.

Some thoughts about Christmas

A new poll by Scotty Rasmussen shows that fully two out of every three Americans celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. Virtually all of the rest of us celebrate it as the American holiday of hope and good will and love that it is.

With bitter and jealous secularists now posting billboard of hate for belief in God -- a reflection of their narcissistic terror that THEY might not be gods -- the war on Christmas that many of us recognized years ago can no longer be denied. Funny that those who voted for a candidate for no other reason than that he spouted the word "hope" would be so against this holiday of hope and promise.

I say "Merry Christmas" at all turns. The idea that this wish of happiness might be "offensive" to some is just a reflection of their own insecurities and anger and should not be honored or respected. One can only take offense to something that is offensive, being mistaken for someone who makes up 90 perccent of America -- those of us who love Christmas -- can only hurt the leftists' feelings if they hate Christianity. I have no time for those who hate what is good.

Years ago -- before political correctness set in -- there was a Polish joke asking "how many poles does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" The answer was always something like "Five. One to hold the lightbulb and the other four to spin the ladder around."

American business has become a polish joke. "How many UAW employees does it take to install a headlamp? Four." "How many Teamsters does it take to hammer in a nail? Five."

The problem is that when three, four and five people are "needed" to do the simplist tasks -- each of them earning approximately seventy-five dollars an hour in direct salary plus every perk the union can extract from management -- someone has to pay for it.

This is the same mentality that saw Fannie Mae collapse. It's the same mentality that has destroyed our public schools. It's the mentality of entitlement where everyone gets a job and everyone gets a high salary and everyone gets maternaity leave (even fathers!) and everyone gets time-and-a-half and by the time everyone is given everything no one can afford the product any longer.

Governor Blagojevich

The corruption of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich is not new news. Only the depth and the arrogance is. Clearly anyohe involved in Illinois politics -- and that includes the man who now holds the "office" of the "President-Elect" -- Barack Obama, had to have known about this man's crimes leading up to his efforts to sell Obama's seat to the highest bidder.

Like the character in Casablanaca who is shocked -- shocked -- to find gambling going on at the casino where he has been gambling since it first opened year earlier - Obama is once again "shocked" that those with whom he has done business for years is evil and corrupt.

Up until now Obama has gotten away with playing the American people with his Captain Renault act. He was SHOCKED to learn that his mentor, Jeremiah Wright spewed virulent hatred and SHOCKED yet again when he discovered that the English teacher down the road was really an arch terrorist and SHOCKED yet again to discover that the person who made posssible his owning a mansion was a mobster.

Illinois politics IS the politics Captain Renault. It's now the driving force in American politics.

Hi All,

Sorry I've been away, and I promise a major piece soon. In the meantime here are some thoughts.

I don't know what to make of Barack Obama's choices for his cabinet. They seem boring, uninspired, and mundane. Leftists are angry -- but, then again, when aren't they angry? -- and that points up the problem of electing someone based on looks, rhetoric and nothing more than "hope" and "change."

Still, Obama is adept at placating people with fig leafs and doing exactly what it is he wants. Susan Rice at the UN -- and the United Nations being raised to a cabinet level post is frightening from this self-proclaimed "citizen of the world," as is his plans for a new-new-new deal and his efforts to turn twenty-thousand troops agaist American citizens as well as his forced conscription into a "volunteer" force to, I assume, "organize communities" in the same way he did in Chiicago. I fear for the leftist's efforts to stifle free speech via the Orwellian named "Fairness Doctrine" and other elitist efforts to control the populace. He doesn't need anyone but the Chair of the FCC to dictate such thought control policies and he'll let Congress take the lead on promoting his leftist agenda that does an end-run around his "advisors."

Obama is nothing if not sneaky. I take his cotterie of mostly mediocrities and weaklings as nothing more than cover for his and Congress' far-leftist agenda.

Thanksgiving means Giving Thanks.

There is a lot to be thankful for. And a lot to thank George Bush and his predecessors (and our ancestors) for.

I am thankful that I live in a time so prosperous we really believe that the current economic downturn is "the worst economic disaster" in history. Man, are WE spoiled.

I am grateful that I live in a time and a place where good health is so universal, far from worrying about horrific diseases, we have a pill for "Restless Leg Syndrome."

I am thankful -- especially as I watch the news from India over the last few days -- that this president has kept us safe from such attacks since 9/11.

I am grateful for a nation where Jews have it better than at any time and in any place in our long and often tortured history. I am thankful that "racism" in America is so non-existent that, in the past year or so, the "worst" example of racism even the race-profiteers could conjure up was some 67-year-old shock jock making a bad joke about basketball players using the "authentic" black vernacular.

I am thankful to live in a time and a place where disease is virtually unknown, a time a place where Ebola is unheard of and "Restless Leg Syndrome" our biggest health problem. I am grateful to live in a land of so much plenty that even the "poor" are fat.

I am thankful to live in a time and a place where "stand-up comedy" is a viable -- even lucrative -- profession. Telling jokes for a living? Could you image that in Anceint Egypt? How about in Africa today?

I am thankful in general. It's a trait I didn't always possess. I believe it to be now the core of my happiness and something I wish others would practice instead of their overriding sense of entitlement and the disappointement in not having everything they "deserve" simply handed to them. Whatever disappointments and hard times one may face -- to face it at this time and in this place is an unprecedented blessing, one for which I am eternally thankful.

Sanctuary City Kills Aniother Innocent Young Man

Democrats are famous for caring more about the "rights" of the criminals than the lives of the innocent. In fact, according to Thomas Sowell, in his brilliant "A Conflict of Visions" notes, the people he calls "unconstrained" in their "thinking" see the criminal as TWICE victimized -- first, by whatever "special circumstances" PROVOKED them to oommit their crime and then by the people who "lust" for their punishment.

But nobody "lusts" for anyone's punishment. Instead we believe that criminals need to be punished and the innoent protected.

The case of high school football star Jamiel Shaw is a perfect example. Caring more about illegal alien gangbangers than the citizens of Los Angeles, the leftist administrations that have successively run this once great city have turned LA into a "sanctuary city," where criminals and thugs are protected and innocents murdered.

While Anita Shaw -- Jamiel's mother -- was serving her country in Iraq, an illegal alien gangbanger RELEASED ONLY THE DAY BEFORE from prison on other charges, walked up to the young man, shot him in the stomach and then put a bullet in his brain. Yes, thanks to the Democrats America gained an illegal alien criminal, but we lost a promising young American -- a role model, a friend and a son.

The leftists in the city -- including the Mayor -- have taken the side of the murderers yet again. Jamiel's parents have spearheaded a new law -- Jamiel's Law -- that would require the deportation of illegal alien gangbangers. Not even just illegal aliens, but illegal alien GANGBANGERS. The left objects. Strenuously. Even violentlhy, with the city violently distrupting efforts by the grieving parents to put Jamiel's Law on the books.

Only twenty thousand more are needed to protect the innocent from criminal thugs and the lefts' constant refusal to live up to the law in order to protect and defend thugs.

Some Ramblings on the Economy

When I watch the stock market plunge and read about autoworkers on the precipice or someone having their home foreclosed on my heart goes out to millions. On the other hand, I also recognize that the good times that we Americans have enjoyed since the Greatest Generation bequeathed us the benefits the American Century and more has been a free ride.

There was a time when unions were necessary to protect the workers. Now unions simply stuff their pockets, make unmeetable demands and consider themselves social engineers throwing the working man's money toward any cause that pops up on a Democrat's "to do" list.

When I see the stock market nearly halve in value I sense that it is only back to where it should have and would have been in the real world of our fathers and grandfathers, when wealth was not an entitlement, credit was used judiciously, progress was made in increments and as a result of effort, learning from mistakes and making improvements in self and product.

Since the dawn of the Modern Liberal Era success is a function of entitlement, with everyone entitled to a house whether they can afford it or not (Fannie Mae), huge bonuses whether the company performs or not ( golden parachutes, etc), good grades in school even if they are wholly illiterate (grade inflation and social promotions).
In the Modern Liberal era every child is "entitled" to "self-esteem" without having to do anything estiimable.

Union workers are "entitled" to paid vacations and sick days and federal holidays and time off if they want to have a baby. Workers are entitled to artificially inflated wages from "minimum" to union wages to the CEOs mentioned above.

Add to this new billion -- if not trillion -- dollar schemes because everyone is "entitled" to state-of-the-art health care and because everyone (including gang-bangers and the illiterate) are "entitled" to a four year vacation where they, too, can binge drink, projectile vomit and "go wild" for the cameras because "every child is ENTITLED" to go to college and you have an economy that cannot sustain what we were bequeathed and in fact, must -- simply must -- continue to plummet into just another one of those once great nations that you read about in history books.

Until we return to a merit-based society we will continue to decline and not all that long from now, crumble. Rewards are not an entitlement -- rewards are indications of work well done. No nation has even been a perfect meritocracy -- no nation has ever been a perfect anything. But America is the closest the worl has ever come and it's not a coincidence that we were -- until recently -- the most prosperous and successful nation in human history. Nor is it a coincidence that it is but forty years into the Modern Liberal era that we are seeing such a rapid decline.

Autoworkers need to be paid what they have earned. So too do their bosses. Children need to be graded according to their skill and effort and only children who show by their work and their efforts that they have learned (and have a desire to learn) should be promoted to the next grade and given, when needed, assistance to go to college (something that should come from the private sector, not the government but that's the stuff of another piece.)

Without merit-based rewards there is no incentive to better yourself, to save for a downpayment on a home, to go to night school, to forgo the party to study for the exam or to make the company run well. Perhaps if the car companies are allowed to go under, to have to start from scratch, they'll make a car that merits our buying it, they'll pay their workers what their skills and efforts merit, their CEOs will be rewarded based on their accomplishments and we can begin a second American century.

Dems Seek Only To MITIGATE THE CONSEQUENES of the Evil That They Promote

There are fundamental differences between the VISIONS of the left and the right. Visions are the basic beliefs about humanity, human nature, the role of government and more that lie BENEATH policy -- that LEAD to policy -- and the Democrat and the Republican are fundamentally at odds.

The left, seeing all judgment as prejudice (since anything you believe is tainted by your own circumstances such as skin color, nation of birth, religoin -- or lack thereof -- economic status, etc) believe the only way to eliminate the evils of bigotry is to never think at all. To the Modern Liberal, rational and moral thought is believed to be a hate crime. To them, "discriminating thought" is the evil of having discriminated. The Right, on the other hand, believes that discriminating and moral thought is, while clearly flawed, utterly essential and, in fact, the only way to make a better world.

This leads the Left and the Right to very different places with regard to policy. Because of these diametrically opposed visions, the Right seeks to help people live better lives by encouraging them to engage in the better behaviors. The Left -- rejecting the discriminating thought required to RECOGNIZE the better behaviors -- does not create policy designed to promote these better behaviors and, in fact, seeing the recognition of the better as acts of bigotry, actually works to promote the lesser behaviors which they see as "under seige" from the bigots.

At this point, when their work to undermine the promotion of the better behaviors -- and, their efforts to rehabilitate the image of the lesser behaviors -- lead as they have and must to greater suffering and failure, the Democrat THEN steps in with policy designed for no other purpose than to help mitigate the consequenes of the behaviors that they themselves have made prevelant.

On the institutional level, one sees the institutions of the Right -- from the Church to the Boy Scouts -- promote better lives by working to encourage people to better themselves. The institutions of the Left -- from the ACLU to the radicacl feminist movement -- do seek not to help people become better, but only to force society to accept and REWARD people AS THEY ARE, unchanged.

On the policy level, one finds that the Right seeks to promote those behaviors that best help people to achieve their goals. The Left works only to undermine the recognition of those bettter behaviors and then to legislate policy that seeks to (somewhat) mitigate the consequences of the failure to engage in the better behaviors.

For example, the Right recognizes that childhood abstinenec is a behavior that improves the child's chances for future success. To us it's a no-brainer that unwanted pregancies, grisly abortions and being infected with sexually transmitted diseases makes less likely the child free to achieve as much with their lives as they would like. The Left, on the other hand, sees the promotion of the better behavior as a form of bigotry, calling it the work of "religious fanatics" or the "sexually repressed," and, in turn, work to rehabilitate the image of promiscuity in their movies, TV shows, schools and the legislatures they control. When this promotion of the destructive behaviors lead -- as they have and must -- to the undermining of the child's future success, the Democrat then seeks policies designed to lessen the suffering that they themselves induced.

So, where the Right Thinker promotes childhood and teenage abstinence (knowing full well that it won't work 100 percent of the time, as NOTHING works 100 percent of the time), the Democrat promotes promiscuity and then advances policies like easy and free abortions to mitigate the consequences of childhood and teenage promiscuity. Similarly, when their policies lead -- as they have and must -- to an epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases amongst the children of America (with fully one out of four young girls in New York City now infeccted with at least one or more STD) -- they then put forth policy that forceably injects ALL children with one vaccine or another to make less likely the chance of contracting one of the STDs that now run rampant.
The problem, of course, beyond the mere moral destruction of our society and the theft of the innocence of the youth of America, is that, while some of these vaccines -- injected into even the children who act in the better ways -- may prevent ONE of these diseases, it does nothing to prevent a whole range of others.

Another example of this paradigm is the Rights' insistence that immigrants learn to speak English. It is self-evident to those of us on the Right that the ability to speak the language of the majority is a big plus for those immigrant who wish to accomplish their dreams in America. Clearly, if an immigrant is a salesman, he can sell to more people if he speaks the language of the majority. If the immigrant is a scientist, he can apply for a job as a scientist at AMGEN or Johnson and Johnson. If he DOESN'T speak the language of the other scientists, the ONLY job he can get is one where his communications skills are of minimal importance, such as the minimum wage job of janitor.

The Left, on the other hand, sees the insistene that one learn the language of the majority as a form of bigotry. Some have gone so far as to call it an attempt by the Right to commit "cultural genocide" of the immigrant. For this reason the Left works to undermine efforts to encourage the immigrant to learn the language of the majority, guaranteeing that they will be locked into minimum wage jobs, and then hop into action to mitigate the suffering of those they have forced to suffer by insisting upon a raise in the minimum wage.

It gets worse. Since the immigrant has rights, in order to satisfy these rights, the majority must learn the many, many languages of the immigrants. Voting documents must be printed up in hundreds of languagess while police departments in every city and town must learn to speak Spanish (etc) in order to properly "Mirandize" suspected criminals.

In other words, once again, the indiscriminateness of thought that is the defining trait of the Modern Liberal movement leads the Modern Liberal to create an Orwellian world where their subjects suffer, while a cultural genocide IS taking place -- against America and against our children.

Notes From Restoration Weekend

Restoration Weekend -- a gathering put together by David Horowitz with help from my good friends at his Freedom Center -- features the best Republican/conservative minds particpating in symposium and listening to speakers ranging from the always brilliant Victor David Hanson, to the always sober and expert Robert Spencer to folks like Governor Tim Pawlenty and analysists like Karl Rove.

The event is the highligh of my year, held in a five-star locale in Florida where this year I got to watch a shuttle take off one night and the next watch as three sharks swam as near the shore as physically possible. It seemed to me the perfect metaphor as the weekend was filled with talk both of high high America (and, by no conicidence, the Republican Party) can soar -- with only the sky the limit,and not even that!) and how we must, at the same time, be mindful of the mindless sharks who lurk just beneath the surface, waiting -- by their nature -- to devour us.

Caroline Glick was, as always, amazing in her insight and unflinching willingness to speak in plain truths. Her insights into the realities Israel and the Middle East are available in her new book "The Shackled Warrior," which I started just the other day and have not put down since. Spencer also has a new book, "Stealth Jihad" which I've been aware of since he started writing it as Robert and I are close friends. It's a must read as well. I only started Caroline's first because it's easier to look at her "about the author" photo.

Finally met face-to-face the great fighter for freedom, the beautiful Pamela Geller from Atlasshrugs.com. We were able to make a deal where NEXT time we meet, I'LL get to say something. She's great.

Talk was both optimistic and enlighteningly dark. The depths to which the enenmy has infiltrated American society -- spoken of by the brilliant Frank Gaffney and Spencer in particular -- is disconcerting to say the least, with Muslim Brotherhood fronts operating on college campuses, in the military and in prisons recruiting in ways not wholly dissimilar to that of Adolf Hitler.

In these places these operations working on behalf of Islamic fascism both recruit and intimidate those who would speak against an ideology as threatening -- and more so -- than Nazism ever was. Textbooks -- under the guise of "multiculturalism" -- are designed to portray the enemy as benign which, in turn, requires the schools to be, in the words of Dinesh D'Souza (in his book "What's So Great About America") recognizes must be "de facto apologists for tyranny." In other words, the indiscriminateness that sees the "educators" must now explain why it is that this equally good and equally right religion -- or, more accurately, culture -- is recognized by right thinkers as a threat an a menace. The ONLY explanation available that does not recognize the culture as inferior or bad is that they are the victims of the good peoples' "bigotry." Evil becomes protected and good the villian, all with the Muslim Brotherhood's organizations keeping close watch.

On the bright side, many recognized the political reality that Republicans have, in the past, suffered defeats of similar -- and even greater -- magnitude and returned stronger than ever. Noted was that, despite having EVERY advantage -- from the historical reality that Americans don't tend to give a "third term" to ANY party, to the fact that Obama is the most charismatic candidate in a generation (if not in our lifetimes) running against the OLDEST candidate in Americn history, doing so with a media actively involved in advancing the Obama candidacy and agenda, and, in the end, even with Mickey Mouse on his side, Obama was only able to win with fifty-two out of every one hundred voters.

In attendance was Anita Shaw, the American soldier who learned of her son Jamiel's murder at the hands of an illegal alien gangbanger, while serving the cause of freedom in Iraq. Ms. Shaw has since led the fight for Jamiel's Law to deport illegal aliens involved in violent gangs, a no-brainer to all decent people but being fought tooth and nail by the left in Los Angeles and beyond, who invariably and inevitably side with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. As is their style, the Democrats believe it more important to protect the "rights" of violent, illegal aliens than the children of our citizens.

I also had the opportunity to speak, and, although I started out trying to lighten the mood with humor, both the realities of the acoustics and the tenor of the evening saw me move quickly into more serious conversation about the differences between Democrats and Republicans on policy -- policy that stems from the difference between discriminating thought on the right and indiscriminateness on the left.

More memories to follow (as well as a piece on the differences in vision that lead good people on each side to diamterically opposed policy and why the Modern Liberal -- the dominant force in today's Democrat Party -- invariably sides with evil, failure and wrong.)

In the meantime, my thanks to the great David Horowitz, the former 1960s radical along the lines of Obama friend and colleague William Ayers. The difference being that David IS repentent, and works feverishly and effectively to fight the ideology he knows well and now rightly rejects, with the advantage of knowing firsthand how they think and operate.

My thanks as well to the staff at David's Freedom Center, especially Mike Finch who, no matter how busy (and they keep him busy!) always has a second or two for whatever trivial need or request I have.

So what about all the "record" registrations. Can anyone spell ACORN? Why would ACORN want to load the voter rolls with fraudulent registrants? To suppress the Republican vote, enthusiasm and, perhaps most importantly, contributions. After all, who sends money to a campaign that can't possibly win?

And, of course, the leftist media used these fraudulent numbers to boost their pro-Obama polling results. Because there were so many more Democrats on the rolls -- folks with names like Mickey Mouse and ASDF FDSA (the "name" you get from running your fingers over the third row down on the keyboard) -- they polled more Democrats and thus got the more pro-Democrat result.

Yesterday NBC's cable channel star Chris Matthews announced that he sees his job as working on behalf of a "successful" Obama administration. This comes after the media's "job" working to make Obama's campaign for president "successful."

To my friends on the left -- you may have gotten the RESULT you wanted, but is this the AMERICA that you want?

Last Night's Election Postmortem

There is good news for Republicans in last night's results: Barack Obama failed to get a mandate for radical change. Despite polls showing him up by as many as 13 points on the eve of the election, Mr. Obama was able to garner barely 52 out of every one hundred votes cast.

This bare majority came only as Obama benefited from a near perfect storm of advantages that, had his message and policy proposals been more in line with the American people, should have seen a far more substantial tally for the now President-elect. Few would argue other than that Obama is one of the most charismatic figures and greatest orators of our time. This pose and prose was in contrast to his opponent, a man physically deformed by years of torture and oratorically on par with driftwood. John McCain is a great man, he was just never a good candidate.

In fact, McCain was a singularly bad candidate who, out of what I believe was a misguided sense of "statesmanship" and honor, refused to challenge his opponent on matters vital to his victory and, sadly, even more vital to the protection of this nation. McCain's failure to make Obama's twenty years at the knee of his mentor, Jeremiah Wright, a central issue of the campaign (and similar failures to make clear Obama's other nefarious collaborators) allowed Obama to sell with great charm and flowing rhetoric policies that sounded good but were, in reality, the very opposite of what he believes, spent his life promoting and will now seek to make the law of the land from his position as the most powerful man in the world.

Finally, the razor-thin margin of victory came only through the unprecedented and unconscionable wholesale rejection of even the pretense of journalistic standards and personal integrity from a rapidly dying Old Media that sees in Obama a chance to elevate their coideologist to power and, in turn, perhaps have their industry rescued by an Obama administration happy to stifle their competition in talk radio and the Internet.

The bottom line, however, is that the nation and the world is now stuck with a soon-to-be-President Obama. Further, some of the obstacles and challenges that allowed this to happen are only going to get worse in the next few years as the Democrats work to undermine free speech and place other barriers in the way of getting the truth to the people. This will likely start with the Pelosi-Reid Congress advancing the Orwellian-named "Fairness Doctrine" which, they hope, will destroy the voice of opposition in broadcast radio. Meanwhile, the Old Media, flush with the power of having elevated their idol to power, is not likely to return to the standards they rejected over the past many years. This media sees themselves as anointed and elite, their job not to report to the people but to control those "racists" and "dolts" who, to borrow a word from their leader, "cling" to their deepest beliefs and constitutional rights out of "bitterness" and bigotry, by parsing out information that elevates only those who think like they do to positions of power. Rapidly dwindling respect and circulation will not slow their efforts as their sense of elitism and disdain for their fellow Americans -- the folks of "Kansas" whom they see as having "something the matter" with them -- sees their efforts as a righteous crusade, one made only more fun and self-satisfying by the honors they bestow upon each other not for the greatness of their accomplishment but for the degree to which it services "the cause." To this group -- like their brethren in the Hollywood Hills -- the failure of their product is seen as a badge of honor for popular is the opposite of elite.

Still, we Republicans can take from the paltry advantage "won" by the Democrat Party standard bearer that America remains center-right and our return to governance in short time is very possible -- even likely. To regain the confidence of the people
we need to return to the message and policies that saw the American people elect us in the first place. Beliefs and policies that they support and share. Being Democrat-light out of a sense that the populace has moved left is a wholesale and dangerous misreading of this election. We will have more charismatic candidates down-the-line, we will redouble our efforts to get out a message doubly difficult to get out because of Democrat legislation likely to come, and, because we have the power of truth and right on our side, we can go into 2010 not dispirited but rejuvenated, not resigned but rededicated to our purpose and our cause, knowing that 2008 was not so much a mandate for the left but a wake-up call to the right.

Last Election Update 2008

I am off to the Republican Party party. As I leave the states that have been called do not look good for America. I am not truly convinced that some of the states that have been called will be reversed as was Florida in 2000. I can't imagine the people of Pennsylvania would really support a man who made so clear that he despises everything about them and seeks to destroy an industry that supports so many of them, their families and their neighbors and friends. At this point PA has been called with exactly zero percent of the vote counted. We'll see.

At this point an American hero still has a chance -- albeit, if the states have gone the way the networks have called them, it's a long shot -- and I will sign off remaining optimistic.

I will write tomorrow about my beliefs about the meaning of this election, what it says about America and what it means to the future of the world. For now, the election is far from over and I implore everyone who still can to get out and vote.

One more little tidbit from the "exit polls." Supposedly only six out of ten voters see "the economy" as the top issue. This means that four out of ten see other things -- like values and protecting Americans from terror attacks -- as their top issue. Since these things are more important to Republicans and Republicans aren't being counted (since we don't talk to pollsters) the economy which is probably Obama's strongest issue (though, of course, a Marxist who has promised to bankrupt entire American industries should be winning this one), this is another piece of intelligence that argues for a McCain victory.

Now get out and vote!!!

As of this morning I was optimistic. Nothing I have seen since has changed that optimism. Yes, I would have loved for exit polls to have been tighter, but the reality is that these exit polls are meaningless. Republicans don't answer them, period. One source who has earned my respect in the past reports that these polls are oversampling blacks at a rate of four-to-one. Don't know. Do know that Kerry would have been president in a landslide had these polls been anywhere near accurate four years ago, and the fatal flaw of these polls -- that Republicans just don't answer them -- has not changed.

Here's an interesting tidbit, though. Two separate sources say that the Obama camp is panicking in Minnesotta, desperately trying to call up volunteers in a race that the Democrat Party Chairman says is "much closer than we expected." Obama is also desperately trying to get resources to MO and NC.

Ed Rendell, whose job it is to sell confidence could only say he "thinks" Obama is going to take the state that Democrats John Murtha has called filled with "racists" and Barack Obama has promised to bankrupt by destroying the coal industry and by sending electricity prices "skyrocketing." Earlier Rendell had voiced disappointment in the turnout in Obama-centric Philadelphia.

Obama's lead in Indiana has vanished. Not good for Obama since Democrats tend to vote early in the day (since so many don't have jobs or kids to take to school, etc).

All of the hints and clues continue to be in the Hero's favor. The latest comes from Minnesota where, according to someone claiming to be an Obama volunteer, phone calls are going out with the following imperative:

"Hello, this is Jeff Blodgett from the Minnesota for Obama campaign. Our initial data shows this election is significantly closer than the polls predicted. We are putting out an urgent call for volunteers... We are organized groups to knock on doors at five P.M., or earlier if you can, for our final GOTV operation." This was followed by different numbers to call based on your residence.

If this is true -- and this is MINNESOTA -- things are going to be very well the rest of the night! Still, it's far from over, and the intelligence I'm working from is scattered and not always verifiable (and, remember, it is impossible to quantify the thuggery and the fraud that has been and will continue to be perpetrated by the left). Still, I have always been optimistic and what I'm picking up only supports that sense of optimism.

Ed Rendell, the Democrat Governor of Pennsylvania (recently caught on tape praising Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan to the high heavens) said that voter turnout in PA is high -- but not as high in Philadelphia (where Black Panthers have been threatening voters with a billy club and Republican election observers have been kicked out of voting stations) as he had hoped.

Meanwhile, Fox News is reporting that the promised Obama surge of voters has not materialized in New Hampshire and that the Obama camp is "worried."

Things are looking good. Other than the on-going and widespread thuggery and fraud perpetrated by the Democrat Party and those working for their candidate, all of the little hints and clues I'm picking up indicate a great day for John McCain and Sarah Palin and a great day for America.

Inside information from the McCain camp as reported by a blogger for US News and World Report is that everything is moving and moving rapidly in the right direction. I can't imagine that the combination of John Murtha's attacks on the people of Pennsylvania combined with Obama's famous dismissal of their (and many of our) core beliefs as being things they "cling" to out of bitterness and bigotry, not to mention The Anointed Ones promise to "bankrupt" one of America's most important industries and to intentionally send prices for electricity sky-rocketing (and don't forget the "experienced" Joe Biden's promise that an Obama presidency would bring on an international crisis within six months of his inauguration) and, well, I can't imagine any but the radical fringe and the wholly brain-dead voting for Obama today.

Obama was likely to do better in early voting, as many of his most dangerous promises -- such as his efforts to destroy the coal industry and leave tens of thousands unemployed and hundreds of thousands who rely on the industry reeling -- became public. Still, indications are that the Obama "ground game" which the media told us was the best in human history (you know, like The Anointed One himself) was just a media fabrication and the party identification that has so skewed the polls mere hokum.

Still, the thuggery and fraud continues and is incalculable so we must get every last vote from the good people, must be vigilant and ready, as was the poll watcher who stood up to the Black Panther thugs, to take a stand. This is the most important election in the history of man (I'll explain that another time). Surely the most important election of our lifetimes. Let's make sure we've done EVERYTHING to put the American Heroes -- the war hero and The Citizen Servant -- in the White House.

Great news out of Colorado. At the end of "early voting" the number of Republican and Democrat voters are almost perfectly identical. This despite the supposed advantage in voter registration the leftist media attempted to sell us on and the vaunted "ground game" that Obama was claimed -- by these same corrupt leftists -- to have.

Since the parties are equal in votes delivered, we can easily surmise that this translates into a big McCain lead as there are far more Democrats who are going to vote for McCain out of rightful fear of Obama and anger at his having stolen the nomination from Hillary Clinton than there are Republicans who are going to reject the center/right war hero in favor of the unknown Marxist with the long trail of terrorists, hate-mongers, communists and mobsters on his speed dial.

Colorado, obviously, would be an important get.

Now the bad news. The thug-like tactics that Obama and ACORN and Tony Rezko and the rest of Obama's team has long exhibited has started already, with reports that Republican poll watchers are being kicked out of Philadelphia polling stations. One Last Plea To Those Supporting Barack Obama

Barack Obama is a little known quantity. What we do know should scare us all. His associations range from twenty years in a virulently racist church where his mentor -- Obama's word -- preached hatred and lies against America, against Jews and against all other white people. Obama's never denied any of this -- in fact proclaimed that this sort of hate was not in the least bit "controversial." After making an eloquent speech in which he defended his mentor -- selling out his own "beloved" grandmother in the process -- when they polls showed that his efforts had failed, Obama threw his mentor and friend under the bus as quickly as he threw that, in his own words, "typical white woman," his grandmother under it.

Obama had a long and deep relationship with the admitted and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. He was introduced to the political elite of corrupt, leftist Chicago politics at a party in the terrorist's home. Ayers selected Obama to administer one hundred million dollars to advance the terrorists' agenda. Asked about Ayers Obama repeatedly lied, calling him first just a "neighbor" then just an "English professor" he knew. Finally, Obama admitted he knew Ayers was a terrorist all along but thought he had been "reformed."

Obama owns a multi-million dollar mansion. He and his wife could not afford this mansion. But they could with the help of mobster "Tony" Rezko. Rezko helped the Obamas buy the mansion, Obama did Rezko favors. That's the way it works when mobsters buy you a house.

Obama attended a dinner to honor long-time friend and associate Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi was Yaser Arafat's spokesman when Arafat headed up the terror group, the PLO. At this viciously anti-semitic gathering (attended not only by Obama but by his friend and colleague, the terrorist Ayers) Obama cheered the hate speeches of the terrorist and his supporters and then took the podium to toast the terrorist and to join in the Jew-bashing. Obama offered as part of his speech blood libels against the Jews. Really not surprising from a man that Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam calls "The Messiah" and who has earned the endorsement of the terror group Hamas.

We know very little about Obama's voting record as he was in the Senate less than a year when he began running to become the most powerful person in the world. We DO know, however, that he's NOT a socialist as some claim. There is a socialist in the Senate. His name is Bernie Sanders and he represents the Socialist Party. Barack Obama's voting record is to the LEFT of Sanders. Obama is WORSE than a socialist.

We do know that Obama, when a state legislator, voted "present" over 125 times. Two issues he championed, however, was comprehensive sex education for five-year-olds, and for use of infanticide -- the killing of live children -- as a means of birth control. When confronted with the latter, Obama simply accused his accuser of being a liar. When "the liars" produced the actual vote, Obama agreed that it was true, but that he had altruistic reasons for the vote -- a desire to protect Roe V. Wade. Those reasons were again proved to be lies when a second bill supported by Obama was produced which fully protected Roe V. Wade.

Few had ever heard of Barack Obama prior to a speech he gave at the 2004 Democrat convention. From that moment on he's been running for President, reading other peoples' words off of teleprompters. In the handful of unscripted moments Obama has repeatedly given clues as to his real beliefs and his real agenda, from a talk in San Francisco when he thought he was off-the-record and speaking only to other like-minded leftists where he portrayed the hardworking, good people of Pennsylvania as bitter, stupid and bigoted and another time when he let slip that his plan is to ruin these people financially by bankrupting one of the major industries in Pennsylvania and similar states. In his talk to the Saddleback Forum, Obama admitted to never once having given a moment's thought as to when life begins (which is why he can support infanticide), and, asked about the existence of good and evil did not once mention al Qaeda or Hamas or Hezbolleh, but, instead, attacked the American family and made a plea for not fighting evil.

Obama has stated that he is AGAINST NAFTA and then claimed he only said that "in the heat of the campaign" and that he's really FOR NAFTA. He said in front of a room of Jews that he supports an undivided Jerusalem, only to change his position almost the moment he left the room. Outstanding News for the Good Guys

"In North Carolina, more than 2.5 million people participated in early and absentee voting -- and Democrats outnumbered Republicans by nearly 2-to-1.

In Florida, more than 4 million voters used those forms of voting -- 2.6 million people participated in early voting alone. Registered Democrats held about an 8-point advantage over registered Republicans in that turnout."

So what's the good news? The next line:

"However, polls from those states don't show Obama running away with the election."

In other words, Democrats are voting for McCain. Even better news? Exit polls virtually always favor Democrats by a significant margin (because Republicans tend to have other things to do than talk to strangers. Those without jobs, those without families, those without church obligations, they are among the Dem's strongest demographics.

Get out and vote tomorrow, this historic and essential election is very much within reach!!!

McCain is WINNING....part II (sort of)

John McCain is ahead in this election. Perhaps by a significant margin. So why aren't the polls reflecting this? A number of reasons.

1) The leftist media that has worked to cover-up Obama's ties to hate groups, his being the protege of hatemongers, his long-standing work on behalf of terrorists' agendas, etc. are intentionally manipulating many of these polls. The folks at CBS News who, just four years ago, intentionally employed forged documents in an attempt to steal the election for the less loved John Kerry are going all out and doing so without even the pretense any longer of "journalistic standards" and this is reflected in polls like the ones from the networks that show the radical leftist with a 13-point lead in the basically conservative America.

2) The thugs that Obama has employed at ACORN are producing tons of fraudulent voter registrations. These registrations are then used even by the more honest pollsters to create their "party affiliation" models. Because of these bogus registrations people like Rasmussen are calling significantly more Democrats to get their opinions than actually exist.

3) Not factored into the poll numbers are the vast numbers of those who "declined to participate" in the polls. It is reasonable to assume that this group -- as many as eight out of ten tries according to one knowledgeable Obama Staffer -- overwhelmingly support John McCain and Sarah Palin. Republicans are far more likely to "decline" the opportunity for three reasons. First, we are more likely to have lives -- to have families, jobs, church and community obligations and the like -- than are the eighteen year old children who spend their lives binge drinking, projectile vomiting and "going wild" and the welfare recipients who make up such a large part of today's Democrat Party. Second, a Republican getting a phone call from someone identifying themselves as a member of the leftist media or someone in their employ is far more likely to hang up the phone after screaming "up yours you corrupt bastards" than is an Obama supporter whose answer would more likely be "wow, man, how can I help, after all, we owe you EVERYTHING..." Finally, given the thuggish nature of the Obama campaign and the people who work on its behalf, one can never be sure just who is really on the other end of the phone. All you know is that they know your name, they know your party affiliation, they may well know your home address and even where you work. It is simply self-preservation to tell the stranger on the phone (or the person who accosts you in the mall) that you're voting for The Anointed One and be safe than to tell them that you're voting for McCain only to discover your car vandalized, your home shot up, your job on the line (because the caller was really your union organizer making sure you were being "kept in line") etc.

Meanwhile, Obama's in big trouble because his "victory" could only come with the near unanimous support of groups which he's not going to win with anywhere near the numbers he presupposes. These groups include:

1) Blacks. As much as the Barack Obamas and the Jeremiah Wrights and the Al Sharptons and Louis Farrakhans along with their co-ideologists in the entertainment and news industries try to sell the angry, entitled and perpertually aggreived black as the average black person in America this is far from the truth. The vast majority of blacks in America are Christian, middle class and happy. Many are small business owners, many others will soon be. As such, they may TELL pollsters that they are supporting Obama but, when they get into the privacy of the voting booth, they are going to vote as Americans, as Christians, as business owners and middle class people with middle class values and not for the guy who seeks to destroy all of these things but who happens to share similar skin pigmentation.

2) Jews. Jews have always felt an affinity for the black community. It's because, while we are not an "oppressed minority," the DNA of the Jew reminds us constantly that we are just one generation removed from the Holocaust and just one turn of events from the next pogrom. Many Jews will PUBLICLY state their support for the black candidate as a political statement of support for the black community but, in the privacy of the voting booth, they're not going to help elevate to power Jeremiah Wright's protege, Louis Farrakhan's "messiah" and Rashid Khalidi's co-ideologist.

3) The Young. It has always been true that Liberalism is most attractive to the children who have had little to no real world experience. Meaningless phrases like "Hope" and "Change" resonate with kids who live on lush and well-manicured lawns, sleep in hundred year old tudor mansions and who, after a night of binge drinking and projectile vomiting stumble into the cafeteria where food has been purchased on their behalf, prepared for them by others and, after they've finished their third or fourth helping, leave the dishes for someone else to do. But the America that the leftists attempt to sell to these kids, some evil place where racism and sexism and xenophobia, etc. are the roots of all evils just doesn't resonate as well as it once did. After all, it's hard for the leftists to sell the notion of America as a "racist" nation when they had to go to a lesser school because some black kid with inferior grades took their spot at Harvard because of affirmative action. It's hard to get them to buy into "sexism" when their mom is the CEO of Hewlett Packard and concerns about Islamic fascism is more than mere "phobia" to people who watched human beings burned alive while working in the same towers that they themselves had hoped to work in.

Yes, the leftists are likely to get a majority of all of these folks -- after all, children are still children and being "brain-dead" is one of the attributes of the Modern Liberal. But Obama is not going to get 99 percent of the black vote, seventy percent of the Jewish vote or landslide support from the kids in college much less their only slightly older brothers and sisters who have begun to actually live and work in the real world.

There is one more group that is going to be devastating to the Obama's hopes of taking over the world and that is the Traditional Democrat. For personal and political reasons this group tells pollsters and others that they are voting for The Anointed One (after all, they have to work with Obamaniacs for other candidates and on other issues for years to come and the Obamaniacs are a vicious and vengeful lot). When alone in the voting booth however (and when they can be anonymous on the internet) their support is for the candidate who is closer to them ideologically -- the center/right McCain to their center/left Hillary versus the radical leftist Obama and whom they respect as decent as opposed to the corrupt and vicious Obama.

Facts on the ground support my take. As much as the leftist media is complying with Obama's game plan to spin the election as an Obama corronation, Obama's own internal polls show Pennsylvania as a dead heat. And this was BEFORE John Murtha parroted Obama's hatred for the people of PA by calling them "racists" and "rednecks." Pennsylvania is the more Democrat state among Ohio, Virginia and the like and if Obama is likely losing in PA then he's likely losing by even more in these other states (and the Obama Staffer I referred to earlier says Obama's own data shows this to be so).

Further evidence of PA -- a bellwether state -- being in McCain's camp is the savvy governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell's panicked plea to The Anointed One to spend the dwindling resource of time in his state to "close the deal." Rendell calculated that Obama needs not one, not two, but THREE days of campaigning in Pennsylvania to even have a shot.

Obama is campaigning in IOWA. This is yet another one of those states that the leftist media told us was locked up long ago by The Messiah. Candidates on their way to a "landslide" aren't campaigning in states they long ago locked up.

Meanwhile, the latest spin that Obama quite literally bought is that Obama is so sure of a landslide he's "investing" in Republican states like North Dakota and even McCain's home state of Arizona. This is meaningless. Obama has tons of money -- money he's gotten by lying to the people and going outside federal campaign financing as he promised he wouldn't. Throwing a few bucks into these states bought him headlines that could be used to replace the fact that he's CAMPAIGNING in Pennsylvania and Iowa.

As the Obama Staffer makes clear, the hope of the Obama camp is to dispirit Republicans so that they can depress the vote and slow contributions (who sends their hard earned money to a campaign that's already lost?). The leftist media is in the bag for them. The polls are wrong -- sometimes through outright deception at other times because of the thuggery of Obama's team at ACORN...the FACTS are undeniable. McCain/Palin are in a tight race, but we are winning. The ONLY thing that can stop us is if we let the leftists depress our efforts.

Barack Obama is already setting the stage for his Marxist-based plan to redefine America through the confiscation of the income of some and its redistribution -- according to the whims of Obama and his supporters -- to others.

Obama promised at first only to steal the money of people making over $250,000 in one year. In other speeches he then dropped that amount to just $200,000. A few days later, Obama's running mate declared that the confiscation would begin with people making $150,000 in a single twelve month period and today Obama surrogate Bill Richardson lowered the figure again, now stating that "the rich" who Obama plans to punish for their success is anyone who dares to exceed $120,000 in earned income in the period of a year.

Now, the reality is that a good many people who make $120,000 in a year only make that amount after a long career of working, at first, for minimum wage, than making their way slowly up the ladder as their skills and knowledge increase and their worth to an employer increases. When these people finally enter the realm of what leftists call (for the moment) "the rich" this is the payoff of a lifetime of work, sacrifice, compromise, thrift and more. It is money that is to be used for the rest of their lives. When the multi-millionaires in Congress -- people like Obama (whose home alone is worth many millions, and was purchased only after a quid pro quo with convicted mobster "Tony" Rezko) -- declare that, at the end of their careers, anyone making a little over $100,000 dollars will have their money confiscated at a higher rate, they are condemning hard working and good people to welfare as they won't be able to take care of themselves in their retirement.

Ah, but so is the plan. When people are on welfare, they become de facto wards of the state. Just as parents can say to their kids "so long as you live under my roof you'll live by my rules," Obama knows that the more people he can force onto the government dole the more control he can have over their lives, behaviors and choices.

Protest at the Los Angeles Times

The Los Angeles Times, reeling from the deep cuts and unprecedented layoffs that have perfectly paralleled their self-inflicted loss of respect from all but the most radical leftists, finds themselves again willing to play the shill for their ideological brethren in the Obama camp at the expense of what is left of their own reputation. This time the once well-regarded paper has chosen to embargo from the people a videotape that they admit they hold in their possession that, by all accounts (including the reporter who is currently hiding the tape) shows Barack Obama at a celebration for the Arab/Islamic terrorist-supporter and longtime Obama friend, Rashid Khalidi.

Faced with the reality that the Times holds its own readership in disdain and sees itself not as an honest broker with the job of presenting the facts, but as partisans working on behalf of a particular ideology, forty Angelenos took to the streets in front of the Times' building in downtown Los Angeles this Thursday morning to make their voices heard and to demand nothing more than that the Times do its job as members of The Fourth Estate.

Just about every citizen engaged in the protest carried a sign, with messages ranging from the humorous "Free Tapette" to the personal "I'm From a Communist Country -- I've Seen This Before." (The latter making the slogan on a couple of tee-shirts for the Jewish Defense League -- "Never Again" -- only that much more poignant and powerful.)

Talk on the protest line was concurrently pessimistic and optimistic -- feelings that I share. Pessimistic about the horrors that an Obama presidency -- with a leftist-run media wholly in the tank on its behalf and a Congress led by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid -- would most likely bring down upon America, Americans and the world. Optimistic, however, that the same media that is withholding vital information it fears might upset Obama's plans to become the most powerful person in the world is also fudging the truth on the ground in this election, and that Senator John McCain is in good position to win the election in just four days.

Press coverage of the protest was -- as one would expect considering that it is the press itself that was being exposed by this action -- minimal. To their credit, there were a couple of reporters (TV and print) from local colleges and CNN did make an appearance, although the reporter seemed determined to interview no one other than a spokesman for the JDL in an effort, I presume, to spin the story as one of Jews against Muslims, not Americans demanding that the media do its job and present the American people with the facts that even they admit they hold in their possession.

From time to time, Times employees would gather on a balcony overlooking the peaceful protest and mock the people below, while one "editor" for the paper (who refused to identify himself by name) showed the same disdain and condescension for the men and woman (and a number of younger people) who had gathered that their peers at ABC and CBS News show to the Governor of Alaska and Joe the Plumber and other Americans who don't toe the line of their leftist ideology.

This show of arrogance and disdain did not appear to be dented one bit by the poll ratings for the news media that shows them held in even greater contempt today than is the Democrat Congress or by the plummeting circulation that has translated into the Times being forced to lay-off huge numbers of workers over the past several months alone.

There was one counter-protester -- a thirty-something with scraggly hair and one of those Che Guevara/Big Brother-looking Obama designs. When I asked him why he was protesting our merely asking for the Times to release information in their possession he offered one of the usual lines one hears from the other side, he called me a "racist."

Bottom line? The first I'd heard that the protest was going to become a reality was at eight o'clock this morning. I was told it only was officially scheduled around midnight last night. Considering how many people (remember, we're Republicans, not Democrats) have jobs and can't just "take the day off" (as Obama advised his followers to do on election day), it was a good event, and just the first salvo in what I suspect is going to be a long war against a media that no longer even feigns journalistic integrity and, instead, uses what's left of its currency to advance an ideological agenda.

The protest resumed at three p.m. with similar numbers and similar enthusiasm.

McCain is Winning Here's The Proof

John McCain has the upper hand in the November 4th election. How can I say that when the polls show Obama leading by anywhere from one (IBD, the most accurate pollster the last time out) to 13 from the folks who brought you Dan Rather and the use of forged documents to try and steal the election just four years ago. A brief look at the methodolgy of these polls -- the degree of over-sampling of Democrats corresponding almost to perfection with the degree of Obama's "lead" in them -- shows a tight race, with McCain actually leading by a point or two.

This reality is underscored by events within the campaigns which, when analyzed, show an Obama camp in desperation.

1) The politically savvy Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, is clearly panicking. Rendell has publicly begged the Obama campaign to send their star back to the state for no less than THREE major events to "close the deal" on a state that should have been closed for the leftists month ago.

And it's no wonder the campaign is panicking, an Obama internal poll was accidentally released to the media and it shows The Anointed One in a statistical dead heat with his American hero opponent. And this was BEFORE John Murtha basically parrotted Obama's San Francisco speech in which The Anointed One candidly spoke of his disdain for the people of Pennsylvania. Murtha may not be as eloquent as The One, but the condescension and disrespect that he has for the people who "cling" to their Christianity and constitutional rights is exactly the same.

Murtha's poll numbers are cratering. I can't imagine that Obama, who shares Murtha's convictions, aren't doing the same. If I were a Republican strategist, I'd be runing an ad every ten minutes with nothing but these Democrats own words and the tag line "If this is what they THINK of you, imagine what they plan to do TO you."

2) Obama has "suspended" campaigning -- something he refused to do to help quell the financial crisis that he sees as working in his favor -- in order to visit his ailing grandmother. Since this is the same grandmother he had cynically thrown under a bus in his wonderfully eloquent speech in defense of his mentor, Jeremiah Wright -- a woman he later described as nothing more than "a typical white woman," it is fair to be cynical about his real purpose in suddenly caring so much about her he would actually visit her (when he barely spent a minute with her just a few weeks ago when he vacationed in Hawaii.) I suspect, more than anything, it was a desperate attempt to get his name out of the news for a few days, to let the stink of his campaign go away, after several disastrous stories made their way into the public consciousness.

Over the past few weeks a narrative of Obama's thuggery was more and more coming to the fore. Despite the leftist media's best efforts to protect him, the actions of his minions in the thugocracy of ACORN, his allies' vicious attacks on a plumber who merely asked a policy question and the close ties of Obama to the terrorist who segued from murdering Americans to brainwashing their children more and more reminded Americans that they really don't know this neophyte, first term, junior senator who somehow managed to rise to the top of Chicago's corrupt political landscape by affiliating himself with the worst of the worst of the worst. A quick trip to visit "granny" and suddenly questioning the "grieving" candidate would be seen as below the belt.

Meanwhile, it's obvious that Obama DIDN'T suspend his campaign but instead used his time in Hawaii to put together what his campaign is calling a "major economic policy" speech. Unless grandma is a Harvard MBA, it's highly unlikely he wrote, edited and rehearsed this speech at the bedside of the woman he "cares" so much about.

3) Candidates who are well on their way to a landslide do not make "major speeches" in which they introduce new policy. Candidates who recognize that there is a deep mistrust of their policies do. Again, despite the best efforts of the leftist media, Obama's deeply held Marxist beliefs have made it into the minds of mainstream America and Obama, without any lead in the polls, feels he must explain away the evidence.

4) If you'll recall, the reason the God of Change chose Joseph Robinette Biden -- a guy who has been sitting in the US Senate since he was about the same age as Britney Spears is today -- was because he would quell the rightful fears of an electorate that recognizes Obama's utter lack of executive or foreign policy experience. Now Joe has shown himself to be, well, to be nice about it, wholly unhinged. From ordering cripples to "stand up" to describing Obama's fiscal policy in "three letters...J-O-B-S, to his belief that FDR was president in 1929 and that Americans all sat around their televisions watching him, Biden's mental health needs to be seriously questioned.

These insanities, however, pale in comparison to Biden's promise that, should Obama somehow manage to win (or steal) the election, there will be an iternationla crisis within six months BROUGHT ON BY OBAMA, not to mention Biden's expounding on the point by saying Obama's policies will appear to be the wrong response but trust us -- the wholly unknown Obama at the helm, the mentally unstable Biden his number two.

Just in case you think the recognition of Biden's mental instability is just my own, consider that even those fun-loving, Republican-hating kids at Saturday Night Live couldn't help but spoof Biden's insanity, titling their opening piece this week "Sen. Biden and Rep. Murtha Say Crazy Things..." What followed was an almost word-for-word re-enactment of Biden's actual speech.

Perhaps worst of all for the leftists is that cracks are beginning to appear in the monolithic and utterly corrupt media coverage. SNL's lampooning of Biden is but one example. Another is an interview that took place this week where Biden was actually asked a tough question or two. Biden, of course, failed miserably which, in turn, brought on the usual response from the Obama camp, the thuggish attempt to destroy, not Joe the Plumber but Barbara West, one of the few reporters Biden has met who doesn't work inside the cocoon of the Beltway or have aspirations to the anchor desk in leftist New York City.

Put together the panic in PA, the sudden "suspension" of the Obama campaign, the need for a major speech on "economic policy," the meltdown of the "experienced" one on the ticket, the gathering evidence of Obama's ties to thugs, criminals and terrorists, the over sampling of Democrats in the polls and more, and you get a clue as to where we really are in this campaign. With ten days or so to go, Obama's making moves of desperation.

Apparently Jack Murtha is finally going down. After years of the most vicious and hateful slander against American heroes fighting to liberate the people of Iraq, Murtha finally went too far when he described his own employers -- the people of Pennsylvania as "racist" and "rednecks."

Possible Explanation for Powell's Sell Out

Colin Powell knew he was hated -- in only the way The Left can hate -- within the Democrat Party. He was not only a "house nigg-r" -- a Republican -- who was nothing less than the Secretary of State who made the case for liberating the Iraqi people from the clutches of Saddam Hussein. It was this "Uncle Tom" who "lied us into war" and the leftists HATED him.

There is no one who doesn't recognize the hate and vindictiveness that so dominates today's Democrat party. This meant that, should the leftists take control of the government in two weeks and go through with what prominent leftist leaders in the Senate have promised would be "war crimes" prosecutions against fellow Americans (read: opposition party leaders), Powell might well be first on their list.

The purpose of these prosecutions, of course, would be to solidify the leftists' hold on government, to intimidate others from defending America in the future (remember, "war is not the answer") and, in the case of Powell, provide yet another public lesson to blacks who dare to not toe the leftist line of bitterness, entitlement and "oppression."

Powell recognized that, perhaps he could avoid the wrath of the leftist party if he came out in support of the leftist party. It was, in essence, a quid pro quo. Powell would help Obama win in exchange for "leniency."

Further evidence that this might well be the reason Obama is supporting a radical leftist when he has long claimed to be a Republican is that, in his appearance on "Meet the Press," Powell could not and did not offer a single policy of Obama's that he agrees with, nor did he speak at all of Obama's accomplishments. Instead he offered the usual arguments one hears from Obama "supporters," basically the Chris Matthews line that he "sends tingles up my legs" when he speaks.

Colin Powell appeared on "Meet The Press" and could not come up with a single substantive reason for supporting Obama. It was the usual, you know, he sends tingles towards my crotch answer one gets whenever one asks someone why they're voting for a corrupt, leftist thug.

Real reason for Powell's sell-out of America to come.

Meanwhile, Obama continues to plummet in the polls. Rasmussen, which at one point about two weeks ago had him up by as much as eight (as I recall) now has his "lead" cut in half. Battleground (George Washington University) poll saw The Anointed One's "lead" go from thirteen about two weeks ago is down to one. Both these polls over sample Democrats and neither considers what has been called the "enthusiasm gap" (brain-dead leftists exited by Obama's looks and voice who cheer his blowing his nose -- literally -- are more likely to waste their time taking phone calls than are people less enthusiastic about McCain who is, after all, only mortal. And all this before the Bradley Effect which measures the FEAR of being attacked as a "racist" if one doesn't give the politically correct answer to the stranger taking the poll (or worse, a visit from the thugs at Obama's ACORN.)

The truth is, factor in all of these things that are unpredictable in exact numbers but real nonetheless, anyone who thinks this race is over is in for a big surprise on election day.

Palin on SNL

Sarah Palin's appearance on Saturday Night Live was just one more plus for the McCain/Palin campaign in a week that saw McCain land several stunning blows to Obama in the debates, followed by a killer performance at the Alfred E. Smith dinner and then Late Show with David Letterman.

After these appearances it simply became impossible for the leftists to continue to promote their "big" issue -- that McCain is crotchety and old. The response of Letterman's audience to McCain should terrify the campaign of The Anointed One since he was greeted with cheers and applauded vigorously through the night on Letterman.

The same with Sarah Palin who, one might expect to receive a lukewarm reception from the young, New York City-based audience that is SNLs and Obama's. Instead the Governor of the nation's largest state was greeted by cheers and thunderous applause. Further, while the material was a tad lame (dancing Eskimos and the like), Palin showed herself better at playing herself than guest Alec Baldwin who appeared as himself.

Nonetheless, it was one more example of the McCain/Palin team being far different than they are being portrayed by the leftists and those who do their bidding in the press. Palin was game, attractive, fun and real and the SNL cast -- and perhaps most importantly Fey and Baldwin, both of whom have voiced some truly unkind things about the Governor of Alaska in the past -- appearing with her makes clear that the fear-mongering they employ to try and destroy her is just that.

In a statistical tie according to several top polls -- Rueters/Zogby and Gallup (traditional) come to mind -- McCain/Palin just need to continue to win these little battles. SNL was just another victory for the good guys.

Unscientific Thoughts

A couple of quick observations.

1) I live in Los Angeles and at this time four years ago I would see Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers aplenty on the highways, in parking garages, etc. While I certainly see more Obama stickers than McCain/Palin (the "Biden" is usually either not on the sticker at all or in a color intentionally designed to cover-up that bad mistake) they are very few and far between.

2) I do my writing at a coffee shop in LA. I always have on either a McCain/Palin button and sometimes one of several McCain and/or Palin tee-shirts. I sit always in a conspiruous place near the front door (that's where the electrical outlet is for my computer). The number of people who lean in and whisper "like your shirt" or "love your pin" is overwhelming.

Obviously these are not scientific surveys (as if polling is "scientific" -- you know, like "Ethnic Studies" is political "science") but this has been the pattern now for months and just one more piece of information that says McCain/Palin are doing far better than the folks who have gotten it wrong (and always in favor of the leftist candidate) for the past many elections.

Leftist Polls Politically Motivated

Go back and read the polls from this time in the 2004 election and they were all skewed to portray John Kerry as the inevitable winner. He was "up" in Ohio, he was said to be winning in Florida, etc.

Remember, the leftist media was circulating bogus "exit" polling that showed Kerry was winning in a landslide the very day of the election that he lost so badly even he had to concede (unlike Al Gore who saw personal riches in selling himself as a "victim" and lied about the election being stolen putting himself (surprise, surprise) ahead of his country.

Keep in mind that it was this same leftist media who immorally (if not illegally) called Florida (and thus the 2000 election) for Al Gore when half the state had not yet finished voting, in essence telling the Republican half of the state -- the panhandle -- to go home and not bother voting because the election had been decided.

All those silly "hanging chads" and every one of those supposedly "disenfranchised" (who, like people yelling "kill 'em" at a McCain rally never actually happened) are nothing compared to the tens of -- if not hundreds of thousands or millions of Republicans who were deceived by the leftist media into not voting in 2000.

So now they're at it again. The leftist media -- the same folks who used forged documents to try and steal the 2004 election -- are trying to dishearten Republicans and dampen their enthusiasm. Polls that oversample Democrats and polling methods wholly invented for THIS election -- after decades of using another method -- have been concocted to get the desired results.

Still, even with all of this, polls like Zogby (who publicly proclaimed last time that he would retire if John Kerry didn't win, that's how "sure" he was of Kerry's victory) now has the neophyte, leftist junior senator in a dead heat with an American hero, a man of great courage and decency. It's not true. McCain is ahead. Do not be disheartened by the efforts of the same people who give Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers a free pass but within five hours have already rifled through the tax returns and business papers of Joe the Plumber.

Thoughts on the state of the race

Another day and more good news. This news is coming in incrementally, with polls showing small changes almost daily now in a very clear pattern: the good guys are making their move.

This is reflected in the Gallup poll which not only, for the third straight day, showed the race a statistical dead heat according to their longstanding methodology but Obama's lead cut by a full third in their newly designed, "expanded" polling.

I think that McCain hurt himself with his first two debate performances (although I believe he won them based on his grasp of the facts, Obama polling better perhaps, because of his looks) when he played to the stereotypes of being "mean" by not looking at Obama in the first one and by just being lethargic (old) in the second. In the final debate McCain was strong, forceful and landed a good number of blows directly to Obama's chin, my favorite being when he turned to the camera and said something to the effect of "allow me to point out my opponent's 'eloquence.' Notice he didn't say we WOULD drill, only that he would 'look into it.'"

I think McCain let Obama win one important battle in that debate by bringing up Obama's ties to the terrorist William Ayers but not challenging Obama's half-truths and outright lies in defense of that relationship. Missed opportunity but not disastrous for the reason I'll discuss in a moment.

McCain's next several days also worked to his advantage when a bold and vigorous McCain landed hysterical blows against Obama at the Alfred Smith dinner. McCain was not only more fun than Obama, but his material hit Obama hard. Loved the line about Obama running back to Washington to handle the crisis should the economy become good again.

That was followed by the funny, sincere, lovable McCain on Letterman. The audience's response -- applause and affection -- should scare the hell out of Obama since Letterman's crowd is Obama's crowd.

None of these things alone are game-changing. But only two or four or even six points down, with Obama a candidate that rightly scares a lot of people, McCain reemerging as the guy at Saddleback Forum is clearly showing itself in the polls.

And then there was Joe the Plumber and Obama's slip about his socialist intentions. This came at just the right time (and, let's face it, Joe has just the right look) and Obama's thuggish efforts to destroy this hardworking man who did nothing other than offer a simple question to the candidate is only exacerbating the fears Americans have about a pretty candidate who somehow rapidly rose through the most corrupt system in America (Richard Daley's Chicago) to win two uncontested elections (where his opponents were forced off the ballot through Obama's chicanery) who has become filthy rich while cavorting with terrorists, mobsters, hate-mongers like his mentor Jeremiah Wright and the thugs at ACORN.

So long as McCain continues to show himself in the best light the numbers will continue to move incrementally to his side. This, in turn, will see only more and more of the type of attacks that Obama (and his allies in the leftist media) are becoming more and more known for only doubling down on HIS image as a thug to be rightly feared.

Tonight's appearance by Governor Palin, another good American treated to the thuggery of the Obama campaign and those who get sexual thrills from looking at him like Chris Matthews, on Saturday Night Live. If she's any kind of good that will be just one bump in favor of the good guys.

There may not be any game-changers left in this campaign. I'm feeling pretty good about the game we're playing. The Anointed One who, by all accounts should have been thirty-five points ahead by now, is struggling to hold onto a statistically insignificant lead with EVERYTHING now going against him.

I was on a radio program the other day, facing off against a typical, brain-dead (spoiled, filthy rich) Hollywood leftist. He vomited out one (of course) anti-American leftist talking point after another. Each of them I easily batted away with fact, evidence and reason only to see him jump to another (of course anti-American) leftist talking point. Finally, out of talking points (never actually having been challenged before at his Hollywood hot tub parties where political discourse consists of "Bush is Hitler," "Yeah, he's Hitler," "Wanna get high?") my "competition" shouted out "I don't care about the facts!!!"

He's not alone. The dismissal of facts is central to the Modern Liberal as facts are things used by people trying to be right. In their world it is the effort to be right that is the cause of all evil. If no one ever tried to be right then we wouldn't get into disagreements and fights. War would not be the answer because if right doesn't exist, what would you fight over?

Funny, however, when just a little while later the same leftist threatened to punch me in the nose for exposing his moronity. I, again, put him in his place by reminding him that "war is not the answer." Of course, to the leftist violence IS the answer to shut up fellow Americans, just not to stop Islamic fascists.

Here we are with about a month to go and Barack Obama clearly cannot seal the deal.

Despite the best efforts of the wholly corrupt leftist media to portray Governor Sarah Palin as a naive rube -- you know, the kind of person who "clings" to Christianity because she's stupid, bigoted and bitter -- Governor Palin has reemerged as the real American hero that she is.

Today's polls show McCain/Palin closing the gap with The Anointed One's lead cut by a full quarter in today's Rasmussen Poll, nearly in half in the Battleground poll and down to a single point in Hotline while Reuters records the precipitous drop from a high of about eight points for the team of academics-turned-lawyers and now career politicians of the left just a few days ago, to a mere two today.

This trend allowed John McCain to not have to go for the jugular in the face-to-facce debate last night as the leftist media so powerfully suggested. Instead, with the trend line in favor of the can-do war hero and hockey-mom turned Governor, McCain could further chip away at The Anointed One's lead by exposing his naivite and arrogance one question at a time.

Meanwhile, the Governor of the largest state in the union, Palin is out on the road picking up endorsements -- like the virtually unreported support from the president of the National Organization for Women's largest chapter (Los Angeles) -- and taking the truth about Obama's long-standing and deep relationship with terrorists like William Ayers, hate mongers like Jeremiah Wright and convicted mobsters like Tony Rezko over the heads of the former daytime chat show hosts like Chuck Gibson and Katie Couric and directly to the real people of America. It's working big time!

With just under a month to go, The Anointed One -- despite the all out propaganda efforts of the media -- has failed to close the deal, his lead is shrinking and we go into the homestretch with the good guys on the ascendancy.

Why Democrats Hate McCain and Palin

Democrats are terrified of people who care about anything beyond self and moment. This is why Barack Obama's affiliations with hatemongers, terrorists and mobsters doesn't bother them. He was just doing what he had to do to get rich and powerful and to promote himself.

John McCain, on the other hand, joined the military and, when he was offered for propaganda value the chance for early release, he turned it down because it wouldn't be right. In journalism school "man bites dog" is taught to be one of the great news stories of all time. Similarly, when I asked my friend David Frum to explain the criterion he used to decide what pieces would make the op-ed page of the Wall Street Journal one of the answers he gave was a letter that started something like "I'm the president of the state NAACP and I'm against Affirmative Action because..."

So when, at a massive rally for Sarah Palin in, of all places, Southern California, (over twenty thousand in attendance), Shelley Mandel, the President of the National Organization for Women's largest chapter (Los Angeles), strode out on the stage to introduce and endorse Governor Palin, by every standard of journalism this should have been a huge story reported in every one of our media outlets.

Instead, I'm willing to bet that this is either the first time you've heard of it or, if you've heard of this important endorsement it was via another blog or from some Republican by word of mouth.

Just as leftist judges have become "activists" caring nothing about the law or constitution, so, too, the leftist media. They must be treated as the enemy of freedom and democracy that they've become.

There are three important things learned from Governor Palin's drubbing of the guy who has sat in the Senate since he was about the same age as Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are today.

First there is the image and, let's face it, the young, vibrant and strong Governor of America's largest state won hands down over the tired, old mumbling lawyer-turned-lifelong politician.

Then there is substance and, while Biden might have fooled some with some of his longer-winded answers that sounded like knowledge, the bottomline is that he was factually wrong time and again. I can't wait for the McCain team's ad with Biden's lie about being in favor of clean coal intercut with what he actually said (and repeated for emphasis) while out on the campaign trail. Governor Palin's right, these folks DO say one thing when they're talking to one group of people and something else entirely when they're talking to another.

Finally, the big loser wasn't just "Say it ain't so" Joe, it was the leftist media who now has yet again been exposed as fools and liars. Twice the American people have met Governor Palin in big and important and revealing events (her home run convention speech and her home run debate performance) and twice via leftist media interviews. Twice she has been incredible and twice made to look like a dunce. What's the difference between these events? There was nothing the leftists could do to edit the tapes to make the great governor look bad.

Katie and Chuck -- interestingly enough, both only recently co-hosts on daytime chat shows with names like "Good Morning America" and "The Today Show" told the world that Governor Palin was stupid and inept and unqualified. When they couldn't take the tapes to the editing room the American people saw that, yet again, the leftist media had lied to them.

What this election is about is very clear, the can-do, love-America, personal responsibility first, government last beliefs of the maverick of the Senate -- a war hero with real life experience -- and the hockey mom, the Mrs. Smith goes to Washington, versus the professional lawyers-turned-lifelong politicians, people of words and anger and pettiness. The American people will now decide!

The Cult of Indiscriminteness Caused The Crisis

To paraphrase Professor Allan Bloom, the Modern Liberal "has been raised to believe that indiscriminateness is a moral imperative because its opposite is (the evil of) discrimination." Not wanting to be an evil discriminator, the Modern Liberal then opts to be utterly indiscriminate. This indiscriminateness of thought leads the Modern Liberal not to indiscriminateness of policy but rather to side always with evil over good, wrong over right and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. After all, if nothing is better than anything else, then success is, de facto, unjust and failure, de facto, the victim of one thing or another. To right this injustice, then, the Modern Liberal seeks to deny the successful the "ill-gotten" fruits of their success and to reward and compensate the failed who could have failed through no fault of their own, for to recognize fault would require the employment of the critical judgment the Modern Liberal believes to be discrimination. As one would expect, by siding always with evil, failure and wrong the Modern Liberals' policies end up in disaster.

It is this philosophy of indiscriminateness that is the cause of the financial crisis we now face.

In 1999, President Bill Clinton looked over the mortgage lending industry and noticed that there was discrimination taking place. The pattern was clear, banks were far more likely to lend money to people who were more likely to be able to pay back those loans than to those who weren't. The banks were using discriminating thought -- risk assessment -- which the Democrats took to be discrimination and therefore sought to put an end to that evil.

Under Clinton's orders, banks would no longer consider the "outdated" criterion of discrimination -- such as whether the borrower had a job or was on welfare -- and, instead, lend money indiscriminately to those who can pay back the loan and those who can't equally.

As with all other programs of indiscriminateness, the proof that the evil of discrimination had been eradicated would be its adherence to a quota system. After all, if there is no recognizable difference between things, than all things should be represented in exactly its proportion to the population. Since there is no difference between those who can pay back loans and those who cant', the ideal quota -- as stated by Andrew Cuomo,Clinton's secretary of Housing and Urban Development -- was fifty percent, with half the loans going to those who qualified and the other half to those who didn't.

The job of the banker, then, was no longer to employ discriminating thought in order to find as many QUALIFIED recipients for their loans as possible (after all, that's how banks make their money) but, instead, their job became to fulfill their government proscribed quota through "creative" banking.

Like the Christians and Jews in Barack Obama's dreams, the bankers would no longer "cling to" their bigoted, "outdated" policies of risk assessment and, instead, would simply seek ways to justify loaning money to those who, through the evil act of thinking, would not have been given the cash. As Ann Coulter noted, bankers would include unemployment benefits and welfare checks as sources of income to help justify the unjustifiable.

This house of cards stayed up for a few years because, with all of the unqualified now buying houses, housing prices rose (supply and demand and all that) and, so long as housing prices kept rising, the unqualified could simply refinance their mortgage based on the higher "value" of their house or, if need be, sell at a profit.

But -- and a lot of young Americans don't understand this -- not everything goes up forever. When housing prices reached a point where not even the folks Barack Obama calls "the rich" could afford a small house in Hollywood or San Francisco prices inched downward. This meant the folks who bought their house using unemployment checks and welfare stubs couldn't make the next months mortgage payment. With the goal having been half of all mortgages owned by Fannie Mae going to the unqualified, it's not hard to figure out why they went belly up.

By championing the unqualified, the Democrats may have had good intentions, but the reality is as it always is with the Modern Liberal, EVERYBODY has gotten hurt and, arguably, the poor worst of all. By eliminating the discriminating thought of risk assessment those who did not qualify are, today, no better off than they were before. In fact, it can be argued that they are WORSE off because the incentive to make themselves qualified by improving themselves and their efforts had been eliminated by their having received the rewards without qualifying for them.

Meanwhile, those who have done what is required to qualify for loans to buy a house or start a business find that there are no loans to be had. Obviously this is bad for them, but it is also bad for those receiving unemployment benefits and welfare checks as the jobs these loans would have helped create are now not being created.

And now we are ALL being burdened with a nearly one trillion dollar bail out for the banks who were doing just fine until the Clinton Administration recognized that they were engaging in the discriminating practices of not loaning money to people who do not have the means of paying them back.

Obama Couldn't Remember Soldier's Name

One of the most telling moments of Obama's "um-er-fest" of a performance at the debate on Friday was when he yelled "me, too. I have a bracelet, too" and then couldn't remember the name of the soldier he supposedly cared so much about.

Well, as it turns out, the family of Sergeant Ryan David Jopek had asked Obama to stop using their son's name for his personal gain.

It's not surprising that Obama wouldn't know the name of the soldier nor that he would ignore the wishes of his grieving parents because Obama has ALWAYS been a user, someone who takes advantage of others at any moment for any reason that advances his personal ambitions.

Remember when he was defending his hate-mongering mentor so to justify HIS viciousness, he attacked his own grandmother? Remember when the polls showed that his oration hadn't worked so the same "uncle" he could never disown was quickly disowned and thrown under the bus with his grandmother?

Obama should apologize to the family of Sergeant Jopek and the people should hold him in the contempt that he has repeatedly earned.

Debate: Just What One Would Expect

Last night's debate solidified what we already know about the candidates: one is a talker, the other a doer. Obama reminded me of the high school student at the mock UN who has studied the "right" answers but has no idea what he's talking about.

One of the more telling moments was when the war hero McCain talked about a bracelet he wears with a soldier's name and told a touching story about the young man's mother. Almost like Horshack on "Welcome Back Kotter," Obama couldn't wait to "ooh---ooh-ooh, Mr. Kot-ter...I have a bracelet, too..." and then he couldn't remember the name of the soldier he supposedly cares so much about. Classic.

And, of course, when Obama tried to be Clintonesque he just failed miserably..."uh, er, um...when I said I would meet without conditions I didn't mean conditions, conditions and, um, er, uh...Henry Kissinger agrees."

Only problem? Henry Kissinger is still alive so the neophyte, first term, junior senator/community organizer couldn't get away with it. Kissinger quickly made clear that not only did he not say what Obama desperately needed him to have said, he finds it as foolish and foolhardy as do the rest of us.

I love how, in defense of his clearly stated position -- unconditional talks with the terrorists and dictators -- Obama admitted that it would be stupid to believe that he meant what he said.

Yes, Obama looked very pretty in his best suit. I'm sure that he has a terrific future ahead of him. I wish him the best of luck in college and in all of his future endeavors.

According to his home state newspaper, Harry Reid declared that he's going to manipulate the proceedings so that the well-rehearsed theatrics of a debate -- a debate that Obama has run from repeatedly in the form of town halls offered by McCain from day one (and accepted by Obama) -- can go on. With all sides agreeing that time is running out, Reid's cynical politics is exactly what the American people don't need.

The Democrats are being asked to be Americans. They can't. They can only be Democrats.

McCain Is A Leader, Obama Just Plays One On TV

The American financial system is in crisis. This is not in question.

While we can have discussions later about who and what is to blame (Democrats), the markets have told us that, if we don't act and act soon, the stock market will plummet. That's what it did for several days as the crisis first became apparent.

That the overall fundamentals of the economy remain strong -- just as the statesman John McCain said in what was a factually true but perhaps politically unwise statement -- was proved when the markets responded with historic gains upon the announcement that the problem was recognized and was being addressed. When the Democrats insisted upon pork-style add-ons and delayed the bill, the markets showed their concern with several consecutive days of significant loses.

The stock market is the professionals' assessment of the short-to-midterm of American business. If the knot in the credit pipeline is dealt with, America remains the best place to invest ones money. If that knot is not dealt with, then American business is in big trouble.

Congress is struggling to get it done, but the usual suspects in the majority party -- Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to name but two -- have neither the political acumen nor the public support to take bold action. The other player who would normally take the lead, the President, is, with his replacement being chosen in just a few weeks, the lamest of lame ducks and thus equally unable to use power and persuasion to get this thing done.

This leaves only two men with the power and the moral suasion to lead us through what everyone agrees is a crisis moment: John McCain and Barack Obama.

If returning to Washington meant that McCain and Obama would be just two of one hundred senators then there would be no need for their presence and the McCain-detractors would be right in saying that his decision to put off campaigning for several days to be in the capitol is political theater might carry some weight. But McCain -- and, if he finally follows suit, Obama -- go to Washington as the newly elected leaders of their respective parties and as such, they are the only people who can take the lead, twist arms, persuade, cajole and get things done.

Some argue that these men don't have to be in Washington in order to lead in this crisis. They are wrong. During such negotiations -- both intense and time sensitive -- people need to be able to whisper in someone's ear, take a quick meeting with someone else in the cloakroom and be there to keep discussions on track.

Obama's argument is that his presence -- in fact his participation in the negotiations -- is unnecessary. But the entire premise of Obama's campaign is that he's the only person who has the magical abilities to get feuding parties to come to peace. His unique skill is that of "bringing people together." Instead he has decided to set himself apart, out on the campaign trail kissing babies and reading stump speeches from teleprompters and engaging in a debate that has nothing to do with finances and has become, in recent years, little more than theatrics.

One sense yet again that McCain has put his political ambition on hold, taken a bold political risk, for the good of his country while Obama has, yet again, voted "present," kept his hands clean and, by doing so, hopes to avoid any political fallout that comes from leading.

McCain is right and Obama wrong. What America needs now is not carefully crafted public pronouncements and well-rehearsed answers to questions posed by talking heads from one network or another. What America needs is action and we need it now. John McCain is a leader, Barack Obama only plays one on TV.

Obambi Tells America "Up Yours" Again

Either Barack Obama doesn't really believe that we are fighting to stop an economic crisis or he just doesn't care. For him to be playing politics at this juncture means that, once again, he just doesn't care about anything other than himself. (This is why he could belong to a hate church for twenty years...so what if they spread hate, it's good for his Chicago political ambitions.)

The idea that Congress can "call him if they need him" is so typical of Obama. Just another way to vote "present" and play no part in the actual negotiations and efforts being conducted in Washington. The utter arrogance of this man is stunning -- although no longer the least bit surprising.

If this is a real crisis leaders lead, they don't grandstand and play games. Tough and important negotiations are being conducted and Obama wants to avoid being a part of them. This isn't leadership, it is moral and political cowardess that we've come to expect from The Anointed One.

Unlike other Hollywood movies, this one has real bad guys as the bad guys -- you know, Islamic fascists and their enablers and idolizers in Hollywood.

My Sense of Things Today

There's no real reason for my sense of optimism today. No new polls out that say one way or another that things have substantially changed in this campaign. There's some evidence of a slight shift towards Obama (mostly national polls that see him up by a point or three) and other evidence that things are going the way of the good guys -- mostly state polls that show McCain/Palin making tight races of states that should long ago have been wrapped up by the Obama-Biden team.

I can't help thinking that the economic scare and its aftermath works to the benefit of McCain although I certainly understand the counterargument. Here's my thinking: first, when crises hits who do you want at the helm, the hand of experience or the neophyte whose impulse is to increase taxes and hamper business with more and more regulations borne of academic theory not life experience?

Further, the strong and swift hand of the current administration in turning around the immediate crises so that, by the end of the week's trading, the market (an indicator of the beliefs of the professionals about the short-and-medium term future of America's business and economic climate) was down a grand total of 34 points, says that experience does, in fact matter and that the pros in the Republican camp have showed their ability to handle crises.

Further, still, Obama's close ties -- both actual and philosophical -- to the disastrous (but high-minded) Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, speaks volumes about the disastrous policy that is likely to be Obama's should he win in November. These connections are only amplified by Obama's silence in the days after the crises broke, something he's selling (again) as "high minded" but which is, in effect, Obama voting "present" yet again on the tough issues. The guy who has run for almost two years on two words -- "hope" and "change" -- would not or could not give any more information when crises hit.

I am also confident because, as despicable as was Charles Gibson's efforts to destroy Sarah Palin, the fact that she didn't hit it out of the park is what people saw. It's like the fruits of the poisoned tree. Yes, everyone recognized that Gibson was a dishonest (and factually wrong) player for the left but that doesn't change the fact that Palin did not equal (or even approach) the image we had had of her prior.

That being said, not all future interviews are going to be with such morally and intellectually corrupt actors as Gibson and there are events yet to come -- most notably the debates -- where the leftists won't be able to edit the footage the way ABC News did the Palin interview. Further, Governor Palin is only going to get better and better as she quickly learns to deal with a national media that has its own, pro-leftist, agenda. This means that any damage that Gibson in his questions and ABC News in the editing room might have succeeded in doing to Governor Palin is the worst of it and, with a month-and-a-half to go, the Governor's numbers are only going to go up and up.

Finally, I think that the Obama camp's threats against Jewish organizations if they didn't do as they say and "disinvite" Governor Palin is going to do severe damage to the leftists. More and more the true character of today's Democrat Party is coming out and more and more Jews (such as this one) are recognizing the Democrats to be exactly the opposite of what they claim to be (and the leftist media has promoted). One prominent Jewish Democrat compared the Obama threats as "McCarthyism." These are the kinds of things that bring sea changes to people's politics.

I suspect, pending the opening of the stock market next week and if the economy continues to show overall strength -- that the national numbers will return to McCain's favor as the blue states continue to turn redder and redder.

CBS News in New York has revealed that intense pressure was put on the organizers of the joint protest rally against the Iranian madman Ahmadinejad to disinvite Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. This pressure included threatening the tax-exempt status of these Jewish organizations -- including those that are traditional Democrat Party supporters.

One Jewish leader -- a lifelong Democrat -- rightly compared the Democrats' threats to McCarthyism, a tactic that those of us who live and work in Hollywood know to be a standard practice of today's left.

Obama Finally Talks Tough -- Calls for Violence Against Americans

Finally, Barack Obama is talking tough.

Oh, he's not calling for strong measures against terrorists. Obama believes that the terrorists need to be shown more "humility."

Nor did he use his speech in Elko, Nevada to call for tough measures against the Iranian mullahs and their hate-mongering figurehead, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Nope with Mu-mu, Barry plans to allow him to continue to build his nuclear weapons as we sit down and negotiate with him WITHOUT PRE-CONDITIONS. In other words, he can continue to build his bomb while Barry asks him what we've done to make him so sad and what we can give him to make him more glad. You see, Barry thinks the terrorists cling to their beliefs because they're bitter, too. Take away the bitterness by providing them with more guns, money, land, "dignity" etc and then they won't be so sad.

Nor did he use his angry speech filled with half-truths and outright lies to call for a tough stance against the Syrian dictator or the despot who rules North Korea with an iron hand. After all, as a "citizen of the world" Obama is a citizen of North Korea and Syria, too.

Nope, The Anointed One used his talk to 17,000 of the folks who faint at his sight and who get tingles rushing up their legs at the resonance of his voice to call for violence against the same Americans Obama has previously characterized as stupid, bigoted and bitter.

Obama's latest call for physical violence follows a campaign of intimidation ordered by his campaign against radio stations where people knowledgable about his work with terrorists were being interviewed.

Why is Barry resorting to thuggery? Because his "I Am God" routine didn't work, his rhetoric is failing, his multiple attempts to play the race card has seen nothing but people laughing in his face over the usual "I'm a victim" routine of the leftists. Frankly, Obama is calling for physical violence against fellow Americans because that's the way thugs do their business.

The good news is that the effete who support Obama -- the morally and intellectually vapid who swoon at his concerts because he's just so pretty and those who get sexual thrills: those tingles running up their legs just by looking at him -- can't "get in people's faces" because they are cowards. They can key people's cars and break their windows but get face-to-face with real Americans? Think John Edwards going toe-to-toe with Chuck Norris. Think Britney Spears duking it out with Ted Nugent. Think Brad Pitt or Sean Penn or Alec Baldwin versus Sarah Palin. Is there anyone who wouldn't put their money on the Governor to defeat the effete?

These arrogant narcissists are convinced that you are stupid because you have been duped into believing in God (and you continue to "cling" to that belief) and that your are bigoted because you love America (they themselves are "citizens of the world").

Since you are stupid and bigoted -- like Sarah Palin -- you need to be controlled. This control comes in two forms, taking away the freedom that comes from making decisions with your own money and the creation of more and more laws that restrict your freedom.

Ask yourself why are the leftists so "outraged" at Sarah Palin speaking at her church and saying we should pray for our troops but not the least bit outraged at Barack Obama's being the protege of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, an affiliation that lasted his entire adult life, saw Obama (albeit it quite eloquently) throw his grandmother under a bus to protect the hate-monger's racist ministry? It's because they hate Governor Palin's patriotism and love of God, but they agree with Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, William Ayers and the rest of today's Democrat Party that God should "damn America."

Leftist Media Bias

There is no reasonable person who doesn't recognize that the leftist media has long since abandoned mere bias and is now working whole-heartedly on behalf of electing Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Just a few examples should suffice -- and this doesn't even include Chris Matthews admitting on air to getting a sexual thrill when he hears Obama speak.

1) For well over a year-and-a-half an easily accessible tape -- it was being sold in the church "gift shop" -- of Barack Obama's self-proclaimed "mentor," Jeremiah Wright in which the man dances across the stage shouting that God should "damn America" as the congregation screams its approval was embargoed from the American people by every major news outlet save FOX News, yet an obscure apparently homemade video of Governor Sarah Palin, saying in essence that God should bless America was somehow "discovered" within days of her selection and spun by the media to imply that she sees Iraq as a "holy war."

2) When Barack Obama slipped up and began talking about "My Muslim faith" on ABC News he was quickly corrected and protected by the interviewer. A few days later when Charles Gibson engaged in his inquisition of his guest, Governor Sarah Palin, he played "gotcha" the whole time. Thinking he had "caught" her on a question regarding "The Bush Doctrine," far from being "helpful" he attempted to embarass her. Jokes on ABC yet again as it was Gibson who didn't have a clue what he was talking about (there are many parts to "The Bush Doctrine" and the governor was right to ask him to clarify the question).

3) While the fake "scandal" of "Troopergate" continues to see the leftist media networks sending hoards of investigators to Alaska, the very real, long term corruption of Barack Obama with convicted mobsters, domesitc terrorists and the aforementioned leader of a hate church have been investigated and reported on almost not at all.

The good news is two-fold. First, part of the reason the leftist media has to be so utterly corrupt is that there is now an alternative media that allows for the truth to seep out over time. Yes it took Sean Hannity and the internet over a year to do Brian Williams and Katie Couric's job and get the video of hatemonger Jeremiah Wright into the public consciousness, but they did and it is and no matter how desperately the leftist media works to cover it back up, the cat is already out of the bag.

This isn't the old days where "the truth" was dictated unquestioned by one of the three monolithic, New York City pretty boys who would tell the world what was "real" unquestioned, uninterrupted, unchallenged. Not all that long ago the Canadian born socialist Peter Jennings could merely present biased news and, with no other voice, that bias was enough to win the day. Today,with the truth available through secondary sources like the internet, talk radio and the lone non-leftist news outlet on TV, Fox, they have to go beyond mere bias to out-and-out advocacy for their cause.

Finally, the culture of narcissism that is the hallmark of the Modern Liberal era that elevates self and self-esteem over others and doing estimable things, sees the Modern Liberal uninterested in things like journalistic standards. When Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann destroy whatever reputation NBC News may once have had in order to promote the guy who gives them a hardon they do so without any regard for the history of their network nor any interest in the future journalist who will begin his career as distrusted as these types of "reporters" have made the media in the past few years. A "scorched earth" policy is acceptable to today's journalist because, as a narcissist, they couldn't care less about those who came before them nor those who come after them. Whatever sends "tingles" towards their groin at any given moment gets all of their love.

Obama Takes Off The Long, Pink Gloves

So the new line of attack is to call one of America's great heroes a "liar." Yep, that's really what the "post-partisan," "new kind of politician" is down to. Playing the race card and calling names. The Anointed One has turned rapidly into The Annoying One. He's a whiner and a cry-baby and, well, just plain desperate.

Let's see, we've known John McCain for fifty years. We've seen him do the right thing under the pressure of torture, we've seen him do the right thing as a statesman, in fact, in this campaign alone he took the unpopular position of promoting the surge saying "I'd rather lose an election than see my country lose a war."

Meanwhile, we know Barack Hussein Obama for about twelve minutes. What do we know about him? We know that he's willing to belong to a church that proclaims that God should damn America and then throws his own grandmother under a bus to protect what he himself admits is his longtime mentor, Jeremiah Wright. We know that for personal and political advantage he'll work side-by-side with terrorists and then seek to cover-up their true agendas and we know that for money he will engage in quid pro quos with mobsters. I'm pretty confident the American people -- no matter how much disdain the Democrats have for them -- will see through this last desperate attack of the leftists and America will have been saved.

Obama Attacks War Hero for his Wounds

Obama Desperate, Turns to Calling Names

We have known John McCain for almost fifty years. During this time he has repeatedly shown himself to be a man of the highest honor -- under the most trying of circumstances. Beaten -- with every bone in his body broken -- he remained loyal to his fellow Americans both in the prison with him and at home.

When he was running for President he took the position that America needed to create a surge in Iraq. It was a position that, had it failed, would have cost him any chance he might have had to become President. At that time he said "I'd rather lose an election than have my country lose a war."

Now the protege of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright is using Wright's tactics to try and smear a great man. All decent people must stand up and say "that's enough, Barack." Democrats are always whining about "divisiveness." What could be more divisive than this slanderous attack on a man who has given so much and sered so honorably?

You can disagree with his policies. You can not care for his demeanor. Whatever, but employing tactics learned at the knee of Reverend Wright is unacceptable and it will backfire.

Bradley Effect

Governor Palin on ABC

Watched the first ten minutes or so of Governor Palins interview with ABC News and was thoroughly impressed. From powerful campaigner to thoughtful and knowledgeable "diplomat," saying what she could say and, as professionals know, leaving certain things on the table without coming out and saying them (despite the Charles Gibson's inappropriate efforts to move her past the diplomatic) showed a great degree of sophistication in international diplomacy garnered through her face-to-face experience with international leaders bordering her state and elsewhere.

I thought Governor Palin was very smart to name the names of the leaders in each of the country's that Mr. Gibson asked about. It showed a depth of knowledge surely deeper than the number one man on the opposing ticket who thinks that America is comprised of 57 states and that World War II started with the Japanese dropping the atomic bomb on Hawaii.

I'm waiting to see the rest of the ABC interview but, early in the game, it's Palin One, Obama/Biden still zero.

Obama's Executive Experience

Recently, to cover for his lack of executive experience, Barack Obama suggested that his presidential campaign is proof that he can run something. He compared it, in fact, to the responsiblities and experience of a small town mayor, a disparaging -- considering what we know about Obama's feelings about people who live in small towns -- reference to the second line on the resume not on his opponents resume but on his opponent's running mate's, Governor Sarah Palin.

The fact that the Democrat's candidate to be commander-in-chief feels the need to compare himself to the Republican's number two is telling in and of itself. That he needs to compare himself to the number two's entry-level job as evidence that he is at least as good as she is, is telling enough. Barack Obama is wholly unqualified to be President of the United States and he knows it.

But let's give the Harvard-trained lawyer and member of "the world's most elite debating society" his premise. Let's see how his case that his running of his election campaign should act as proof that he can run things well. But has he run his campaign well?

By all accounts this was to be a runaway year for the Democrats. Talk was of an Obama landslide. A corrupt leftist media, some of whom admitted to getting sexual thrills in the form of tingles running up their legs whenever they saw his slender body appear on stage were working on his behalf. Well known tapes of Obama with his mentor were covered up on his behalf, his connection to the mob unreported, his affiliation with terrorists down-played and spun to his advantage. All The Anointed One had to do was say "hope" and "change" and he and Michelle could be proud of America for the first time in their lives.

So how's he doing? How's he managed that landslide? He's trailing in the polls, he's heading downwards and he's taking other Democrats with him.

So, even though we've agreed to compare his resume to the Republicans number two, and agreed to compare his top "executive" experience to the second line on her resume and even though he disparages the small town mayor while attempting to prove that he's presidential stuff by comparing himself to a small town mayor, even at that, Obama fails.

Zogby's new poll, the first I'm aware of that reflects the entire Republican convention is out and it has the Good Guys up by four! That is about an eight-point turn around from Obama's Greek God performance to today.

The excitement for McCain/Palin is palpable while the Obamamaniacs are literally in shock. The same people who were fainting at the sight of The Anointed One, cheering him blowing his nose (literally, they cheered when The One successfully blew his nose at one event) and admitting to getting sexual thrills -- tingles running up their legs -- just by looking at him are now morose.

Once again the radical leftist can't understand how spewing hate and lies about America, multi-millionaires whining about how the people owe them more and who take the enemy's side on every issue isn't a winning strategy.

Democrats are clearly sexists

Ever since John McCain chose Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate the angry leftist punditry has had their panties in a ball. Their standard attack is to accuse Republicans of being so cynical that they think that Democrat-voters are going to mindlessly jump to the McCain side simply because, in the delicate words of one bitter feminist (is there any other kind?) "they both have vaginas."

Yet, it seems to me that the insult to women comes not from the Republicans who, at worst, if the leftists' claims about their opponents' motives are true, be called "cynical," but from these angry leftists themselves who are clearly so concerned that their followers might be confused into accidentally voting for the wrong vagina.

That these articles and talking points from the leftist talking heads on CNN and MSNBC are such a steady drumbeat the Democrats must think their followers are VERY stupid indeed. I can't imagine a single Sarah Palin fan accidentally voting for Hillary because they couldn't tell them apart. I guess Republicans are just smarter than Democrats.

The sexism endemic to the Democrat Party is on display in the Obama camp's response to the choice of Governor Palin as well. Why would Obama specifically choose one sex over another in taking on Sarah Palin unless they thought that women can't understand what men are saying? Obviously that's sexism. I guess he needed to get those women out there to remind the Democrats what the right vagina looks like.

And of course it is hard to deny the sexism behind Barack Obama's passing over the most accomplished candidate in the field -- the person, Hillary Clinton, who garnered even more votes than Obama himself -- in order to give the job to an also-ran in the primaries, just another stale member of "the old boys' club," Joseph Biden, Jr.

Now Obama is turning to Senator Clinton to take on the opposing vice presidential nominee. Traditionally that's the job of the candidate's running mate. In essence, then, she's being asked to do the work of a man (Joe Biden) but not get paid like a man (being made Obama's running mate.)

Random Thoughts Re: Convention

New polls are out and the Democrats have every reason to be terrified. The Obama bounce from his Greek Temple, I am Zeus, lecture has already been cut in half according to Gallup, is down to a single point according to Rasmussen and is exactly ZERO according to CBS. And this is BEFORE the full force of the Palin grand slam
was factored in and with none of the bounce that McCain's commanding speech -- his two on, two out, walk-off double, will surely garner.

This convention was HUGELY successful in every way. Starting with the lead-up when McCain announced his selection of the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, to the closing talk of the commanding next Commander-in-Chief, EVERYTHING of importance that the America-lovers could want we got.

So much to learn from the very different selections for running mate made by the men at the top of their respective ticket. Barack Obama, the guy who, due to his lack of experience, is running on bromides like "Hope" and "Change" (without ever once telling us what he hopes to do to us or what he plans to change us into) makes the cowardly choice of the stale Joseph Robinette Biden -- the quintessential prep school raised, lawyer-turned-career-politician who, since he was about the age of Britney Spears has been a non-nondescript member of what is known as "the world's most exclusive debating society."

Compare and contrast this cowardly choice by The Anointed One and the bold, forward-looking sure-handed and confident decision of the commanding John McCain. Once again we see one of the recurring themes of political life -- Democrats talk, Republicans do. Democrats are lawyers and academics, Republicans are war heroes and PTA moms. Obama TALKS about change, McCain brings it about.

Another difference is that Republicans are humble, Democrats arrogant. Could you even imagine McCain giving an "I Am Zeus" speech standing amongst giant fake Greek Columns?
Nope, rather than being far from "the little people" as Zeus was in Denver, McCain had a simple stage, a small lectern while he stood WITH the people. That says it all.

From the time we first met The Anointed One, one thing has been consistent (and that's NOT his policies). It's that whenever he is on the teleprompter he's a great
"speaker", whenever he is off the teleprompter -- from the Democrat debates to his fiasco at the Saddleback Forum -- he hems and he haws and he ums and he urs and then says something that means nothing ("that's above my pay grade..."). There is ONE exception, however, a single time when not reading someone else's words (albeit nicely) off of a machine, when he spoke clearly, unhaltingly and with conviction -- and that was when he was speaking "off the record" to the leftist money-elite in San Francisco.

This was the talk where he said what he believes about people with jobs in America -- that they are stupid and bigoted and that they "cling" to their Christian values out of bitterness and economic desperation. Why suddenly so eloquent? It was because, thinking he was off-the-record and surrounded by other hate-America-always rich leftists, he could say what he truly believes. The other times he wasn't hiding behind closed doors so he had to quickly make up responses that wouldn't reveal what he truly believes about Americans. The hemming and the hawing and the um-ing and the ur-ing all bought time for him to fabricate acceptable responses that would SOUND "thoughtful" but meant absolutely nothing.

More great news for the folks who love America, the television ratings are in for both Governor Palin's and Senator McCain's talks and they were through the roof. Why is this important? Because numbers like these means that people who wouldn't ordinarily watch a convention are doing so because they're still shopping. Not good for the Democrats as if Barry's act was going to work it would have worked by now. People are giving the Republicans a second look and seeing Governor Palin for the first time and listening to McCain with an open mind. Bad news for the leftists...after a brief flirtation with the "new kid in town," the people are tired of his game playing and moving on.

...And what these people saw was spectacular. Why? Because it was real people offering real solutions not gods offering miracles with the wave of their hand. And it was real people who had done real things, not magical superhumans whose every command we will now follow.

During John McCain's talk I couldn't help envisioning him in that prisoner of war camp, beaten, mangled and...hopeful! And I couldn't help comparing that to Michelle at the same age...sitting on the lush lawns of Princeton, writing deep intellectual papers about how horrible is America, how everyone is out to get her and how the world owes her even more.

Simple question for you. Having met the Palins, could you imagine for even one second Sarah and Todd taking their wedding vows in front of Jeremiah Wright? Could you imagine them allowing a hatemonger to baptize their children?

I can't imagine what could have been better last night. Every jab, every policy statement, every shot of her family (looking at the baby with Downs Syndrome and asking in our heads, should he have been killed before he lived?). The young couple, the girl clearly pregnant -- not good but not horrible, either, just life.

The ovation at the beginning telling the pundits in the Mainstream media who were trying to get talk of dumping her from the ticket going that she has all of our support and whole-heartedly...and the zingers...PERFECT...and that voice and cadence...perfect. This election is now the "can-do hockey mom -- the American" versus the "can't do (because everyone else is keeping you down)," Haaa-vard-trained lawyer, citizen of the world who dreams not of his white American Christian mother but his black, African Moslem father. It's about people who are cheered by Americans versus those who are cheered by Germans. It's about those who end corruption and those in bed with Tony Rezko and his ilk, it's about someone who goes to a church where they teach "love thy neighbor" and someone who, for twenty years, is mentored by someone who teaches hate your neighbor. It's about someone who we can trust to fight terrorists versus someone who works hand in hand with terrorists. It's about people who, with real problems, find solutions and joy versus those who sit on lush lawns at elite leftist universities writing papers about how they've been victimized.
It's about people who are humble who deserve to be recognized as great and people who think they're so great who really should be just a little more humble given how little they've accomplished.

My favorite line? Talking about the old governors airplane...."so I sold it on eBay." Problem? Solved. It didn't take a commission to study the psychological effects upon the polar bear or twenty junkets to other nations to investigate how other leaders get rid of their plane. Would Obama have done it? Nope, he would have ordered the American Flag removed from the side and replaced it with something far more important to people like him: his name -- just as he did with the arrogantly named O-Force One that he uses to visit the French but not our wounded soldiers in Germany.

Watching the corrupt, leftist media in such pain afterwards was delicious. That warm feeling on Chris Matthews' leg this time was a sexy tingle and it wasn't running UP.

Matthews and Olbermann et al reminded me in their desperation to find some way out of this problem of nothing other than the movie "The Wizard of Oz." Like "The Great and Powerful Oz" a little girl from "Kansas" had just exposed "The Great and Mighty Barry" as the fraud that he is, just a little putz frantically pulling levers to make people think he's something he's not. And there were Chris and Keith ordering their viewers to "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

What a great day for America, for goodness, for decency, for everything that America is and everything that Barack Hussein Obama isn't.

That's what I want for my kids. We're not there yet."

So, Michelle, if your kids imagine a future of sitting around doing nothing, playing video games and smoking dope, you believe that the resources of the entire nation should be used to help them accomplish their goal?

In this speech Ms. Obama voiced two central Democrat Party beliefs, that whatever anyone wants they are entitled and that it should be paid for, even with the resources of the entire country.

Hillary did a great job last night...for Hillary. As for Obama, I don't think she could have sent a clearer signal that she does not support him. Not at all. In fact, the speech was one giant FU to BOH.

Those who know politics know that it is the art not just of the spoken but of the unsaid as well. What Hillary didn't say -- as Bill Kristol instantly recognized -- was a single word in praise of Barack Obama. Ms. Clinton was smart. She did what she had to do so as not to be blamed for Obama's inevitable defeat in three months, but nowhere in that talk was there an endorsement of Barack Obama the man.

If Clinton had been defeated by John Edwards or Bill Richardson the speech would have been exactly the same save for the name (and, perhaps, a nod to his latest love child.) It was a Mad-Libs speech, wonderfully delivered, where whenever she got to Barack's name you could almost hear her asking for a "proper noun..."

This entire convention has been one big bust for the Democrats. Halfway through and the two most memorable moments were Hillary's non-endorsement and Michelle playing June Cleaver in one of those typical Democrat moments where an entire lifetime is supposed to be rewritten with one twenty minute performance (think John Kerry's "reporting for duty." act.)

Obama has had a terrible run since the house of cards started to fall with his "Citizen of the World" tour, running through his disastrous "above my pay grade" appearance at the Saddleback Forum, his selling out all that "hope" and "change" stuff for the (failed) political calculus of Joseph Biden and now, halfway through the convention no one has endorsed Barack Obama. Hillary endorsed Hillary and Michelle endorsed a non-existent Ward Cleaver. You get the feeling the only Democrat to get "a little bounce" this week is Bill in some cheap motel. Being in Denver, at least he'll be able to brag that he finally joined "the mile high club."

DENVER -- A black Hillary Clinton delegate on Sunday accused state Senate President Emil Jones of calling her an "Uncle Tom."

Jones -- Barack Obama's political mentor -- denied using the racially loaded slur against Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb, but two aldermen who said they witnessed the Saturday night exchange back up Cobb's account.

"Last night, I was called an 'Uncle Tom' by Emil Jones in the lobby of the hotel, right in front of [Ald.] Freddrenna Lyle and [Ald.] Leslie Hairston and [Ald.] Latasha Thomas," said Cobb, a member of Clinton's Illinois Steering Committee. "I walked over to him and asked him, 'What did you just call me?'

The embarrassing flap came on the eve of the Democratic National Convention, which will open tonight with a string of Chicago speakers talking about Obama's life story. Jones is often referred to as Obama's "political godfather.''

Thoughts on Last Night's Forum

Last night was a big victory for John McCain. It is clearly why McCain has been asking for debates and Obama has been ducking them. Obama simply cannot respond unless he is reading a teleprompter because, like so many leftists before him (Gore, Kerry, et al) he's not real.

Last night it was the august Senator vs. a guy who has been a senator since August;
it was the grown-up who knows what he believes and has the experience to have reason to believe it and the guy in the high school debate club struggling to find the "right" answers, the one he's supposed to know from history class but was too stoned that day to remember; it was the man who had withstood torture against the guy who thinks torture is being hungover after another kegger on the Harvard campus.

It was a contest between a man who asks what he can do for his country versus a guy who asks what his country can do for him. It was the man who believes God should bless America and the guy who believes, in the words of his mentor, God should "damn America."

One of the most telling moments of the night came when the man and the spoiled, elitist child were asked about who they would turn to for advice. The man named people of great accomplishment: a war hero whose actions had saved tens of thousands of lives and helped spread freedom and democracy to one of the last violent and primitive regions on the planet and the child mentioned his (grand) mommy. The man named a hero of industry whose efforts had brought jobs and prosperity to thousands, the other his best gal, famous for nothing other than a "boo-hoo, poor me, nobody likes me because I'm black" college thesis and for insisting that (boo-hoo, poor me) America is "mean" to me.

Remind me, isn't the grandmother Obama said he'd turn to for advice the same "typical white woman" he threw under a bus not all that long ago? This guy is John Kerry on steroids (or some other drug). You know, "I voted FOR my grandmother after I voted AGAINST my grandmother." To Obama -- like all narcissists -- people are like issues, you don't care about them, you just use them for personal gain. (Wasn't he FOR Reverend Wright before he was AGAINST Reverend Wright, and AGAINST NAFTA before he was FOR NAFTA, AGAINST gun rights before he was FOR gun rights, FOR surrendering in Iraq and now AGAINST surrendering in Iraq (unless he's for it again...))

Another telling moment came when the two were asked about the existence of evil. Obama had no doubt that evil exists, and then spent almost his entire answer arguing that America and Americans are evil, that the threat is not al Qaeda (which he didn't mention) or Islamic Jihadists (which he didn't mention) or Hamas (which he didn't mention) but Americans who beat their children and Americans who provoke the evil-doers by fighting back against them without the "humility" to know that the terrorists have their point-of-view, too.

Obama also fudged a number of answers, including lying about his support of post-birth abortions. This will come back to haunt him because, unlike when another famous "say anything for personal power," glib lefitst pretty-boy whose goal was not serving America but proving how great he is by being elected president, Bill Clinton, was triangulating and lying his way to his lifelong dream of being ultimate personal power, this is not 1992 and the leftist media -- no matter how many tingles shoot towards their groin whenever the Dalibama (as Hugh Hewitt calls him) speaks -- does not fully control all aspects of the media. Keith Olbermann can lie on Barry's behalf, Brian Williams can deem the truth unimportant, but there is now an alternative media that didn't exist when Bill was saying one thing here, another thing there and doing a third.

Any questions about McCain's age ware answered as he looked good, was sharp in his replies,was both affable and strong. Any questions about Obama's utter lack of experience (not to mention convictions) were also answered, though not in a positive way. Obama looked like a beauty pageant contestant struggling through the "interview" portion of the contest. His answers were infantile but, he hopes, not devastating as he returns to what he does best, the swimsuit competition.

Decision Made -- McCain Wins

Today's Supreme Court ruling on the Second Amendment is going to decide the next President of the United States and that is John McCain.

The fact that the ruling was not 9-to-0 but only five-to-four means that one more leftist on the Supreme Court and the people's right to defend themselves would have been abolished.

If I were McCain, I'd run an ad day and night for the next 90 days saying simply: the Four leftist judges voted to take away your right to protect yourself. One more and they would have succeeded. The next president will nominate one, two or even three Supreme Court justices, your freedom -- and your family's safety -- lies in the balance.

I'd probably run another ad that said "the Liberals on the Supreme Court don't think child rapists should be eligible for the death penalty. Barack Obama is the single most leftist of all United States Senators. Do you want more judges like those who think child rape isn't so bad?"

Why the Russert Hagiography?

I had been listening to almost a week of non-stop "remembrances" of Tim Russert. I believe it to have been overkill (come on, The Kennedy Center???) but so be it. I enjoy seeing his face and hearing his words and listening to the explanation for his adulation from others. There aren't that many American heroes that the leftist media is willing to report on and, if they wish to hold Russert up as one, well at least they're acknowledging that the better does, in fact, exist. It's been good to see Russert and to be reminded of the values that made him special.

Still, this coverage that rivals (and exceeds) the coverage of people whose names are known outside the beltway and whose contributions were more than merely asking good questions of politicians demands explanation.

Clearly self-absorption has a lot to do with it. The insularity and arrogance of the media is well-known and thus they think the passing of one of their own is more significant than the passing of a Pope or a President. But, even that doesn't explain it all. After all, while coverage of Peter Jennings' premature passing was overkill as well, it was nowhere near the hagiography we witnessed last week.

So, what is it about Russert that is engendering this kind of passion amongst the leftists in the media?

I suspect it is their recognition of the passing of the last decent man amongst them. Listening to their eulogies one is struck by how what they single out as the qualities that made Russert great are exactly the one's the rest of them violently reject.

Russert had -- and respected -- his Jesuit roots and Catholic faith. This amongst people to whom faith is the greatest of all evils and whose hatred for Christianity (and specifically Catholicism) is legend.

Russert appreciated the people of small town America. Time and again the story was told this week of Russert making his first call after each program to his father, "Big Russ" of Buffalo, New York, to see if he'd lived up to his standards and values. This in opposition to the leftist news man who holds the people of Buffalo (and all other towns outside what they derisively call "fly-over country") is utter disdain, believing, as their hero Barack Obama believes, that these losers "cling" to their values out of "antipathy for people who aren't like them."

Russert was optimistic and happy -- exactly the opposite traits of the Modern Liberal who is constantly angry, jealous, petty and feeling "victimized." Americans are optimistic and happy. Russert was an American.

What we are witnessing in this unprecedented coverage of Tim Russert is the leftist media mourning the passing of the last decent man amongst them. And it could not come at a worse time for the good people of America as we are left only with people whose values are exactly the opposite of Russert's and whose work shows it. Who is going to ask Barack Obama a tough question now? Will it be Chris Matthews who has admitted on air that Obama sends tingles towards his groin or will it be Keith Olbermann who thinks that the "worst person in the world" isn't Osama Bin Ladin or the butchers in the Sudan, but George Bush?

Tim Russert wasn't blessed with some superhuman powers. He was merely a throwback to a mindset lost to Modern Liberalism. He will be missed.

An Open Letter to My Democrat Friends:

I'm going to state the facts as best I can.

Barack Obama is a virtual unknown. He's served less than one term in the United States Senate -- having announced his run for the Presidency before he was even eighteen months in office.

During that time we know almost nothing about his plans --much less what he will actually pursue if he became the most powerful person in human history and even less about what he'll be able to accomplish.

We know he favors "hope" over "fear" (but, of course, so did Neville Chamberlain.) We know he's a big fan of "change" yet change to what we're not quite sure. We know he speaks of being a "uniter" yet whenever the Senate saw efforts at bipartisanship -- such as the "gang of fourteen" -- not only was Obama nowhere to be found, his voting record is the most radical leftist of all US Senators.

While we don't know much more about Obama's plans or accomplishments we DO know the people who helped make him what he is today. We know that he's in bed with mobsters -- his home purchased only with the aid of Tony Rezko. We know that his longtime mentor is a Jew-hater, white-hater and an American hater who holds Louis Farrakhan in the highest regard. We DO know that he's a colleague, friend (and probably more) to unrepentant terrorists like William Ayers.

So, given his lack of experience, his refusal to work with people on the other side of the aisle, his close relationship with hatemongers, murderers and mobsters, just what exactly would it take to get you to question his candidacy and his elevation to the most powerful position in the history of the world?

Born in the USA -- Why Springsteen Endorsed Obama

So Bruce Springsteen endorsed Barack Obama. No surprise there for Springsteen and Obama share the same elitist and disdainful view of working class America.

Am I really saying that Springsteen, "the champion of the working man," holds the people he sings about in ill-regard? Absolutely. In fact, he, like Obama, always has. Springsteen's songs may be populated with working class people in working class towns -- just as Obama might talk about their hopes and their dreams -- but his description of them like Obama's is unfailingly insulting, condescending and even hateful.

Time and again Springsteen describes Middle America as a place of unmitigated horrors. "Babe this town rips the bones from your back," he screams in his iconic "Born to Run," embellishing this by saying small town America is "a death trap," and "a suicide rap."

In "Thunder Road" Springsteen is desperately trying to escape a "town full of losers," while in "Sandy (Fourth of July)" he describes the denizens of small town America as having "stony faces" and as people "left stranded" in America (on the Fourth of July, no less). In Springsteen's cartoonish vision of small town America everyone is a rube who rides the "tilt-a-whirl" and is condemned to "never get off..."

What makes Springsteen believe that small town America is "full of losers" is the same thing that makes the elitist Obama think so: unlike them, these people have jobs.

Thus, in "Rosalita" Springsteen attempts to confiscate yet another "loser" girl (like "Mary" in "Thunder Road") and save her from the horrors of ever having to work a job. Springsteen knows a place, a virtual paradise, where, instead of earning a living "they play guitar all night and all day," just like Springsteen himself.

In Springsteen's world -- as it is to a good many Democrats -- having a job is the ultimate in hell. It is much preferable to be a rock star, or to marry the inheritor of John Heinz's fortune or to get in good with mobsters like Tony Rezko who help you buy your mansions than to do an honest day's work). These "losers" are losers because they "cling to" their beliefs rather than selling out, marrying for money or aligning oneself with a hate church to establish their "authenticity" in search of votes.

Work to the Modern Liberal is the ultimate in hell with absolutely nothing good to be said of it. Thus, in "Adam Raised a Cain" Springsteen's "daddy worked his whole life for nothing but the pain," while those who work in a factory are so dehumanized by having a job that they no longer even have a name -- they're just called "man:"

"End of the day
Factory whistle cries
Man walks through these gates
With death in their eyes..."

Along with his "daddy" and the factory worker, the mechanic is a loser in Springsteen's world condemned to "working all day in my daddy's garage" while "driving all night chasing some mirage." Those who work on the highway are equally condemned to a living hell where they do nothing but "hold a red flag and watch the traffic (life) pass me by." The same is true if you do manual labor: "Now I work down at the car wash, where all it ever does is rain."

The office worker, the policeman and the soldier are no better in Springsteen (and the Democrats') view. In fact, according to Springsteen, a living "death" is the consequence of "the work, the workin' just the workin' life."

Of course, this is only the way the rock star (Springsteen and Obama and the San Francisco Elite and the Hollywood actor) see the world. The reality is, as always with the Modern Liberal, exactly the opposite. The overwhelming majority of Americans have jobs and find a great deal of satisfaction, pride and pleasure in their efforts. In fact, there is a television show called "Dirty Jobs" where the star, Mike Rowe, seeks out what he can only imagine are the worst jobs possible. In one ad for an upcoming season he declares that the people he has worked with "are some of the happiest people I've ever met."

Since Springsteen and Obama believe that having a job is hell, leaving everyone's "daddy" working their whole lives for nothing but the pain, what follows is a given: bitterness, anger and frustration which, in turn, leads to violence.

Springsteen's "daddy" now "walks these empty rooms looking for something to blame, while the "factory worker" goes home and beats his child ("and you'd just better believe, boy, someone's gonna get hurt tonight"). The highway worker takes out his frustration "...looking to get hurt" and "...going down to Scovell's wearing trouble on their shirt."

Perhaps it's Springsteen's mechanic who says it best of all. Because he has a job:

"Sometimes I feel so weak I just wanna explode
Explode and tear this whole town apart
Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart.
Find someone itchin' for somethin' to start..."

In Springsteen and Obama's view, the hell of having a job is compounded by the constant fear of losing that job. Everyone is but one paycheck away from hell in an economy that, no matter the realities of the past thirty-five years, is constantly on the brink of The Great Depression. In Obama's slander of what he would likely call "typical white people" delivered to the elite in San Francisco, the people of Pennsylvania have been unemployed nonstop for a quarter of a century (and THAT'S why they believe in things as stupid as God). Of course not only isn't this true, it's ludicrous (how did they pay their bills for twenty-five straight years?).

In Springsteen's world everyone has "debts no honest man could pay" or are standing on a breadline somewhere, every town is a ghost town and every job "going, boys, and they ain't coming back..."

For thirty-five years -- most of them seeing unprecedented economic expansion -- Springsteen's towns have been unchanged, all of them with Main Streets filled with
"white washed window and vacant stores" ("My Hometown") then (1983) while today (2007):

"The diner was shuttered and boarded
With a sign that just said 'gone'"

One would think that Obama and Springsteen were talking about the dust bowl of three-quarters of a century ago, with its inhabitants all characters in "The Grapes of Wrath" (the first book Springsteen ever read -- when he was well into his twenties!). In fact, Springsteen DOES see it just like that. Not long ago Springsteen released an entire album filled with nothing but misery entitled "The
Ghost of Tom Joad" including lines that describe the dust bowl era like "shelter lines stretchin' around the corner." This album was released in 1995 -- when America was going through its second longest period of sustained economic growth in history.

Springsteen's world -- like that of Obama and all Modern Liberals - is a world filled with paranoia where boogeymen are all out to get you. Jeremiah Wright -- Obama's spiritual guru, personal mentor and campaign adviser -- has the decency to name these horrible people, they are Jews and what Obama himself would call your "typical white person." Obama, too, names the boogeymen, they are the Americans who work at pharmaceutical companies and at the energy companies. Springsteen is a bit more mysterious, typically referring to these evil forces that keep Americans having to have jobs as "they" or "them." Thus, in "Something in the Night" Springsteen whines:

"Well now you're born with nothing
And better off that way
Cause soon as you got something
They send someone to try and take it away..."

Meanwhile in another song, "Night" he whimpers:

"well all day, they're busting you up on the outside..."

It is because of this paranoia that Springsteen advises:

"Trust none of what you hear
And less of what you see..."

Springsteen's vision of an evil America who force the losers to remain in those hellish small towns and actually have to have jobs is shared by another of Obama's top advisers, his wife Michelle. Given the chance to express her beliefs about the country that provided her with affirmative action programs, scholarships to college, a cushy quarter-million-dollar-a-year-job and a husband who is a United States Senator (not bad for an "oppressed minority" where the white people create AIDS just to get her), Ms. Obama took the opportunity to testify about how horrible it is to have been born in the United States.

So, too, did Springsteen. So, when testifying to the world about what it is like to have been "born in the USA," rather than tell the story of a country that saw a bus driver's son who never had a job becoming a superstar with, in his own words, "a life of leisure and a pirate's treasure," Springsteen instead told the world that being "Born in the USA" is a horrible curse:

"Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
End up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up."

Of course, that's no more an accurate description of an American than is the idea that small towns "rip the bones from your back" (but they do in Hollywoood and Washington DC if they can -- home to Springsteen and Obama) and that the people of Pennsylvania live in "towns full of losers." Nor is it any more accurate than the idea that people who have jobs all go home and beat their children (when they're not clinging to the bibles). But this IS how the Modern Liberal sees America and it's not surprising that one -- Springsteen -- would be endorsing another.

So, let me see if I've got this right...

Bill Clinton is "McCarthy," while Bill Richardson is "Judas," Geraldine Ferraro is a "racist" while Jeremiah Wright is the Dem's leading candidate's "spiritual adviser," mentor and close personal friend and guru of the last two decades.

Bill Clinton, when he's not Joe McCarthy, is a "racist," this, just a few years after the Democrats told us he was America's "first black president." Hillary makes up stories about her trip to Bosnia -- not dissimilar in the least to John Kerry's fake stories about Vietnam. 10 years or so ago there was a "vast right wing conspiracy" out to get those lovely, lovely Clinton folks, now it's the Clintons who are corrupt and evil and, well, everything the Democrats denied not all that long ago.

Meanwhile, Joe Lieberman, the great and moral "conscience of the Senate" and the Democrats' choice to be but a heartbeat away from the presidency? Turns out he's a "warmonger" and maybe even a "zionist" (read: Jew), making at least two out of the last five or so Democrat Veep candidates purely evil. We should have known that Lieberman was a Nazi because, that's what the Democrats told us BEFORE he was "the conscience of the Senate," when he asked record companies if they wouldn't voluntarily put warning labels on the musical version of what Jerry Wright preaches to Obama and his kids. Lieberman has had more ups and downs than Bill on a fat chick.

Oh, wait, don't forget John Edwards. He's a guy who ran not once but twice on the incredible dual platform that, in evil, horrible America it is impossible to go from poor to rich and concurrently selling himself as someone who understands the "other" America because he himself went from, uh, poor to rich. Now THAT'S good, no wonder they made him the Veep choice -- bringing us to three out of the last five.

Now, in a move he must have learned from watching John Edwards, Obama is running a campaign as a "post-racial" candidate and, to prove it, he makes a big speech on race, where he throws his white grandmother -- you know, that "typical white person" -- under the bus to defend the hate-mongering of his mentor, friend, spiritual guru and campaign adviser, Jeremieh "God DAMN America" Wright.

At the same time, the man who set out to "prove" that he was post-patriotic by consciously refusing to wear even the tiniest of American flag lapel pins (and whose wife publicly testifies that she has never been proud of America) stands up and makes his pro-Wright, anti-white-grandma speech in front of not one, not two, not three, not four but EIGHT giant American flags.

Welcome to the Democrat Party -- racists, warmongers, liars, cheats and hypocrites... and this is just what they call each other!

The Right Thinker reads this and says "my, god, the mass murder of innocent students, what a horrible crime."

The leftist sees the same story and, having been taught in kindergarten that "everybody's nice" (therefore every child must be invited to the kindergartener's party) says the Jews MUST have done something to make this nice people do it.

Then we see the terrorists brethren nothing less than dancing in the streets over cold blooded mass murder of innocent students and the Right Thinker recognizes there's a sickness in the Arab world. The Modern Liberal looks, knows how sick it is and has no choice but to say those JEWS must be really horrible for such a nice community to be dancing over their deaths. Any other conclusion would be bigotry.

And the leftist is not a bigot. So, he has no choice but to hate the Jews for making nice terrorists kill them.

It's Hard Always Being Right II

I know I owe you guys a lot more than this but I got notes back from the publisher and, well, that takes precedence.

I do have two big pieces in the hopper, I just don't feel comfortable enough yet with either of them to post them now. Maybe soon.

In the meantime, it was way back when, perhaps at the time of the Iowa caucuses or maybe just after New Hampshire. Who knows, maybe it was even post South Carolina. In my piece I was equivocating over my predictions about the long and the short term outlook for the leftist candidates. I concluded with a line that, in its essence said "no one can know for sure where this race is going to end up. But I do know one thing for certain, if Hillary wins, the Democrats will scream that America is "racist," if Obama wins, the Democrats will scream that America is sexist. Either way, America can't win, but those who hate America -- the leftists -- can't lose..."

Well, here's a quote from America's "newspaper of record," the hate-America-always leftists at the New York Times, written by one of their top eight or nine top hate-America-always leftist columnists, the perpetually aggrieved Maureen Dowd:

"People will have to choose which of America's sins are greater, and which stain will have to be removed first. Is misogyny worse than racism, or is racism worse than misogyny?" Really, that's what this election is about, how to "make it up to" women or blacks? I thought it was about keeping America safe, I thought it was about keeping America free. I thought it was about continuing to grow an economy that perhaps -- just perhaps -- now, after sixty-plus straight months of uninterrupted economic growth, might be starting to slow down.

But, alas, Democrats don't think in those terms. Everything is about race and gender and other such meaningless things.

Meanwhile, take note, that the only one not mentioned in this quote is John McCain. To the Democrat the ONLY person America owes nothing to is the war hero, the former POW and the statesman who didn't begin running for the presidency before he/she had even served a day in the Senate.

Frankly, I think the reason Ms. Dowd did not mention John McCain in this quote is that she's a POW-a-phobe.

The Failure of the Academy Awards and the Selfishness of the Modern Liberal

The ratings are in and this year's "Academy Awards" were the lowest rated in the history of the self-congratulations fest.

To some, this latest failure -- on the heals of failure upon failure at the box office and in the ratings -- is just one more example of the self-destructive nature of the Hollywood leftist.

That conclusion is wrong.

Liberals do not "self"-destruct. They only hurt others. Their "courage," their "charity" their "caring" always comes at someone else's expense. Liberals are always incredibly generous and courageous so long as they take no risks themselves and they are sure that it will cost them nothing.

Al Gore "cares" about the environment, but only so long as he personally pockets millions and thanks to a loophole available only to the super rich like him, is able to continue to run his indoor pool full bore for just a couple of pennies out of the millions he extorts from others as an "environmental expert" the way Al Sharpton makes his fortune by "consulting" on race policy at corporations.

Similarly, Ted Kennedy is a "big time environmentalist" until the day the science shows that the best place for a wind farm is off his daddy's "compound" (not far from where he got away with killing a woman not all that long ago). Suddenly "the environment" just isn't that important to him if it partially obstructs his "pristine view" of the water.

Democrats "care" about "the poor" only so long as they can tax someone else to pay for the programs they create and then tax them again to pay for the bureaucracy to handle the administration so that they don't actually have to do any work in getting that money to "the poor."

In a book called "Who Really Cares?" -- the most exhaustive study ever conducted on who actually gives to charity -- in utter opposition to what the leftist liars in the news and entertainment fields have sold for years, by far and away the MOST generous are religious conservatives and by far and away the LEAST compassionate are the secular Liberals. Brooks concludes about the leftists (I'll paraphrase from memory)"apparently some people believe that holding the right political position is a substitute for actually doing anything."

Still, one would think that destroying the movie industry -- turning it from the darling of the American people into something only twelve year olds attend -- would be a form of "self" destruction for the people who work in that industry. Nope.

Years ago there was a thing called "the studio system." It was headed by businessmen who risked their own money to make a product that would return a profit. There were a variety of reasons why they cared enough to make good movies, not least of them being that, because they were personally invested in the outcome of a movie, they wanted to keep the customer satisfied.

Then actors were what they should be, nicely paid pretty faces who had to entertain their audiences because they needed to keep working. Humphrey Bogart made a good salary, but not so much that he could say "F--k you" to his audience.

Today, folks like Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon make two, three, ten and even twenty million dollars for movies that bomb at the box office and then they are set for life. They have no personal stake in the outcome of the picture because they rarely -- if ever -- have the courage to invest in their own efforts.

Telling is that, when the "courageous" Steven Spielberg wasn't yet set for life, the movies he made were good ones and we went to see them. Back then he made "Jaws" and "E.T." and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and his audience for these good movies made him filthy rich.

It wasn't until he had pocketed so much money that no amount of failure could in any way intrude on his personal fun, that he decided to become "important," and make his Marxist-penned, lie-filled, pro-terrorist propaganda film "Munich." It, of course, bombed at the box office specifically because it was a Marxist-penned, lie-filled, pro-terrorist propaganda film, but that in no way has kept Speilberg from buying anything he wants anytime he wants it and being the toast of a town (even an Academy Award nomination for "best picture") where Marxism is adored, propaganda the goal and the terrorists their allies.

Telling is that when Sean Penn still needed money, he made the cute and fun "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." It wasn't until after he was so filthy rich that nothing could intrude on his personal fun, that he decided that he'd become an "important" and "courageous" actor and director. Can anyone think of a successful Sean Penn movie of the past, say, ten years?

Can you name me one successful movie that Susan Sarandon has ever made? Why would she bother. He biggest grossing movie ever (in real dollars) was "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" where this great "artist" spent the entire movie in her panties singing "Toucha-toucha-toucha-touch me." Soon thereafter she discovered her "courage" so long as the residual checks kept pouring in from the movie where she showed off the goods.

Meanwhile, while Spielberg, Penn and Sarandon continue to pocket the ten, twenty and thirty million dollar guarantees for movies that bomb each and every time out, the middle class worker who finances their efforts through their pension plans and 401Ks continues to pay the bills. Remember, Liberals are ALWAYS generous, so long as it's someone else's money.

You know how leftists love to bitch about CEO's who, at the age sixty-five -- after forty years of being one of the people working their way up the ladder -- make something like fifty times the salary of their average employee (including interns and menial-skilled workers). Ever try to calculate what Spielberg makes on each failed movie compared to what the gaffers, grips and the driver of the "roach coach" makes? Clooney gets, what, ten...twenty...THIRTY million dollars for six weeks "work?" Let's say he does two, three or four movies a year, that's, taking the middle figure, eighty million dollars a year not counting residuals, merchandising, and other huge paydays for doing nothing.

Compare and contrast that with the average annual income of the people who actually do the work of making a movie -- the gaffer and the best boy, for example. I don't think the carpenter on the set is making a million a year of one eightieth of what a "courageous" guy like Clooney makes.

And it's not like these leftists don't know it. Consider the song by Jackson Browne, his highest grossing album ever, "Running on Empty." He closes the album with a "tribute" to the peons in his life including "the roadies."

"They're the first to come and the last to leave," he sings, adding "working for that minimum wage." The hardest working people Browne knows, so, to help them, he wrote them a song, put it on his album, and made a ton more money for himself. What a guy. What a leftist!

Want to know who are amongst the highest paid "below-the-line" people on a movie set? The stars' hairdressers and make-up artists. Want to know why they are so highly paid? Because the stars force the studios (i.e. the middle-aged worker in Iowa who owns Universal Studios stock as part of her retirement package) to pick up the tab for their friends.

Liberals are "compassionate," so long as it doesn't cost them a dime. They are "charitable" so long as the charity comes from taxing someone else. They are "courageous" so long as they risk nothing. They "care" so long as it in no way infringes upon their fun.

Short Piece

This is just a short piece -- major post to follow over the weekend.

The entire point of having "super delegates" is to have them vote their conscience and their knowledge. If they were to simply -- mindlessly -- reflect "the will of the voters" then there'd be no reason to have them and, instead, each primary or caucus could just have a few more delegates assigned to them.

The entire purpose of having these super delegates is to ensure that a fast talking demagogue with a silver tongue and a pretty face -- a man so enthralling but without substance or accomplishment that blowing his nose brings cheers on par with his most well-shaped policy statements -- doesn't hijack the party and leave them with a candidate incapable of winning in the fall.

What is the appeal of Barack Hussein Obama? Why do little girls (and not so little girls) pass out at his concerts? Why do little boys (and not so little boys) weep at his hollow proclamations of "hope" and "change?" What is it about this man that sees supposedly smart people cheering his mucus?

The answer before Monday. Here's a hint: The Modern Liberal believes that rational thought is an act of bigotry.

What have we learned so far?

1) Whites WILL vote for a black man so long as he's not running as a black man.
2) Money doesn't buy victory. Far from it, the candidates with the most money
HRC and Mitt Romney) are either out of the race or getting a run for that money.
Conversely, McCain was dead broke earlier in the campaign, Huckabee never had
much money and these are the last two standing on the right side of things.
3) Democrats will play the race card and the gender card (crying on cue) while
Republicans talk issues.
4) There was no "vast right wing conspiracy," Bill and Hillary ARE vicious and
corrupt.
5) Obama is for "hope" and against "fear," otherwise we have no idea what he stands
for.
6) This is going to be a contest between "feelings" and facts, children and
grown-ups, rhetoric and reality. It's between someone who thinks "hope" is a
catchy, market-tested slogan and someone who survived on little more than hope
in the real world.
7) It's between those who believe America is evil and needs to be "fixed" by huge
government confiscation of freedom and those who believe America is basically
good and seeks to improve things by returning freedom.

Rhetoric versus reality, the children versus the adults, the time-tested versus the neophyte. It's going to be an interesting race.

So...Where Do We Stand Now?

In basketball, when one speaks of having an advantage, one often says "the possession arrow is in his favor." Barack Obama has EVERY possession arrow in his favor at this moment.

Super Tuesday was a fiasco for the Rodham-Clinton forces. Her huge national lead has shrunk to near zero, Obama ended up in a tie -- if not with a small advantage -- in delegates and all of the momentum is on his side.

He's piling up the endorsements, he's raking in the money (Hillary had to "lend" her campaign five million dollars and her staff has had to go without pay) and the next few primaries and caucuses all favor Obama in one way or another, giving him another week or more run in the media as the man on the rise.

Ms. Rodham-Clinton's one remaining advantage -- the Super Delegates (the Democrats' way of pretending to be a party of the people while reserving real power for their overlords) -- is not an advantage at all anymore. After all, most signed on with Rodham-Clinton when she was "inevitable," often selling their souls for access to power. Now that she is losing, those delegates are not only not bound to her, but, one-by-one will be picked off by Obama and his handlers.

Worst of all for Rodham-Clinton, should we see a brokered convention, there is simply no way that the calculating powers-that-be who signed on with Clinton when they thought SHE would be their path to greater personal wealth and power would allow themselves to be seen as "stealing" the election from the black candidate. Could you imagine the "outrage" of the race profiteers if it was seen as Democrats' backroom dealing thwarting their dream of a half-black president?

Thus Obama, who is already winning, has to do is come close to Rodham-Clinton, something that is almost guaranteed given the election scheme by which delegates are doled out on a "proportional" basis.

What Democrat power-monger is going to risk alienating the one group that, until now, was most likely to march in lockstep with the Democrat Party? A brokered convention is an Obama convention.

On the Republican side we now have a presumptive nominee. It is hard not to recognize the differences between a man with his incredible story of heroism, strength and accomplishment versus the two one-term, pampered leftists who have accomplished absolutely nothing in their years of "service" mostly to themselves in the guise of "the people." It's going to come down -- as it almost always does these days -- to the adults versus the children.

The problem is that, thanks to the forty years of leftist control of the public school and media, there are a great many voters who are, in fact, children. They want their bills paid by mommmy and daddy (or the "nanny state" as it is generally recognized to be), without any more concern about how it will be paid for than the child has about how his Christmas presents were paid for. Their "thinking" isn't very deep (has any one of them asked what happens AFTER the Democrats surrender to the terrorists in the Middle East?) and meaningless sloganeering combined with leftist demoguogery is enough to see them sign on to nonsense.

In fact, it was Ms. Rodham-Clinton who made exactly this pitch in her "holiday" ad where she was mommy putting things like good health and good education under the tree for the children to unwrap, willing to believe in the Santa Claus that is the Democrat Party.

At some point Obama is going to have to say more than "hope" and "fear" (two "emotions" being sold to children who thrive on emotionalism and not facts). When he does, imagine the conversation between the grown-up and the adult.

Although I didn't support McCain in the primaries, I do recognize that in every way, he is better than the leftists because he IS an adult. Does that mean I agree with every policy of the adult? Of course not. But I do know that when I need someone to operate complex and heavy machinery, I'd still prefer to have someone experienced and accomplished over inexperienced children who, in one case, hasn't even finished his freshman term and in the other, with only slightly more "experience" than that.

I think, in the end, so will the American people.

There are some other lessons to be learned at this point and in each of them the leftists were, of course, wrong. Remember when the leftists were screaming about a "vast right-wing conspiracy" out to get the Clintons. Now it turns out the Clintons really were as disgusting as the rest of us recognized them to be. Who says so? The Democrats, of course.

Meanwhile, America was supposed to be so evil that "racism lurk(ed) in every dark shadow in America" according to Joe Biden, but Obama not only won lily white Iowa, but he won a majority of whites in California.

Remember how in evil, horrible America, the person with the most money always wins? Ooops, Mitt Romney had the most money and he's sitting on the sidelines now along with the well-funded campaigns of so many others. Who are the two candidates left standing on the right? The low-budget efforts of a previously little known Governor and John McCain who was so broke at one point that, those on his campaign staff who weren't fired were working without pay.

There's a lot more to go and a lot more to be learned. I hope people will watch, listen and learn.

Evan's Endorsement

Well, the time has come to get off the fence and endorse a candidate. As I last wrote, this is not an easy decision. McCain is in almost every way a bust. In fact, there are only two issues on which he might be thought to have the advantage and I'm not convinced he does.

The first is national security. Yes, he was in favor of "the surge" before it was popular and before it proved the stunning success that it is. He deserves -- and gets -- a lot of points for that.

Yet on every other issue of national security -- from protecting our borders from invasion, to using thoughtful means of eliciting information from terrorists before they murder again, he fails miserably.

On issues related to security, such as drilling for oil at ANWR which would both lessen our dependence on foreign oil almost immediately and, by doing so, deny the terrorists a great deal of funding, he fails miserably too.

I also consider his falling for the canard of global warming, the leftist' effort to shackle "the great Satan" while allowing our enemies and competitors (and Al Gore) to continue to spew pollution at unprecedented rates, a national security failure.

The other issue is, as bad as McCain is on virtually every issue, he's still better than the radical leftists who would surrender Iraq to the terrorists, talk and talk and talk to the Iranians until they have and use nuclear weapons, if for no other reason than that the Democrats hate Jews (explained at length in my forthcoming book).

McCain, the argument goes, has the best chance of beating the radical leftists and keeping the hate-America-always crowd out of power is essential. I don't buy this argument, either. I am not impressed by polls that ALWAYS show Democrats beating Republicans early on (and the fact that a faux Republican, like McCain, is leading against Hillary changes nothing).

The issues, once actually discussed beyond the level of "hope" and "change" and "fear" on the one hand and "Christmas presents under the tree for the children" on the other, sees the Republican close the gap and take the lead as the election turns from polls to ballots.

Romney is right on taxes. McCain not only was against Bush's tax cuts, but slandered those who disagreed with him. The idea that he's now seen the error of his ways because "they worked" only further calls into question his judgment. After all, tax cuts ALWAYS work. They worked when JFK cut taxes and they worked when Reagan cut taxes and they worked when Bush cut taxes. McCain's insults are just the icing on the cake.

Romney shares McCain's understanding that we are in a war against Islamic fascists -- something the Democrats don't get (for that would be "racist"). He is also more likely to appoint the right judges.

I like Mike Huckabee personally. He's engaging. He is straight-forward, just like a guy who has nothing to lose and, of course, it's because he has nothing to lose. I'm not thrilled that he is running interference for McCain, perhaps in the hopes of being asked to be McCain's number two or perhaps just for his ego.

But Huckabee's continued quixotic quest means that McCain would not even win the Republican nomination if he weren't playing tag-team with McCain,

I think Romney's vigor, experience (McCain has never run a business or been in the position of running a state) and demeanor make him a better candidate than the elderly and battered McCain whose flip-flops are not only more than any that could be said about Romney, but far harder to explain.

Romney is far from the perfect candidate in my book. But in every way he's better than McCain. I will, of course, support McCain with all of my heart if he's head-to-head with people I recognize will destroy this country with their socialist agenda, their international cowardess and their disdain for the American people. But this race is far from over and, for all of the reasons listed above and more, I ask that you vote for Mitt Romney on Tuesday and beyond.
